It was supposed to be called Nice Fit, talking about the synergy between therapy, vet explorer, deeds, etc. But a typo was made in the threads title (Nic Fit). It's been called that ever since.

Was there another thread called nic fit in the past? This one doesn't seem too old! I heard rumors it was nic fit because it leaves your opponent ravenous / craving more cards after you cabal therapy / veteran explorer.
Thanks for the matchup analysis, TheBatman. I'm going to be updating the original post with more detailed matchup analysis, so if you or anyone else wants to elaborate on specific ones, I can include it (and credit you of course).
Re: Playset of Veteran Explorer - I've always thought 3 was a better number here because he is not great in late-game, and once you run out of basics to fetch, he is pretty weak. Three of them + four Zenith's ought to get you one soon enough.
Sakura-Tribe Elder I tried and decided there are much better 2-drops to use. His ability is clownshoes compared to Explorer's.
Sorin 2.0 may be a perfect fit, but what would you take out? I can't imagine saying the same for Garruk 3.0, his cost is a little prohibitive and I don't see where he synergizes in any way the cheaper PWs don't. But testing is the only way to know I suppose.
My question I can't seem to answer is how many slots should this deck have MD for PWs. They are, as previously mentioned, strong here, as Nic Fit is good at keeping damage from coming through.
I like him over Elspeth, but that's solely because of mana requirements. I don't really feel that either of them do anything that spectacular (I've had limited testing, so if you can show otherwise I'd be happy to hear about it) since the deck can already pump out creatures pretty consistently, and making big guys bigger seems redundant with the amount of removal available.
Also, I don't really like tokens and Deed. I understand they let you rebuild if you pop it, but they still have negative synergy.

I think two Liliana's belong in most lists. Maybe 3 in some. After that, any extra walkers and which ones seem to be dictated by the rest of your deck and meta.
Master of the Wild Hunt and Garruk Relentless are amazing together, and Relentless is a perfect fit with Academy Rector. However, if you don't run Hunt or Rector then Garruk might not be right. His loyalty not moving past 3 is a significant detriment if his 'fight' or wolves are not being abused.
Elspeth has various benefits, oddly the best one might be planewalker ruling out the opponents Elspeth as jumping tokens and her Pw's ability to dodge deed make her a formidable win condition against us. Secondly, her tokens are white which gets around sword of feast and famine. Her jump gives us active non-destroying outs to moat. She is also the best PW at 'winning' vs. other walkers by producing evasive 4 loyalty hit squads.
Wildspeaker is powerful, producing formidable threats while increasing loyalty. However, I can barely get behind running 4 mana PW's let alone 5 mana triple greens. If I were to use him it would be at the expense of any other 5 drop.
I love lifegain in nicfit, because unless they are doing something unfair (dredge, storm, emrakul) we tend to pull away late game. I already run 2 ooze MD, which I think will become the standard, and have 2 finks md which is a metacall (zoo, burn, URdelver, pox, etc). Sorin gives the 1-1 of elspeth, possible lifelink to prolong the game, and a swiss army removal effect. He should have applications in versions of nicfit.
TLDR - I have ran between two and five (liliana, garruk 2, 3, elspeth, gideon) PW's in my 60 card list and have settled on only 2 liliana. I have opted for 3 drops instead of 4 drop walkers. Actively waiting for the day I can reintegrate them.
Also, I don't really like tokens and Deed. I understand they let you rebuild if you pop it, but they still have negative synergy.
Not really. If you are activating deeds are few things are likely: A) All creatures are dead and we are in a winning position because we have a stronger late game. The fact that they were tokens is moot. B) All creatures except our 4, 5 or 6 drop is dead and we are in a winning position.
I've been enjoying the 1-of Solemn Simulacrum in my list, it can ensure you never run out of gas.
Is Teeg super-needed main? The deck doesn't really care about Force of Will, and Wrath of God. I guess he's a just-in case of combo, but you'd have to be lucky to get to 3 mana and green-sun him out before you lose.
On a side-note, Karador, Ghost Chieftan? He's probably wayyyyy too cute but I can imagine at least testing him would be amusing. I think I'll try him and see what happens.
I have a 1-of Teeg in SB but have also been using Rule of Law for combo/storm and been loving it, being able to fetch it with a Academy Rector is awesome. My game winners usually end up being Thrun, The Last Troll with Sun Titan
1. he buffs up most creatures in our deck. deranged hermits now make 3/3 squirrels with him out. Let deranged hermit die from echo, have him come back with 4 more squirrels. 2. He brings most of our dudes back with undying (yeah yeah, eternal witness wont come back). Most of our dudes have ETB affects, which makes this even more powerful. Who cares about 2/2 zombie fodders for recurring nightmare when we can bring our own guys back, even stronger, with ETB affects. 3. he has a neat bonus affect of killing attackers in random decks. knight of the reliquary, dark confidant, snapcaster mage, grim lavamancer, random dudes from D&T, etc. 4. He has evasion. Intimidate makes it much harder to block him.
Mikaeus has a ridiculous interaction with Ghave, Guru of Spores. Ghave can remove +1/+1 counters from creatures returning with undying and make 2/2 saproling tokens, which allows for your creatures to come back indefinitely. You can pretty much make an endless supply of tokens (provided you have the mana) with these two cards as well, since when you run out of +1/+1s you can just sac ghave with his ability and have him come back with undying.
With mikaeus not in play, ghave still allows for some solid token generation and provides a sac outlet. You can use the saprolings as blocker bate and sac them before damage to give ghave the counter back (or any other creature).
Stick in a karakas and you can use it as tech to keep your mikaeus or ghave alive and bounce stuff like emrakul and other annoying legends that might be a problem.
I think i am going to replace a grave titan with mikaeus, but I'm not really convinced with ghave. Since mikaeus was just leaked I havent done any playtesting yet. I'm not sure how I would make room for ghave.

If Karador had a CMC of 7 I think I could get there with him since he would be upgradable from a Titan via Birthing Pod. He's definitely way too cute at CMC 8 though. Solemn Simulacrum, however, is just the kind of guy you would want with a Birthing Pod version of Nic Fit. I'll put him in the considerable cards list.
Teeg just works well as a staple against the occasional wildcard deck that will get thrown at you - Stax, Enchantress, Aluren - and he is still great against combo, though I will always try to stick Ethersworn Canonist first.
has anyone seen the new mikaeus yet? he seems like he would be pretty ridiculous in nic fit.
Triple black in a tri-color deck... I'm not personally going down that road. The "non-human" interaction cancels out not only Witness, but Explorer and Rector as well. Grave Titan's trigger is always going to work.

How often do you hardcast a titan vs podding or recurring them in? Also, phyrexian tower makes it much easier to get black mana. 3 black shouldn't be that hard mid to late game unless you're facing a deck with a lot of mana denial.
As for stability with creatures coming back, you do have a point. However, considering more than 50% of your creatures would quality for undying, I think that might be worth it. I'll playtest and see.
Went to a weekly Legacy event and went 4-1, splitting prizes in top 4. 32 people showed up for the event. This deck is crazy good--here's the list I ran:
I go for the throat game 1: going turn 1 Forest, Explorer; turn 2 Tower, Hermit; but it get's Force of Willed. He Stifle's something, Snapcaster Mage's something else, but I grind out all his answers and drop Recurring Nightmare, looping the Hermit. It ends pretty quickly after that.
He plays an early Brainstorm, I cast an early Therapy, then Surgical Extraction his Brainstorms away, not wanting him to Snapcaster them back, then drop Thrun (or Brock Sampson, who he has thus revealed himself to be), and he never comes back.
1-0 (2-0)
Round 2: vs. Merfolk
Game 1 I don't remember much: I think I removed everything with Pulse, Deed, and Swords, then let Brock do what he do (slaughter innocent henchmen until he brings evil-doers to their knees)
-1 Fauna Shaman; +1 Pernicious Deed
Game 2 I keep a shoddy hand with little (or more likely no) removal, and he gets a big Coralhelm Commander fast and reminds me why I don't do that.
Game 3 I take some early beats, Therapy some business away, and proceed to Deed, Deed, E. Witness Deed, Thrun, Green Sun Witness Deed, Deed. He was mad.
2-0 (4-1)
Round 2: vs. Zoo
Game 1 was one of my favorite games all day, taking at least 30 minutes of our round time. He pushes, I remove some things, gain some life with Ooze. He pushes, I Deed. He pushes, I drop Brock and stabilize. He drops Jace, the Mindsculpter and fateseel's a couple things away, but I manage to find my second Deed to clear the critters, then top-deck a Pulse for the Jace. Brock cleans up before he can burn his way back out.
-2 Fauna Shaman; +1 Pernicious Deed, +1 Finks
Game 2 ended much more quickly with me ramping into Deed, then dropping an unexpected Sun Titan. He laughed at the impossibility of the task at hand, and I quickly proceeded to beat his face in.
Game 2 is a little more interesting, with him playing some elves, me Deeding the elves; him Intuition for 3 Vengevines, me Extracting his Vengevines; him playing some elves, me not doing much of anything; him Extracting my Deeds, my sad-face.
This is the guy who lent me the Dual land: thanks again! I know what he's playing, so I Therapy naming Stoneforge and get a hit, we take turns playing things / removing things, him mostly keeping me off tempo with Wasteland and Vindicate, but a couple Explorers help fix that and I let Thrun do his job.
(no changes)
Game 2 he does the thing with the Wastelands and Vindicates again, but this time his Terravore beats my nothing-because-I-Never-Got-Off-2-Mana.
Game 3 goes a lot like Game 1.
4-1 (8-4)
At this point there's a cut to Top 4 (I think I'm seeded 3rd), and we agree to just split the prizes. The other decks were the Elves! deck I played round 4, a Bant deck I never saw (but someone made a comment to him about it), and the 4th deck I'm not so sure about.
Things I learned about the deck (this was my first time playing it):
- Deranged Hermit, while fun, is more of a stabilizer than a kill-condition (unless paired with Recurring Nightmare). It's also not a good idea to get him Path'd because you tapped your Tower like a dumb-dumb; also not a good idea to let the opponent Phyrexian Metamorph your Hermit after seeing it with a Therapy (both mistakes I made vs. Zoo). Brock Sampson, however, sticks his foot so far down peoples throats it comes out the other end. I realize I've said a lot of superfluous things about Thrun this report, but they're all true.
- Fauna Shaman: I thought turning all late-game creatures into GSZ would be awesome, but it was mostly un-needed. I'll likely cut them and the Marauder for 3 Hymn to Tourach--making the Duress in the board more-or-less un-needed, but the Board needs a bit of an overhaul anyway. I imagine I'd feel similarly about Birthing Pod and Garruk Relentless--great late game, but usually serves a purpose only when we're in a solid position anyway.
- Facing the Junk player made me really think about whether or not the 3rd color is necessary: I could just as easily run some combination resulting in 3 Go for the Throat / Dismember instead of Swords / Path, and Indrik Stomphowler or Viridian Zealot over the Pridemage--but I love those cards too much (plus ease of Teeg post-board), so I may just try to dodge Vindicates. Wastelands by themselves were OK against me, but not stellar.
- I know the mana-base needs work, but I'm a poor Grad. Student living on a negative budget, so this is the best I can do for now. If I keep doing well, I can slowly replace the Ravnica duals with ABU ones.
- With the addition of Hymn main, I probably don't need the 3 Duress in the board; add that to the fact that I never needed / don't really like Mindbreak Trap, and I have 7 sideboard slots to work with. Given the meta I've seen there thus far (this is my 3rd or 4th tournament at this shop), I'll probably bring something like this nextime:
Again, if I had more dollars, I'd put 2 Liliana of the Veil and 2 Damnation over the Perish / Crypt. So it goes. Perish and Crypt will still be phenomenal, as both Elves! and Dredge / Breakfast variants seem to lurk about.
Sorry for the long-winded post. tl;dr: This deck is awesome, and only gets better if you actually know how to play Magic (as opposed to whatever it is I do).
How often do you hardcast a titan vs podding or recurring them in? Also, phyrexian tower makes it much easier to get black mana. 3 black shouldn't be that hard mid to late game unless you're facing a deck with a lot of mana denial.

Ok, so I playtested this card more. It is really ridiculous once you have board position, but if its the only guy out, its not so good. It's a win more card. I can see this as a 1 of SB card against UR tempo, death and taxes, and maverick considering the amount of humans that are in them.

3 Ethersworn Canonist
2 Tormod's Crypt
2 Perish
2 Choke
1 Kitchen Finks
1 Pernicious Deed
1 Gaddock Teeg
Again, if I had more dollars, I'd put 2 Liliana of the Veil and 2 Damnation over the Perish / Crypt. So it goes. Perish and Crypt will still be phenomenal, as both Elves! and Dredge / Breakfast variants seem to lurk about.
Sorry for the long-winded post.
tl;dr: This deck is awesome, and only gets better if you actually know how to play Magic (as opposed to whatever it is I do).

Ok, so I playtested this card more. It is really ridiculous once you have board position, but if its the only guy out, its not so good. It's a win more card. I can see this as a 1 of SB card against UR tempo, death and taxes, and maverick considering the amount of humans that are in them.
