Sometimes we are hell-bent, but other times we Dredge so much we are routinely discarding. And U builds don't run Manabond. Honestly I think I prefer Creeping Tar Pit.
I know it's beyond stupid, but I want to try that new "Kill you if you're at 13 life" card. We can make them gain life off groves or lose life from punishing fires.

After a poor showing last week, I managed to go 4-1 for 4th place at this week's Legacy event at my LGS. My only loss was R1 to Delver (ugh), then proceeded to beat BG Loam Pox, RW Prison, Storm, and Eldrazi in the remaining rounds.
My loss to Delver ended up coming down to never drawing a Maze or Punishing Fire to kill his single Delver in G3 that he kept through a Tabernacle due to running two basics.
The Eldrazi matchup was suprisingly good (I'd never played against it before), and the Storm matchup was a very commanding 2-0 due to amazing starting hands on my end and slow hands on his. G1 had a t3 kill with Exploration, 4 lands (1 was Stage), and a Crop Rotation. G2 involved a T2 Trinisphere followed by a t5 kill (since I couldn't Crop Rotate and activate Stage in the same end step due to Trinisphere).

lots of lands in legacy make tokens on the cheap, plus running a lingering souls may have some advantages in some match ups while up ticking to make westvale abbey's transform condition viable.
I got to 10 lands faster than he did and dredged ulamog into my yard, with volrath's stronghold I put it on top and following turn exiled my opponents 2 plains, keeping him off of Entreat the Angels. much to my surprise he went for a jace, the mind sculptor and bounced my ulamog. which was terrible for him, but I played it again and exiled more stuff. he quickly scooped.
I did the same thing to him game 3, he made it more difficult with rest in peace on the field, but over all I grinded it out by keeping him tapped down via rashidians, eventually I top decked Ulamog, and killed his RIP and only plains. all he could do was counter spell. I had stronghold ready again and got my ulamog back for more land exiling.
I know this was directed at Cythare, but I figured I'd chime in. I've personally loved uba mask in the blue builds. It strengthens Port and prevents people from building up action by biding their time. It just synergizes so well with everything the deck does. I keep considering moving it to the main along with Trinisphere.
Also, remember that uba mask is a replacement effect, so you can choose to apply the dredge replacement effect with life from the loam instead.
Just got to say, you've definitely earned distinction as an MTGS hero

Because he's the hero MTGS deserves, and the one it needs right now. So we'll global him. Because he can take it. Because he's not just our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. An expired rascal.

ExpiredRascals you sir are a god-like hero.

ER is a masterful god who cannot be beaten in any endeavour.
My experience with Uba Mask has been pretty solid, but I prefer keeping it in the side (at least for now). Everything that ExpiredRascals says above is true, and it also helps turn off countermagic (assuming it doesn't get countered itself). That said, I did try running it in the main deck once, and it may have just been the specific tournament, but it ended up being clunkier than I expected.
Are there any matchups in particular you had in mind for the mask, or just when it feels right?
I am also on intuition lands but my list doesn't add anything special not already seen in the previous examples
Whoops, I read this and thought I'd responded, but clearly didn't. I really like Uba Mask versus Miracles, and it's solid against most blue decks (since it interacts with Brainstorm), and can be decent against decks that just don't have a high number of basics, allowing you to Wasteland/Port to lock them off of most draws.
I guess that I'm basically talking myself into trying it in the main deck, since it's generally good, and can be great or bad for certain matchups, but I just haven't found space for it. I'm considering going down to 2 Crop Rotation tonight to take it for a spin, and I'll see how it goes.
Hey guys, I've been wanting to get back into legacy for a while now and I've loved lands.dec. What version would you guys recommend? I've seen several lists floating around but due to my lack of experience, I have no clue where to start. As budget is not a long term concern, any advice is welcomed!

Hey! R/G lands typically has better showings in tournaments, but in terms of playstyle, it is more linear and more of a quicker combo deck with some of the same lock pieces (4 ports/4 waste) as traditional RUGx lands. RUGx lands gets access to tutors like Intuition, Tolaria West and can use other cards like Academy Ruins and Engineered Explosives.
You could always build an R/G list, and then proxy up some tropical islands and a few other cards and playtest the RUGx versions to see which one you like better since they typically share a lot of the same cards.
Thanks! I was looking at the Punishing Fire Version so that's probably the way I'll go for now, though Vortexes are an awful lot cheaper than Groves Is there any particular reason to pick one over the other?

It's personal preference, really. Having vortex be uncounterable once it's in play is great, decks like miracles have almost no way to interact. Oh the other hand, it opens you up to decay and dredging it away. I personally like grove/fires since you can always recur either piece back from dredging enough times.
i'm a complete noob at this deck but i was looking to buy into either this or miracles. is Crucible of Worlds worth a shot in this deck or does Life from the Loam do a lot of work for you?

Depends on your list... the crucible is a win-con if you play it with ghost quarter.
You can literally strip away every land in their deck.
Also, I've had many opponents surgical extraction my Loams, which makes crucible a very important piece.
However, constant graveyard hate like rest in peace shuts off both Loam and Crucible.
If you do lean towards crucible then Academy Ruins is another card you should look at.

Thanks for the reply! Also, how do you remove Glacial Chasm if you want to depths+stage combo but can't attack with it? Is Zuran Orb the only option? I guess you can Wasteland it too, but it's a situation I'd really not want to get into...

I got a win against an excellent miracles player, his board: counterbalance, sensei's divining top, jace, the mind sculptor AND blood moon!
I kept dredging knowing I would hit riftstone portal and make enough worm harvest tokens to kill him in one turn...
