I just showed how the storm player only needs a single bounce spell and 2 mana in addition to what they need in a goldfish win to beat 2 pieces of protection. How is this "a lot of things" that have to go right? Combo has always been a really bad matchup for enchantress; merely having 4 enchantment that give you shroud in the sideboard does not change this.
So if I go T0 Leyline and T2 Sterling Grove, they can still beat that "easily"?

And what if I have two T0 Leyline?
HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW?!?!
You don't face-off against combo much do you
Couple things here:
ANT / TES are fairly consistently T3 decks
To get Leyine in your opening 7 is something like 40%
Chances of getting 2 Sterlings in your opening 10 = 12%
Chances of getting all 3 by turn 3 on the draw excluding required GW mana = 40%*12%= Just under 5% Or 5 out of 100 games.
In short it's not much of a strategy. The worst feeling is when you are lucky enough to get a Leyline turn 0 and you have Sterling on the stack and they respond bounce Leyline. It's happened, and it sucks.
Combo is hard for Enchantress, and cannot be ignored online. ...but a combo of Stony, Gaddock, Leyine makes it competitive. It's not the most elegant thing, but it's also not terrible. Keep in mind that when Gaddock comes in Helm should come out. ...unless you want to bounce Gaddock with your Karakas to cast it which is risky.
Hopefully I'll have my "combo" list up soon. It's something I've been meaning to build and looks like I'll have my chance to play it friday and Sunday.
Needless to say, I'm not sure how I'm going to fit in cabal therapy and veteran explorer yet.
Tendrils is very much win more. That said cadaverous bloom is simply amazing. Focusing on the combo win has helped immensely and the ability to still play replenish is solid. I shall definetly move forward with this.

Wanted to inquire on something. For decks that is packing Green Sun's Zenith as an additional enchantress effect, or perhaps a singleton Dryad Arbor as well. Would one Worship be a good pick instead of say Moat or Sphere of Resistance?

I'm also always looking for friendly players in League of Legends IGN Dread Return, doesn't have to be competitive, just be nice and friendly.

While I used to play worship, solitary confinement fills its role plus ivory mask for less mana. Sphere of safety is also a functionally better moat in the deck. Hopefully that indirectly answers your question.

Yes. Yes they do beat that fairly easily, thats my point. With Past in Flames they only need to find a single bounce spell to remove two permanents. This means that you either need tripple protection if you are trying to stop their win condition, or you need somethimg that prevents them from going off like teeg, thalia or rule of law. Chalice of the void, rest in peace and (despite my objections to the card) stony silence would fall into this second category as they interfere with the opponent even though they dont completely stop the opponent from going off.
I thought RiP was a given here. Sheesh!
My main wincon is Riphelm so I'd say I'm in slightly better position here than if I weren't.
GSZ'ing for Gaddock Teeg seems risky because the first chance you get, it may already be turn 3. Not saying it's a bad idea, just wondering how the heck we could incorporate it here without murking the rest of our plans.
Made changes from my list on Friday since I got to see how stuff worked in a game setting. The plus plus was the deck performed even better and still has room for more improvement. Missed out on top 4 due to bad luck (20+ cards and no enchantress).
Hight light reel worthy was the double nut draw against storm. I never thought I would combo before storm but it happened twice (turn 2 and 3). No one ever expects enchantress to be that fast. I know I didn't.
Noteworthy were the eurekas in the board and the rip in the board that allowed me to play replenish still. I shall post the updated list soon. Also I think the cut to 19 land worked out well.

So i just got back from GP NJ, and i thought i would share my results. This was my first legacy event, my first time playing with the deck so i made some misplays but i think you'll be shocked at my results. So this Gp had upwards of 4000+ people obviously 9 rounds and depending on your record to make day 2 etc..
Game 1 Storm: Of course i get paired with this first. Was a very nice guy, he went off turn 2 (he was on the play) Game 2 i landed a choke which slowed him down and a leyline but he proceeded to bounce it and go off, my draws were very bad. I didnt expect to win this matchup anyway
0-1
Game 2 Miracles: I am optimistic about miracles match up, game 1 I drew upwards of 20+ cards and got him with RIP/helm even through the counterbalance lock. Game 2 i made the mistake of fetching with sterling grove for the wrong enchantment (solitary confinement) when i had helm in hand and shouldve went for the win and got rest in peace. Game 3 i sided in sigil of the empty throne, i landed that but with no enchantress's and couldnt win the entreat angel war and he got there.
0-2
Game 3 Burn: Burn is by far our best matchup, solitary confinement game 1, leyline game 2. Nough said
1-2
Game 4 Esper Stoneblade: Game 1 he was very aggressive, stoneforge into batterskull but i landed an elephant grass which stopped him for a while until i got an engine going and landed emrakul when he was at 15. Game 2 he mull's to 5, keeps a 1 lander and i had the nut hand of 2 lands 2 growth effects 2 enchantress's and a sterling grove, needless to say i made easy work of that and won.
2-2
Game 5 U/R Delver: This falls into the same category as burn as they have not much sideboard action going on, Game 1 he got me down to 1 before i landed a confinement with 4 enchantress effects and went off with emrakul. Game 2 i sided in carpet of flowers and choke, i landed both of them game 2 and he scooped very quickly
3-2
Game 6 Burn: Pretty much the same as my burn matchup before
4-2
Game 7 Jeskai stoneblade: Game 1 i won with helm/rip due to him keeping a very agressive hand with no counters which was fine with me due to me having confinement out. Game 2 he won with meddling mage naming enchantress's presence and containment priest that shut off my GSZ. Game 3 i resolved city of solitude which i mainboard and was the MVP of the GP, it won me the matchup not having to worry about counters etc.
5-2
Game 8 Esper Stoneblade: Pretty much the same results as my matchup in the previous round, batterskull vs elephant grass. Elephant grass wins every time.
6-2
Game 9 Bug delver: Game 1 i have him locked out on 1 life with confinement and city of solitude in play, i was gonna go off next turn with emrakul, he had a true-name and a goyf on board with no cards in hand. He topdecks abrupt decay, kills my confinement and kills me. That topdeck. Game 2 he golgari charmed my presence, lillian'ed my argothian and thoughtseized my sterling grove. I top decked choke while he was tapped out. I topdecked rest in peace to nuke his 2 goyfs he had and his deathrite, i then drew a GSZ and chained a bunch of enchantments and won the craziest game of the day with emrakul, Sharhar Shenhar was next to me and applauded me for that as he was watching during a deck check that took forever for them. Game 2 he had played 3 golgari charms and 2 abrupt decays against me, it was rough and he hymn'ed me i almost pulled it out, but couldnt get there.
6-3
I missed day 2 due to the last match but i was one of the few enchantress'es players to make it that far and i had some misplays during the day i feel that could've won me the miracles game during match 2, but overall i was so happy i went 6-3.
The next day their was a super sunday series, 500+ people signed up for 10 rounds ill give a short brief on that.
Match 1 Jeskai Delver: Easy. 2-0 i started playing more sound and crisp Sunday and felt like this was a good matchup.
1-0
Match 2 Esper Stoneblade: The more i play this match the more i like it, even though they have meddling mage etc it still is a good matchup which i 2-1'ed.
2-0
Match 3 MUD: I won the first game with RIP/helm through a chalice on 1, game 2 he went blightsteel with lightning greaves and the next game he went nuts and got out like 3 lodestone golems or something.
2-1
Match 4: My opponent never showed up.
3-1
Match 5 Miracles: Redemption. I easily won this time, no misplays just crisp magic, got the engine online both games which he couldnt stop, emrakul sealed it up, i beat it 2-0
4-1
Match 6 Jeskai delver: This guy was an ********, so im glad i beat him, he was very cocky when i lead off with wild growth (not knowing what he was playing against probably) but i made easy work as i got 3 argothian enchantress's out and went nuts. 2-0
5-1
Match 7 Bug Delver: Same as the saturday matchup, he knew how to board and what enchantments to kill/counter, very experienced player he won 2-0
5-2
Match 8 vs Sam Pardee playing DnT: This is my first time playing a pro i was very nervous, he one game 1 with on curve avenger through vial followed up by brimaz, i mulled to 5. Game 2 i locked him out, and won with emrakul, game 3 he made a misplay of not knowing what to name with revoker and didnt name helm, i got helm out next turn, followed by Rip and won
6-2
Match 9 vs Lands: Game 1 rip/helm did it as they dont have much interaction, game 2 he boarded in 13 cards, he had me on an EE lock, the game ended up taking 30+ minutes and he won but we had no time for a 3rd game so we drew.
6-2-1
Match 10 U/R Delver: Same as burn, he didnt have any sideboard, i won 2-0
7-2-1
I placed 19th overall out of 500+ people i was the only enchantress's player to place in the top 32. Overall it was my first legacy event, and in match's i went 13-5-1 which i feel is very good. I was playing G/w sorry to mention that so late, i will post my list later as i changed it after saturday and i have to remember what i changed.
Yes, RIP definitely helps a bit, but that was not in the scenario you presented. What you said was that you'd be safe by having T0 leyline followed by T2 Sterling Grove, and that simply isn't the case. Besides, I already listed RIP as one of the cards that affect the opponent's possibility of going off. If the scenario is T0 leyline, T2 Rest in Peace, T3 Sterling Grove, then I agree that you are fairly safe, but that means you are using 3 pieces of protection (just like i said you would need). However, the probability that you find all three cards is small.
You can normally GSZ for Teeg on turn 2 just like you could GSZ for an enchantress. Although Teeg shuts down some of our wincons, ANT literally can't win while he is in play. So either they get rid of it, or we have time to dig for our Emrakul, Words of War or Karakas. There is also the option of killing the opponent by attacking 10 times.
I'm not arguing with you or presenting scenarios for you to prove or disprove.
I just find it hard to swallow that these combo decks are going to have everything going right for them in each of these cases.
But I defer more to folks with more Legacy experience than I.

Congratz! That is very awesome, and a testament to your play skill. I'd be happy to read whatever else you may have to share. Including your list(s).
SB: 2 Carpet of Flowers
SB: 1 Choke
SB: 1 Gaddock Teeg
SB: 1 Karmic Justice
SB: 4 Leyline of Sanctity
SB: 2 Oblivion Ring
SB: 1 Rest in Peace
SB: 1 Sigil of the Empty Throne
SB: 2 Swords to Plowshares
That is the list i used, im all for suggestions as i am constantly changing the sideboard, but i was very pleased with the list, although for some reason i did keep getting hands with no lands, which is just unlucky but besides that i am very happy with how i played. One other thing id like to share is our matchup vs Bug Delver seems poor, i can always seem to steal or win a game from them but never the match, they have alot of answers (abrupt decay, golgari charm, lilly, counters etc) if anyone has any tips for that matchup id appreciate it. Thanks
I unfortunately didn't do well at all at GP NJ, but I don't think there were any glaring misplays. Perhaps I should have mulliganed more aggressively - I'm not sure. I often had perfectly reasonable hand, but my opponent drew their hate cards and I never found my answers.
Against Burn the maindeck Eidolon of the Great Revel made me unable to go off, and despite multiple turns of digging with Sylvan Library and fetch lands, I was unable to find an answer.
Against UR Delver I felt the matchup was entirely winnable, but in both games he answered my first Enchantress effect and again, despite 4-6 turns of digging I never found another.
Against Affinity I had again managed several turns of keeping my head above water, but could not get the engine going. Game two he got Canonist on field and - as per my day - I was unable to find an answer in time.
Against Esper Stoneblade - see above. I felt like I had all the time in the world, and both games after picking up my deck to shuffle I found 7 of 8 Enchantress effects hiding in the bottom third of the deck.
I admit it's a bit frustrating to lose so many games that seemed entirely winnable. Was it my build? Poor luck? Poor mulligan choices? I don't know. I feel like luck/mulligan decisions were the major factor, but I could be deluding myself too.
Still, it was a fun tournament, got all the sweet swag, picked up a Bitterblossom in trade, and met some cool people. I'd play my deck again given an opportunity.
Regardless of build I'm tempted to call it bad luck. I too went through 20+ cards with no enchantress in sight, and I had 1:6 chance to see one. More frustrating if anything I found the knowingly bad choices I made turn out to be the most fruitful. Honestly with what I just played, enchantress feels well positioned, that's a rarity.

Cadaverous bloom was very much an auto win card with the engine online. I'm certain I will try to up the leyline counts as they help facilitate the fast wins. Eurekas in the board felt like mvp's. I think I may also add a dude plan with kozilek and ulamog in the board. I feel like I'm winning when decks try to cut off our mana since we can readily produce a lot. The additional eldrazi then seems like a strong plan.
The biggest thing I feel I need to point out was cutting a land. There are 10 ways to get to 3 mana in turn 2 which is what we want. There are also 10 ways to see an enchantress turn 3. Some mulligans are worse now, but the trade off is worth it.
My only problem is your mana base, its not your fixing etc, its that you probably find yourself with hands that can keep a 1 lander but if that 1 lander is a non-basic and you have growth/sprawl effects and they wasteland you your basically done for a while. The beauty of some of the lists is that wasteland does nothing, yeah it can hit a sanctum but you only wanna play your sanctum the turn you plan on using it.
So you are finding an issue with access to only "10 basic forests"? Otherwise you have stated the very reason it shouldn't be an issue. Even as it is I continue to debate cutting the swamp and plains for more forests.

Im just saying, i think enchantress's is meant to be a prison/engine deck where you sacrifice the engine/lock part for more of a combo part, which is very easily shut off, having the prison aspect buys us so many turns im not saying your list doesnt do well for you, i just think if you want to win with helm your better off playing the build with tezzeret
I agree. I prefer the prison version. Everyone else seems to want to play some combo version and I think they are building it wrong. That's where this build is coming from.
Also I'm not sacrificing the engine. It's there while the usual prison tutor half is gone. That allowed for more redundant parts while still keeping enough elements to stall an opponent.
As for playing helm, I'd prefer to stick to parfait for that plan.

So I've been messing around with a black splash for Doomwake and Words of Waste and have been pleased with testing. Doomwake hits a lot of little spots that Elves and Delver are soft too and having him here feels nice. Words of Waste has been really good against the big control decks as Mind Twisting them right out of the game has never felt better. Take that Miracles! Brainstorm looks so bad when they don't have a hand.
One issue I've run into is how to patrician our mana without too heavily relying on non basics and duals. I had Bayou but I wanted white sometimes and I really only ever need black man when going for Doomwake or Words. So I tried Murmuring Bosk. It's a fetchable tri land, but will always enter play tapped. It could be a tempo loss, but who's say we can't just name black with Sprawl and call it a day?
Pretend my sideboard is perfect and needs no changes (HELP PLEASE!!)
I maintain the paradigm that this build probably just a treatise in meta building, but I think that it could be a real thing. Much like Words of Wind in various UG Enchantress, Words of Waste takes a while to actually kill and is probably not a winning card, unlike Words of War which doesn't need THAT much work I'm assuming. (Words of War players may have a different opinion...I have never played Enchantress with it so my opinion is flawed).
Since posting this on The Source earlier this morning, Freggle (pretty much the authority on the site for Enchantress) suggested to cut the Bosk and the Tutors, plus another card for 3 Abundant Growth and a basic Forest and I strongly agree. He also suggested a miser Prismatic Omen but I'm not sure if that is really cool or too cute--also not sure what card I cut for the third Growth.
And what if I have two T0 Leyline?
HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW?!?!
You don't face-off against combo much do you
Couple things here:
In short it's not much of a strategy. The worst feeling is when you are lucky enough to get a Leyline turn 0 and you have Sterling on the stack and they respond bounce Leyline. It's happened, and it sucks.
Combo is hard for Enchantress, and cannot be ignored online. ...but a combo of Stony, Gaddock, Leyine makes it competitive. It's not the most elegant thing, but it's also not terrible. Keep in mind that when Gaddock comes in Helm should come out. ...unless you want to bounce Gaddock with your Karakas to cast it which is risky.
Needless to say, I'm not sure how I'm going to fit in cabal therapy and veteran explorer yet.

I just find it hard to swallow that these combo decks are going to have everything going right for them in each of these cases.
But I defer more to folks with more Legacy experience than I.

Thanks

Also I'm not sacrificing the engine. It's there while the usual prison tutor half is gone. That allowed for more redundant parts while still keeping enough elements to stall an opponent.
As for playing helm, I'd prefer to stick to parfait for that plan.
