It's my turn, I cast Undercity Informer and it resolves, my opponent casts Lightning Bolt. I respond by discarding Simian Spirit Guide and sacrificing Informer triggering his mill ability. My opponent then responds with Echoing Truth targeting Informer. I cast Pact of Negation targeting Echoing Truth, he responds with Mindbreak Trap targeting Pact.
Does the mill ability resolve and the Bolt fizzle?
They can't respond and bolt, you retain priority then do his activated ability which as a COST you sacrifice UcI. It can't be bolted. and they should save the bolt for Labman anyway.
So again, they can't do anything to his ability but Stifle it since he is Sac'd for the cost of his activated ability. Assuming this is casual magic then?
Same works for Planeswalkers: Cast Liliana of the Veil they let it resolve then "in response" they bolt it. Well they don't have priority so you can ALWAYS get her +1 off and then they can bolt her but she wouldn't die.
I'm not into the Underworld Cerberus thing and the Belcher sideboard plan. The first one feels weaker to me and for the later, everyone packs up cards for the Belcher plan. I just feel that Pact of Negation and Nature's Claim deal with yard hate and the first one is another great addition to Chancelor of the Annex and Cabal Therapy to prevent countermagic.
Guys, I'm on the Allspells train too. I wanted to start legacy and Duals are soo much over my budget, so i decided to play no lands instead
Obviously, i'm going without the Belcher side plan too, hope i'll do fine. I'll let you guys know. Atm running the most standard possible list, with no chancellor maindeck (but with the manamorphose instead).
I warn you, this deck is the most uninteractive deck ever, it will seam fun for a month or 2 but then you will want to build another one.
There are some decks wich doesn't need dual lands (dredge ahem) or you can totally run budget lands (like fastlands)
Now that eternal masters is coming, I would suggest you to wait and see ~
Oh, and welcome to Legacy !

yeah but f**k those LEDs. I'd have been on dredge if they didn't spiked up to the infinite... Legacy is just too much money. I'll hope to win dual lands with this deck (totally at random) in order to build something more "fair" like Delver strategies or who knows what else. For these months, i'll just ask if they have force of will, even if i'm not a SI player
I would side-out the 4 balustrade Spy 4 undercity informer 1 laboratory Maniac 1 Azami, Lady of Scrolls 3 Narcomoeba and 1 dread return . I figure the white can stay in the deck to help get out enlightened tutor or Rest in peace. Any recommendation as to what I should change or should stay the same? I was also toying with 4 thoughtseize instead of rest in peace, but figured the more combo pieces I have the better.
In theory, I prefer 2 Bridge from Below and 3 Narcomoeba. I originally was goldfishing 1/4 split but after just a few tests I noticed 2/3 was much more forgiving. Same reason I like 3 Cabal Therapy.
Transition looks good to me but Helm falls to Leyline of Sanctity but if they have that you just go back to Main deck.
I'm finally gonna run my list next Saturday at some proxy event; just wanna wreck their hopes and dreams.
How do 2 bridges help over 1? with angel of glory coming into play there are enough humans left to sacrifice that a large amount of zombies isn't really required, especially when only running 3 cabal therapy.
As for sideboard, I figure that maindeck isn't prone to leyline of sanctity so they'll be more opt to side in Yard hate than that. If they do, as you said, i can transfer back to main deck. Either way leyline hurts belcher so the other sideboard option is toast too, at least this way some of their hate could help.
I wish there were more legacy groups on my area to play. Mostly everyone has gone modern or standard which is boring to me lol.

Back in the day, I traded a 4th Ed. Bird of Paradise for 1 LED and a Cabal Therapy.
@ cleverpseudonym : I have not been to GP Columbus, that would have been a blast. At the moment, I don't think that there's really room for the main 60, but there are no sideboard options that are better than some others. LED/Belcher is becoming a known strategy and Leyline/Helm has not had the necessary testing so far. I play a dedicated sideboard not to dilute the main gameplan.
So I've been away from the Legacy scene for several months, but I'm back on All Spells for the Summer and for good! Here's my usual list that I'll be running :
This is completely different from any sideboard strategies we've been trying in the past. No LED/Goblin or Leyline/Helm to win with 7 mana, but make sure to use artifact/enchantement destruction. Also, if there are any Legacy side events at GP Montreal, be sure that I'll try to make it and take it down!
hi everyone! i'm going to build this deck since it seems budget and i really like the combo
i was thinking why isn't Elgaud Shieldmate played as 1 of to protect the maniac?
I don't get why the Angel of Glory's Rise resurgence is happening. What's wrong with the Underworld Cerberus plan? One more slot for other things isn't a bad thing to have.
Played yesterday and was 5-0 when I playtested against ANT with the list I posted the last page. 2-0, 2-1, 2-0, 2-1 and 2-0 in all. I won 6 times on turn 1, 3 times on the draw. The only two loses were due to Gitaxian Probe + Cabal Therapy stripping my hand. The deck is just amazing : smooth, loses to hard discard and to itself when mulliganing too hard. Looking forward to play against Miracles!
This is one really interesting list mainboard :
1) 2 Tinder Wall main is very agressive. Good mana acceleration, but agressive still because they could be stuck in hand with only 2 Summoner's Pact.
2) 3 Wild Cantor is a lot...
3) No Chancellor of the Annex at all in the mainboard to protect the turn 1 against the dreaded Force of Will.
4) What's with the single One with Nothing?
Classic list, will see how it goes. I've been toying with different lists and here are some conclusions:
1) -4 Street Wraith is not better than 4 Gitaxian Probe. I see that you can have extra black for Chrome Mox and you can cycle at instant speed, but having information about the opponent's hand is so much valuable. This is what I'm looking for more, because in the ends :
1) Both draw cards.
2) You can imprint them.
But Gitaxian Probe gets information about Daze, Force of Will, etc. to see when going off.
2) Having Chancellor of the Annex in the mainboard feels great, but Pact of Negation is better. You can just use it whenever you need to counter something, not just turn 1. It can be imprinted also on Chrome Mox for both cards, but colors are not relevant here.
Same conclusions I came to a while ago. Glad to see others also start here. Same MB list as mine, except I swap out 2 manamorphose for 2 wraiths, and am on the 3 Narcomoeba / 2 Bridge plan.
No Azami, no Angel; use Underworld Cerberus as your Dread Return target, then flashback Cabal Therapy and you should always be able to cast Lab Man and cycle Street Wraith after that.
It's a little tough when everyone sides in the grave hate, but then I've been using a transformative sideboard into Belcher and it seems to work just fine.
