Jitte is a possibility. The loss to Burn was 1-2 with a blowout win game 1 and then games 2 and 3 were both decided by the margin of a single turn's damage. I actually had an opportunity to change course in game 3 with a DTT that could have netted me a Tasigur and the black fetch to cast him. I was at 5 life with a Young Pyromancer and a token on the board from the DTT and the opponent at 8. I decided not to go that route because I had a bolt in hand and I was afraid to crack a fetch with no counters available due to Fireblast and Price of Progress. I took a Ponder and a Daze instead, the only blue cards in the 7. The Ponder found me nothing and he Chain Lightning'd the YP the next turn and left me going into the red zone with just 2 tokens. He finished me with a Lightning Bolt/Fireblast combo a couple of turns later when I had him at 2.
The problem on the night was really the mulls. It seems like every other competition I go to with Tempo I get blown out in a round eventually solely due to having just 14 blue sources. I guess it's just the price of playing a low land list with a lot of disruption as part of the plan. I don't really see a way to fix that. I've tried 19 and 20 land builds and they are just a tad short on business early on.
Yeah, the mana can definitely be a problem with these decks. There will be some losses simply due to either not finding any or getting that one land Wasted. Your list is more resilient than my Grixis builds were, the one with Liliana played 19 lands only 15 of which were either blue or found blue... and the lonely Bayou. Plus you've got Stifle, which can be used to defend against Wasteland.
The deck I'm running now, which can no longer be called Grixis, also plays 19 lands. It cuts Wasteland to 3 with an extra one in the sideboard. Here the mana is just 6 duals equally spaced along with 10 fetches. It really helps that the deck plays Sylvan Library. It's almost like Deathrite Shaman #5 in that it can shut down opposing attrition plans.
YMMV on the Jitte plan, I haven't tested it myself and probably won't. I can just remember seeing it in some Team America sideboards back in the day. Jeremy Mee played it in his weird very blue 62-card Probe list that got 6th at an SCG.
I have to thank you for the Tasigur suggestion, he really is large and in charge in so many matchups. Since I've started testing with him he's bossed around all manner of green creatures that had really been bothering me. I'm glad there's a solution to those things that doesn't involve me finally buying Goyfs of my own. He hasn't even been too bad in the DnT matchup either. Half the time they don't have a Karakas and aren't well-prepared to deal with the 4/5. Against RUG, BUG, and the mirrors, he's bullet proof. You can't ask for much more from a 1 mana creature!
Yeah, 1cc for a 4/5 with benefits is really good in a tempo list. Running 1 Gurmag Angler alongside him has been good also. It's not easy to fit it in if you're going with 3 or 4 Young Pyromancer and want to run 28+ instants and sorceries alongside them.
Grixis has a lot of amazing options right now. Whatever else WotC has done to Legacy they've definitely made Goyf a choice instead of a must in this type of list. That's good.
It's been a while since I asked this question but how useful is Tasigur's activated ability? I never use it so I find Angler to be better in most situations. The extra power is very good as is not being affected by Karakas. The only downside is the one extra card you have to exile which doesn't seem to matter much.

Tasigur's ability to draw cards is probably less than 10% of his value. It does get used in grindy games now and then and it does win games when it gets used but that's not often.
I can recall two games that I probably wouldn't have won without the ability since I began using him in BUG and Grixis.
The reason I run a 1-1 split with Gurmag Angler is that Tasigur does come down earlier and he is easier to cast after DTT. The reason I don't run 2 Tasigur is that you can't have 2 of them on the board at the same time and there's at least one other game I've won because I was able to deploy both Tasigur and Angler.
I'll speak up a little on Tasigur's side but the answer really depends on what you want to use this card for. What I want out of this slot is a strong trump in tempo matchups because I play the True-Name Nemesis version (without Goyf or TNN, really it's more BURG than Grixis). Resources are at a real premium here. The lower cost matters. These are games with heavy Wasteland and occasional opposing Deathrite Shamans. One turn might be all that a Nimble Mongoose or Tarmogoyf needs to kill me. In addition to all that, I also want to resolve Dig Through Time as soon (and as often) as possible. In straight Grixis I suppose this is less true, with Young Peezy handling those green monsters more handily than ponderous TNN.
The banana man does the dirty work for less than the more sluggish zombie fish, but don't say I didn't warn you. He is decidedly worse in a head-to-head confrontation, and that has feel-bad-loss potential.
As for his ability, one of the reasons we don't get to activate him very often is the opponent's reaction to him. Against Ensnaring Bridge or trapped below a Meekstone, for instance, he still does something. The threat is stronger than the execution.
Anyone know of a good SB guide/play primer for some of the newer Grixis Builds? I'm thinking of taking it to the Invitational and wanted to see how some better players than me think about the deck...
How does this evolve post DTT banning? The simplest answer seems to be to replace the DTT with Anglers & Cabal Therapies. Is there another card selection spell that you thought was on the bubble that should now get played instead of DTT?

I never played Dig to be honest. I still jammed my heavy tempo version from a few pages ago (similar to RUG) and that will likely not change for me.

I saw about a year ago that a guy named Eric Rill splashed Edric, Spymaster of Trest in a 4 color Delver list, which is essentially Grixis with 1 Tropical Island. I thought that this was SO cool with Young Pyromaster. My question is, is it not worth it to do so anymore? It still is a Blue card to pitch to Force of Will, but I can understand if 3 mana is just 1 too much. What gives?

Honestly, I haven't thought of Edric since the printing of Cruise/Dig. Now that those are banned Edric could be considered again. That said, Edric was never more than a 1-of and, as pages of discussion has proven, could be replaced by anything that could be used based on your local meta. Nowadays, Grixis should run some number Gurmag Angler/Tasiger which are stronger and cheaper on average, both things that are of value to tempo strategies. I suppose Edric could be of use in grindier metas but Grixis' creature suite has become pretty robust lately making Edric less of a factor

Yeah it was a 1 of. I guess it is also pretty vulnerable and in Legacy, you can't be casting 3 mana plays that get tempoed by 1 mana removal. I think if I played in a less competitive Legacy tournament, I would try it as a "fun-of."

It'd be great to see some more updates and discussion now that Dig Through Time is banned.
Unfortunately I have been unable to spend the money on dual lands or Force of Will, so I am playing a kind of ghetto version with shocks and Misdirection for now.
Has anyone tried Hymn to Tourach in this deck? I don't see why we couldn't go a little heavier on the black disruption build and it's a sweet card.
Can someone give me a comprehensive list of the applications of Winter Orb in this deck? I'm seeing a lot of players use it but I don't know what it's used for aside from Miracles and Lands, which seems pretty narrow.
Went 2-2 at an fmn event with the above deck. Lost to death and taxes and manaless dredge. I beat mono-blue show and tell and another deck that I do not remember. I miss played against dredge that cost me game 3. I am thinking about adding bayou in place of the watery grave or a wasteland. 3 of the 4 matches my wastelands tapped for mana and that's it. I am just waiting on the last shaman to come in to replace the one of strix.

I'm actively maintaining a comprehensive article to help explain to new cube players how some complex vintage level cards work in a cube environment. Vintage Cube Cards Explained
I've been fascinated with Delver decks for a long time, so I decided to try my first Legacy brew based around our friendly flyer. I found a basic list and did some minor tweaking to arrive at this list:
This is obviously a "budget" list. I don't own true dual lands, so I've had to make due with shocks for now. Squelch in the side board should obviously be Stifle. And to make matters worse, my FoWs are *gasp* GOLD BORDER! Even considering these facts, I've found that the deck operates fine for casual legacy play, and can even hold up in a multiplayer match.
The creatures are rather basic, with the one unique addition being Death's Shadow. This plays off our shock lands pretty well, and I've considered adding a few more to the sideboard. Deathrite is, as always, a useful 1 cmc planeswalker for us, and Delver lays the hurt on the opponent. Young Peezy also drops tokens on all our interaction spells and cantrips, obviously.
It's mostly the usual suspects for spells, except for Cabal Therapy. I saw this in a few lists and fell in love with it. It works well with Young Peezy, since we can always take a second chance if we whiff. The lands are sub-optimal, but they can be worked around. We only get shocked when we need to fetch them for an immediate answer.
The sideboard is a mess, and I'm hoping to streamline it. I'm considering moving Death's Shadow to the board to make room for a single Edric in the main. Other than that, this baby really purrs.

(I also don't like Tasigur due to Karakas; Gurmag Angler is an easy swap.)
Regarding your list, I think you should consider playing at least one Island to synergize with Daze. Especially with only a single Death’s Shadow, you don’t want to Shock-Daze-Shock. And really, it seems like you should consider playing 3-4 to get ‘value’ out of your manabase.
I would swap Stifle and Cabal Therapy. Stifle is at its best when you can ‘get’ your opponent in G1, and then board out some/all/no copies and force them to still play around it in G2/G3. Bringing it from the sideboard seems a bit less effective.
Your sideboard looks a bit weak to Miracles. Some combination of Pithing Needle, Winter Orb, and/or more red blast effects should help. Sulfuric Vortex is a good option in normal Grixis Delver builds but probably less so here given your shockland manabase.
In light of recent events, I doubt Miracles will be as much of a problem anymore
That deck you posted looks pretty sweet. I agree with your take on Tasigur. I was playing a miser copy in my current list until recently, when I subbed in the Death's Shadow.
Since the Top banning, I've heard plenty of people speculate who's next. I read something on CFB the other day predicting a Deathrite ban, which would be major feel-bads for me. If Deathrite gets the hammer, I would definitely swap over to a list that looks a lot like that one. In that case, I'd also be able to sub in a single island in place of my Breeding Pool.
The problem on the night was really the mulls. It seems like every other competition I go to with Tempo I get blown out in a round eventually solely due to having just 14 blue sources. I guess it's just the price of playing a low land list with a lot of disruption as part of the plan. I don't really see a way to fix that. YMMV on the Jitte plan, I haven't tested it myself and probably won't. I can just remember seeing it in some Team America sideboards back in the day. Jeremy Mee played it in his weird very blue 62-card Probe list that got 6th at an SCG.

1 Swamp
4 Thoughtseize
4 Gitaxian Probe
