No, it doesn't. Look, I'm sorry you can't tell the difference between criticisms of your deck building strategy and personal attacks, maybe it's because you're so used to them being coupled that you just think both always happen simultaneously. I have not insulted you or attacked you, but because you continue to claim that I have I'm done engaging with you. You're not listening to anything I've said (or anyone else here for that matter) and are just playing the victim for some odd reason. I'm tempted to just block you because I don't feel like playing the "Soldier cries wolf" game anymore.
Typical. My deck is only good against bad players. There is no bad players in high power tournaments. WTF! I'm crying wolf.
I bet you are pulling this rabbit out of your hat because you cannot answer the scenario. You know whatever choice you make I have the advantage, and you cannot deal with that.

Why play grim lavamancer?
I'm no longer tempted to block you. I'm just going to block you. I'm done playing your game. You've accused me of personally attacking you several times and I have done no such thing. On the bright side, the next time we hit our bi-monthly "Soldier champions Vexing Devil" part of the thread, I won't be participating because I won't be able to see it.
In testing, Harsh Mentor has been fairly lackluster. The exception to this is Vial decks. I'm thinking it's just going to be a sideboard option, but I could be wrong.
That's pretty much where I'm at, shuffling Mentor and Lavaman depending on the opponent to see which one tests better. Am also considering dropping a Mountain for another Searing Blaze.
IF the main deck mentor is good against so far are vial decks im not sure this is worth it over just smashes and searing effects (which are good in other match ups).

Sweet. Now maybe there will be less quotes of the idiocrisy and my brain cells can be hindered a little less.
With the banning of Top, Harsh Mentor does become less appealing It still hits Deathrites and that alone still might warrant it's inclusion in the mainboard not to mention the occasional value it will generate against D&T with all them Moms, Vials, and Jittes
Here is my *burning* (haha get it... I know not very punny) question: does the banning of Top no longer warrant the use of 2x Vexing Shusher in my sideboard? With the expected rise in BUG Delver decks increase as every Miracles player abandons ship. Maybe that two-of slot in the SB might be filled by Harsh Mentor if I don't end up running him in the main.

I dropped my miracles hate mostly, i still have vortex cause its still good vs delver and randomly show and tell if they play griselbrand. You still probably lose but you may not be drawing dead.
Anyways, point is I think you are fairly safe at this point to reduce your control hate, so far I'm running into tons of delver, D&T, Stoneblade, Storm.
Reanimator is probably Burn's worst matchup. Something like 80-20 G1 and 65-35 postboard. There's not much we can do against T1 Griselbrand, not to mention Iona.
If you want to have a chance, you need to devote at least 4 slots in the SB to it. I prefer Faerie Macabre, but you might prefer Leyline of the Void instead. Or you could just ignore the matchup and hope to dodge it, given that it's still unfavourable post-board.

This list came from the European Legacy Championships a month or so ago (obviously before Top ban and Amonkhet)
Tormod's Crypt is another option. Advantage is that it can be cast if drawn after turn 0.
I won an interesting game recently vs reanimator with it. I had drawn it late and they had managed to put a Griselbrand into play already. Iirc I had to sac all my lands to double Fireblast the Griselbrand, but had a Crypt to deploy afterwards. Rode a Goblin Guide + Crypt with no lands to the win.
I go for Crypt or Faerie, you can cast Crypt through Chancellors by sacrificing a Bolt, and Faerie is always unexpected. Meanwhile if you don't have Leyline after your first mulligan you might as well not have it and it's a terrible top deck.
I'm leaning to splashing black for 3 Shriekmaw and 1 Chains of Mephistopheles. Yes, I do own a Chains of Mephistopheles and the badlands for the splash. Maybe, I should be looking into a different deck?
I like Shriekmaw because of it's Evoke ability and that it can take out almost every 'non-Griselbrand' creature in a show/re-animator deck, as well as goyf. I lost too many games when the opponent play's a 2nd turn Iona. I never really had any issues with Griselbrand. I hate to say it but Ensnaring Bridge don't kill Iona.
As for Chains it does nothing to me. I would like 2 for consistency but I don't have the money to buy a second Chains. Against other decks chains just kills them!
On the sideboard against combo I'm leaning to adding 3 Thorn of Amethyst. I know this sounds insane, but please hear me out. I love Eidolon but the damage can be avoided such as playing Angel's Grace. And some 'good' players could try to combo enough cards so they could regain life with Tendrils of Agony and play the combo again for the win. I used to like Mindbreak Trap but that was before an opponent cast Orim's Chant and combo for the win. Thorn stops all that BS, the combo player is now force to add one extra mana for their spells, and loosing momentum very fast. The downside against us is that our spells cost 1 extra mana, sure we don't have the speed but combo would have a hell of a time pulling off a quick win. I ended up buying 2 more throns, so I could test this out.
Black splash I'm undecided. Maybe a different deck would be appropriate. I love the ability of fast creatures and fast damage, but I'm also looking for something that sucker punches the opponent. I'm open for suggestions.

White is the best splash if you need to make any. Rest in Peace is better than LotV, you get access to Journey to Nowhere vs Emrakul and Wear // Tear kills Chill for W.
I don't sideboard vs Combo other than Pyrostatic Pillar if it's been rampanth. Eidolon by itself tells Storm, Elves, Belcher, All Spells and Infect "win turn 1 or pick up your cards".

Eidolon is a main card slot. I would pull out my searing cards for combo. Pillar is a good card, but it don't answer the cards that combo would be using to shield themselves from death.
Splashes do have issues. Good luck with the splash but the deck is not burn. As for Thorn... 38 spells are going to get hit by the casting cost boost. Do you really think that would be a good direction to go.
Been playing burn for about 6 months now and having always been a red aggro player it suits me just fine.
I'm going to a big event soon and want to prep my sideboard for a wide open meta, not knowing at all what I'm going to run into. My mainboard is the typical list, mine with 1 Searing Blaze and 2 Sulphuric Vortex main, and 21 land.
Up until rotation and Top banning, I was running 3 Exquisite Firecraft in place of the Mentors (who are there despite Top's ban)... these can easily swap out but they aren't the worst.
I plan to add 2 Ensnaring Bridge to the sideboard, cutting... something. Not sure what yet.
Any thoughts, tips, suggestions? Anything at all that might help my chances against an open field.
Is the OP consistently updated? Does it includes cards up to the current set or will it be perpetually stuck at like 5 years ago or something like that?

Someone brought a Rakdos burn deck to legacy with Vial Smasher the Fierce, turns out hes pretty good with Fireblast or Gurmag Angler
But at this point it's starting to be a different deck
My solution to an on board iona is to scoop and hope I can either hate in the grave or kill the player before he gets it next game
"Are you serious?" Chandra replied.

Sorry but it's not a realistic solution.
Vial is cute but it seemed too much theme-y for my taste.

Splashing colors in Burn is generally not worth it, and BBE definitely doesn't change that. BBE is way too expensive, anyway.
