So I have been messing around with Niv-Mizzet Reborn in MtgA, and have found that decks that can use him well are very fun and powerful. So the format I play the most is legacy and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas or card suggestions for Niv in a legacy deck, so far I have been thinking of using him in a five-color combo deck and then using Niv to search for the cards, but I don't know what combo to use.
The thing that strikes me immediately is "Manamorphose infinite". Not sure what second piece there is for that that's exactly two colors, but Djinn Illuminatus accomplishes it well enough - however, that doesn't seem Legacy viable at all.
If I am going to cheat a dude into play it probably won't be this, he just does not do enough cf Grissy B or Emmy. 5 cols is pretty hard in a Wasteland format, you can natural order him into play I guess, just as you would Progenitus. There are so many two card killer combos in the format- Grindstone/Painter, RIP/helm Show and Tell and Grissy or Omniscience etc. that casting this to get combo pieces, especially in a format with some tutoring (entomb, enlightened, infernal etc.) and frankly the whole blue cantrip suite to boot, well it all seems a bit pointless. I mean it can draw cards but so can Grissy, and in decks like Tin Fins it shoots off and keeps shooting t2.
If I am going to hard cast the dude, I am probably not going to be playing Legacy, it seems more of an EDH card, unless some tech comes along that allows you to get him into play t1 after being exiled to a t1 shoal or force type card and then allows you to combo on the spot to a win, which brings us back to your original question. At the moment the tech I do not as being there, but it might in future.

People with belligerent signatures are trying to compensate for something....
Seems like it could work in Dream Halls but the deck would be reworked pretty hard to get high quality Guild pair cards in I would think. I assume you'd pick blue as your base and then the guilds you are mainly looking at are Dimir, Izzet, Simic, and Azorious. There is probably enough control and combo elements in those pairs to figure something out from that.
Aurelia, the Warleader + Brago, King Eternal is one two "guild" combo that I can think of, but Brago would need to be able to attack (and connect) and I can't really think of another guild card + guild card combo this could draw into, but I'm sure there is something (ideally not Izzet + Izzet or whatever).
