Hi, I'm thinking of building a combo burn deck... Here is the list of cards I'm working on and I would like to know your thoughts on the deck.
I'd play tested it a few times with a friend and the results were semi good. I'm not sure if this type of deck is ready for a real tournament but I think it can once I fix the holes.
I would suggest going even heavier on the synergy by splashing for delve spells. Hooting Mandrills tramples through TNN, which you otherwise have no outs to. Also, Eidolon is necessary if you want any hope of ever beating combo, yet it really crimps the deck's plan.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.

What Delve spell?
I'm playing Eidolon in my bun deck. I dont like Taylor Swift with Eidolon in the same deck, so I decided to build a deck that combo's well with Taylor Swift.
Awesome, I had not thought about Manamorphose... (what should I take out for this?)
I would like to switch out Goblin Guide for something that works well with swiftspear but I cannot find any such card. So Grim and Kird are a little too slow for the deck.
It seems like alot of fireblast. I fiddled around with this deck awhile, i definitely cut the guides since they can quasi ramp the enemy and I think I even tried Shrapnel Blast both with and without artifact lands. I was trying it while Treasure Cruise was legal to fuel even more explosive starts and I think I ran 4 storm entities. My biggest problem was consistency and being soft to my creatures being countered or removed. I never got it to work well enough to consider it worth playing though. Maybe you can.
I think I tried even fast mana and more storm cards before I gave up and some really bad stuff like gut shot to remove blockers.
Rift bolt seems a necessity in order to stack a large turn of burn spells and triggers for monastery swiftspear and storm entity.
Storm entity vs. kiln fiend? Storm entity does come in large and triggers off of more, but kiln fiend kills quicker. toss up, I guess?
manamorphose in place of either bauble would make more sense, as it draws right now vs. next turn. I would likewise suggest adding the 4th gitaxian probe for the same reason.
Hooting mandrils really does make sense because you can cast it really soon in this deck. I would suggest that at least it is worth testing. Either that or become immense over mutagenic growth (it may not be completely free but I would like to bet that it gives you the win then and there, just as it would in an infect deck)
STATISTICS.
All of these "Let's eliminate bad cards" crusades are simply ignorant. And when they start to devolve into "WotC is conspiring to give us crappy cards," they just become embarrassing. MATH is conspiring to give you crappy cards.
After some testing I'm not sold on Morphose because it cost 2 mana. Fireblasts seemed to work well for me. Although I added 4 Taiga. I have mixed feelings on Hooting Mandrills sometimes they work and sometimes he's coming into play on turn 3 which seemed too late for this type of deck.
I wish there was another creature like swiftspear. I added a 4th Storm Entity, they seemed work out better then I thought, sometimes I'm looking at a 4/4 haste on turn 1; which isnt bad because I'll be drawing up 2 additional cards on the next turn.
Goblin Guide I might replace if I can find another creature that fits with my deck. I would like to see a 1cc but willing to accept 2cc (open on ideas here).
I'm leaning on changing lava spike for Forked bolt (or something similar) and Mutagenic Growth for more explosive mana... (maybe)
Thanks... I'm not sure if Ground Rift storm effect works on Monastery Swiftspear and/or Storm Entity... if it does please tell me (or do I need to look into this)
If ground rift storm effect does work then we have a winner
No. Prowess triggers on cast, whereas storm puts copies on the stack. It will not trigger it. However, blistercoil weird, while not having haste like swiftspear, may just be what you want.
When you cast it, the storm makes copies - that are sorceries that Nivmagus wants to eat. Assuming you get them both, it at worst makes a 5/5 (Cast Nivmagus, cast Rift, eat rift and copy). One other spell thrown into the mix, like gitaxian probe, etc, makes him a 7/7 or 9/9 - depending on if you want the probe's draw more. This is second turn ~15% of the time - higher % if you use any draw.
Obviously, both cards need to be decent outside of their own interaction in the deck for them to be included.
Nivmagus is better then he first looks. You obviously don't want to eat anything you need to resolve, but a Land Grant when you're already at curve, a Bolt against creatureless (two swings gives a damage advantage), etc. He can easily grow to a 5/5 without a loss of tempo or position.
Ground Rift is a little more situational, but it's not a bad card on its own. It clears a path for a fat Storm Entity. You're already laying down a slew of spells, so it can easily act like a one sided Bedlam against zoo/etc. Against creatureless, though, it's fodder for sideboard room outside of the Nivmagus interaction.
How well this translates into your deck and meta would need testing.
May or may not work, but worth a look imo.
not quite on theme, but in my burn deck i play two blazing shoals. nice for multiple fireblasts and allows me to play a couple thunderous wraths
not sure if it would work for you, but ive had good success in mine.
it is card disadvantage, but it makes turn 1 wins possible.
Ok, I've been liking Hooting Mandrills over Goblin Guide in this deck. Thanks Adam W for the suggestion. Sorry it took be a few weeks to like this idea

I'm looking for ideas that can make this deck better. Please don't suggest I should play burn instead (I do have a solid burn deck)
