Ive been working on this deck for a while, im currently trying out Waste Not, with a larger discard package. i need to make room for alot of things because of how strong some cards are as well as some musts for match ups in general. i feel because of this my library manipulation is alot weaker then it should be, especially since im running green, the usual pattern seems to be i use up my removal and discard spells fighting problem cards like delver/true-name/equipment and then i have problems with drawing into more cards to keep the game going. so as a result i have a deck that can perform but the shuffle/draw engine wont let me draw into answers as efficiently as the other mid range decks.
IMO, any Waste Not deck requires a few Life from the Loam and Raven's Crime. The possibility to "go off" with only one discard spell in hand and strip 3-5 resources from an opponent is too good. Waste Locks and such are also good reasons.
i tried it in loam pox, i found that the discard package was sub par for two reasons.
1. you run too few, or you dont get all the utility you need
2. the type of discard you run gives no information of the opponents hand early game, i.e. you have to guess with the first card resulting in hitting nothing. in this case that would be cabal therapy and raven's crime
to sum it up waste not with loam pox is sub optimal.
it works really well in mono pox but you need better library manipulation, something that loam pox works around due to the nature of the dredge mechanic and gy recursion
If you're in GB, Pernicious Deed is where it's at. You can run some higher-cost beaters to get around it, such as Desecration Demon, or play Nic Fit's game of ramping with Veteran Explorer.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
i have deed in sideboard, i like to run Maelstrom pulse mainboard if they land a planeswalker or batterskull. i dont really have room to drop anything for explorer but its a decent suggestion. as for the rest of nic fit i dont think splashing a third color would make this deck run better.
in regards to dark ritual its actually bad in this deck, if i drop something for it 14/36 (39%) none land cards need G, only 6(16%) of them need BB, also i have DRS for mana acceleration. finally dark ritual is negative CA which is why im trying out waste not in this shell.
