Okay I want to build a budget legacy deck, lands will be an investment but I don't mind buying those (And I can just use basics until i figure out how to get the deck to really perform) I want to build a cleric deck, the main strategy is to use dark supplicant to get scion of darkness as early as turn 2 with all the one drops in this deck. Turn 1 supplicant, turn 2, two one drops, summon Scion. Edgewalker to power out a bunch of clerics to go off if i draw supplicant later and go off, and the back up plan for when Scion gets swords to plowshares is to have ayli, eternal pilgrim start vindicating stuff because I'll gain 6 off of scion being plowshared, and cathedral sanctifer gives me +3 so i'll be at 29 by turn 4 so 2BW and vindicate something and get that on a stick by droping a one drop every turn and swinging in with Ayli, who has death touch.but i feel like I need one more win condition. I want to build a legacy deck I can take to proxy night at my LGS and win with. I'm not trying to win a big tournoment, but I just want to surprise some people, any advice for a BW deck. I figure that most of the money i spend will be on sideboard cards so I'm willing to hear people out on what I should get, heres the deck i've built so far would love some advice
Like i said I don't have a sideboard yet I'm waiting for input, isfatal push as big in legacy as it is in modern? I really want to fit oblivion ring in here for marit lange. I think BW has a lot of cards that can control the game so I can get my combo off and protect my scion of darkness so he can do his thing, would love some help on this, I'm willing to spend on good modern cards, I really want to build B/W decks so I'm willing to drop moeny on cards that would be good in those colors, marsh flats maybe, and i can just proxy scrublands or just use basics in its place. This deck has a very low curve, three at the top, so I want to get at least one dual and a plains so I can Dark Supplicant into two one drop white clerics, unless I get another black 1 drop cleric, and they are not that good, I can think of a million ways that this deck could get killed, but i feel like theres soemthing here, please help me. LIke i think that swords might not be the right choice, because i want to put the opponents creatures in the graveyard so Scion can get them, so I really want to use fatal push like against burn, but i also need a way to kill indestructibles like mairt lange, my LGS mostly has tier 2 decks like elves and i know there is a B/W card that gives everything -1/-1 so i can take them out, but there are just so many decks in legacy i don't know how to prepare for everything. I am VERY new to legacy and could use some help
My biggest thing is what do I do if I don't get dark supplicant, i feel like I need another win condition, maybe Vile Decon get a possible 5/5 on turn 4, is that good enough? also misery charm can that fit in here, get a cleric back that could be something and high priest of penance another card that stops creature decks, but how do i beat control or combo maybe Kambal, Consul of Allocation to stop storm containment priest to stop reanimator decks but how many of these cards should I put in my sideboard, my instinct is 4 , but that only gives you 4 cards you can put in your side -1 for one deck, what are the decks this would be weak against? do i need more one drops to get the curve to work, i really like mother of runes because she can protect Scion when I get him out
I think Edgewalker is a definite 4 of because you get everything reduced by at least 1 and some guys reduced by 2, ayli is free, edgewalker cost 1, another edgewalker cost 1 would help you power out clerics to sac to dark supplicant
I also feel like i really need card advantage maybe dark confidant especially because my curve is so low, but if hit scion it will really hurt, what are some good W/B drawing cards in legacy?
Okay so i've been testing this online, and it works, scion of darkness turn 2 is very common, and the other clerics protect it, and when i don't get scion it can go wide with doubtless one and vile deacon but the deck is VERY creature heavy right now so i'm looking for a spell suite that can support it, ayli, eternal pilgrim is very good and edgewalker just lets you dump your hand which is fun, again this is super budget and i could see buying some scrublands if this deck performs. please help me with this deck other then lands this deck is super cheap and i can build this for almost nothing if i use sub par lands i really want to build this deck. I have alot of 1 drops so chalice of the void is a problem
i really like this deck and i've actually won a few games (with no sideboard yet) so i think this can work, would love some help, what are some must have B/W sideboard cards
Inquisition of Kozilek is only 2 ticks online, isn't it? 3 IoK 3 Thoughtseize should serve you right against Chalice and Jitte/Swords/other trouble permanents before they become a problem. Fatal Push is indeed the second best removal in Legacy after Swords to Plowshares and I doubt we'll ever get anything better.
The second best draw engine after Dark Confidant is Phyrexian Arena, none of the not-Bobs like Asylum Visitor or Pain Seer are consistent enough and Dark Tutelage is very dangerous because it can't attack and it's harder to remove in black.
A really good inexpensive cards vs Graveyard decks is Faerie Macabre, in decks with white I run Rest in Peace, but in other decks like Burn I always run Faerie before even considering Relic of Progenitus, Leyline of the Void, etc.
Okay been tooling around with this more, since it's so budget I'll make a casual thread too, but I can proxy cards for my LGS legacy night so I really want to unleash this thing. I've been playing online with it and it actually is performing, this thing can win games.
Here's an updated list with sideboard, sideboard is still getting worked on.
Edgewalker is crazy, usually netting you 5 power for 3, not bad, Clergy of the holy nimbus is a great one drop, blocks their one drop and takes an extra mana to bolt it, so he can stay alive for when you activate Dark SupplicantAyli, Eternal Pilgrim Is uesful as just a 2/3 deathtouch even without her abilities, having her on the field is a threat to even the mightiest Tarmagoyf, plus she can combo with Battlefield Medic to stay alive. And Doubtless one can be a good Plan B, potentially a 5/5 lifelinker on turn 4
I had a really good match against burn and I didn't even get Scion out, Lots of 1/1s that can protect themselves and each other and gain you life causes them to run out of gas
2 Vindicates as catchalls for game 1 that will get sided out for more targeted removal like push and swords
I decided on Crypt for graveyard hate because it's free and while minimal, I do have some GY interaction in my deck with misery charm (I actually won a game by doing 2 to the dome with it lol) so i opted for that instead of RIP.
How should I build my sideboard, This deck is alot of fun and people don't see it coming, if I ever did get my hands on the landbase (The only investment in the deck and would be ok investments so I could see actually buying some of them) The deck works, in that, it does what I intend it to do, Scion gets out alot, I can go wide when I need too. But the "Real" decks are just so good it's hard to compete so I think my only way to do that is to hose them, but you can't hose every deck with just 15 cards so I would like to focus on decks that I can beat and just take an L against things I have 0 chance against
What about Academy Rector I feel like if he was 2W instead of 3W he would be soooo much better, but maybe run 4 of him and grab a giant enchantment that's a 1 of in the deck that can do good in most scenarios, but side in 1 ofs of expensive Hoser enchantments and try to win that way
what are some key White and Black cards that really wreck the heavy hitters, White and black seem to have alot of answers, So I want to fill my sideboard with answers to decks in the shell of my OK combo deck. I know this isn't going to get first place, but like i said I want to surprise people at LGS, maybe do pretty good at a Star City event.

I also want room for thalia, guardian of thraben to stop storm, and maybe splitting 2 path to exile for 2 swords to plowshares to hit a crazzy big creature they have, i would rather give someone a land then give them 10+ life,
I also feel like i really need card advantage maybe dark confidant especially because my curve is so low, but if hit scion it will really hurt, what are some good W/B drawing cards in legacy?
I really want to build this deck, please help me
I'm thinking of despise or harsh scrutiny for aggro decks to put a creature in the yard to steal with scion, cavern of souls for control disenchant for chalice

Genrally in my WB Deathblade deck I run 3 SB cards vs Graveyard decks (usually Rest in Peace), 3 Artifact/Enchantment hate (usually Vindicate/Council's Judgment), 3 vs Storm/Elves/Combo (usually Ethersworn Canonist/Rule of Law), 2 vs Show/Random blue decks (usually Oblivion Ring/Pithing Needle), 2 vs Burn/Aggro (usually Kor Firewalker) and 2 vs Eldrazi/Stompy (usually Ratchet Bomb)
