This is my first legacy deck and I was hoping to get some feedback on the composition? It's a sacrificial deck that has some fun synergistic moves (take a look!) I know it's very similar to the zombardment deck, but as of right now I would like to keep it mono black until I have the funds for fetchlands etc. I also know my sideboard is a bit shaky. I previously ran some bitterblossoms in the deck along with jitte, but I took that out for more lands. Any suggestions would help. Thank you!
The list looks relatively sound, just a quick pointer. I've worked on lists like this, and I want to point out that your creature match ups are going to be rough. 6 our of your 22 creatures have the ability to block, so yeah, be ready for that. Additional removal may be required. Something like Blasting Station is another great option.
Thank you Spooky for your feedback. I did not think about blasting station at all. I took out a Geralf and added 2 blasting stations. I also changed changed null rod to gate to phyrexia. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
Looks okay to me. Just try to test a bit before you spend any money and see how well you do against creature decks. The grave pacts might help (I never ran them) but they may also not be enough.
Vampire Nighthawk is a black creature that helps a lot against creature decks. If you splash white, Lingering Souls also fits great into the sacrifice game plan while giving you a ton of chump blockers.
FYI, 4 Bloodghast without any fetchlands and with just the 2 Undiscovered Paradise is a bit shaky. They'll be harder to recur, and the rest of the time they're just awkward dorks that can't block and are too small to attack profitably.
If you want to stick to the zombie theme and can splash blue, I recommend Diregraf Captain. Another Blood Artist effect, lord effect and deathtouch makes it trade with anything.
If you are intent on staying mono-black and in need of blockers, I think Bitterblossom would be the way to go over Vampire Nighthawk. It also combos quite well with the Contamination plan you have in the sideboard even after a Rest in Peace against Miracles.
I also think that going with the sacrifice plan could let you basically Demonic Tutor with Diabolic Intent. The drawback is pretty negligible (if not beneficial) in your deck, and it can let you run a nice tutor package in the board.
I think this main-deck makes you incredibly good against creature-based decks, even those including TNN. Your removal is plenty and clears the way for the Carrion-Crawler combo, Abyssal beatdown, or just slow grind of Bloodghast. I'm not entirely sure about what Matchups you want to board against, but I think a tutor package like this gives you a lot of options to play with.
Notice with Phyrexian Altar you can infinite Gravecrawler and drain them to death with Blood Artist. Blasting Station also lets you do cool things as you already know. But most importantly, because of Diabolic Intent, you can get away with running singletons of these cards. So you can still potentially assemble the combo but you're not stuck running multiples of clunky useless cards.
I like this deck! Because of its blackness, consider dark ritual for acceleration. thought about hymn to tourach ? You have plenty of creature removal which is great but you may sometimes face more spells than creatures in Legacy
