Hey guys. I have made a red/black Dragon deck. I think it is an okay deck where I quickly get out a big dragon. But I know it have some improvements. Please help me find them. This deck was first posted in the "Developing" thread, but might feel more at home here. I would like this deck to be competitive and fun to play, but it is not meant for tournament play. So it more of a casual nature.
This was my last reply in that thread: "Alright, I see the combo deck with Dragonstorm is a different deck. So that goes out, this time. Still I think Bogardan Hellkite is nice, and maybe the Braid of Fire. Ancient Tomb will give some nice acceleration as well. These are additions that seems good to me. What should I add and what should I drop then? Thanks!"
I would add some digging ala Faithless Looting, and upping the number of Bladewing the Risens so you can pitch dragons, and some more ramp like Rite of Flame/ Lotus petal to get you up into your Geosurge range. I think that not necessarily every dragon in the creatures list is playable, I would look only to use dragons that have ETB effects. Bogardan Hellkite is a good example of that.
I wouldn't run Crucible or Sarkhan, and I'd try to get at least one creature that can dodge Swords to Plowshares in the deck.
edit: Maybe some hand disruption to help versus combo and control like Duress and Thoughseize wouldn't be so bad either.
And what's the name of that Shaman who gives you dragon tokens whenever you have a certain number of lands? He'd be better than a lot of the upper end dragons if you turned this into a more controlly deck. You could even keep Sarkhan in that one if you lowered the overall cost of your spells and aimed instead to use his 0 ability to get you mana spells to ramp into Hellkites or something.
Other Dragons I considered, if I was to use Braid of Fire (which I really wanted to use, but is not in the current build) as they function well with that enchantment, that is also good with Dragons I already use, Shivan Dragon, Dragon Tyrant and Vampiric Dragon that has a pump effect, was:
For the feedback I got already (but was not quite what I was looking for, the Dragonstorm route etc.), please look here: http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=397683

Bogardan Hellkite has a very good ETB effect and I have added 4 of him. I have dropped 2 Ancient Hellkites, Furyborn Hellkite and Kargan Dragonlord. I have also dropped 1 Lightning Bolt for to add my second Bladewing the Risen, he is good, but are Legendary. And to make more consistency in my deck I dropped the last 3 Lightning Bolt for 3 Faithless Looting. Also the Sarkhan the Mad's and Crucible of Fires have been dropped for 4 of Rite of Flame. Not so sure if dropping the Lightning Bolts is a clever move, but they went as of now.
The deck looks like this after the changes:
4x Badlands
4x Dragonskull Summit
4x Sulfurous Springs
8x Mountain
Creature
3x Balefire Dragon
1x Dragon Tyrant
4x Dragonspeaker Shaman
4x Hellkite Charger

3x Faithless Looting
4x Geosurge
4x Rite of Flame
Instant:
4x Seething Song
4x Terminate

Scourge of Kher Ridges
Shivan Hellkite
Two-Headed Dragon
Moonveil Dragon
What do you think about using Braid of Fire?
If you see something to change or have any suggestions, please share them with me.
In advance, thank you.
A 1-time shock is better than 1 damage every turn.
