I was wanting to have fun games with my fiancee in a new format with interchangeable decks. 2 things I would like to avoid are combos and draw-go type of control as they can be frustrating to play correctly without detailed knowledge of the deck.
Things I was considering: Jund and Shardless BUG. Are there 2 more decks I can add to this list and have them be mostly equal?
You're essentially describing midrange, creature-based decks. Stoneblade variants and Death and Taxes would fit your mix. Delver decks would as well, albeit they skew towards aggro.

Currently playing:
Standard: I, for one, welcome our new rhinoceros overlords
Modern: Pod's dead, Bob's back.
Legacy: Lands, Deathblade, Death and Taxes, Elves, MUD
Retired Legacy: Merfolk, Goblins, Jund, Delver, Reanimator
Death and Taxes has trouble with both in some ways; but they both have trouble with it; so I think it'd be a good choice. Sometimes you just lose to Punishing Fire, but sometimes you just win from Jund/Shardless terrible manabase; an active Mom with SFM or similar.
Typically Delver variants have issues with these decks; but a UR Delver way work; being essentially not as good burn here; and all these decks can have issues with Burn. UR Delver is quite a bit more entertaining than Burn as well.
Goblins, Burn, Jund, Grixis, D&T, Merfolk, Affinity are all kinda capable of smashing face at around the same speed.
FWIW, Burn is better than what it used to be...

Tiny Leaders Overlord
MUD artifacts is an option, though it is a little reationary.
Jund is good, and if you like combos that don't instantly win the game, try Punishing Jund.
Burn or Goblins are good choices if you want more aggro (goblins isn't very strong these days, but fine for what you want).
Skip elves, skip miracles, skip dredge, skip high tide, skip Lands, skip show and tell decks.
FWIW, Burn is better than what it used to be...
