Just musing, but what are your thoughts about legalizing the International Edition of cards for Legacy and Vintage. The prices for these cards are not cheap per se and they wouldn't flood the market. It'd be a small drop in the bucket, but its better than nothing. It wouldn't violate the reprint policy. We've already seen this done with a retraction of Chronicles from being banned. Everybody uses sleeves nowadays so the card backing should be a non issue. I'm not talking the about the gold bordered cards from the Collector's Edition. I am specifically referring to the International Edition.
Just curious what other people think about this. What do the Eternal Players think?
I understand the margins would be slim. I was just thinking about increasing the supply.
However, I am also curious would anyone have a problem with it. If they legalized it, would anybody be upset? You know, like no fair, you are playing with gold-borders!
The bigger issue is the square corners. As someone who has played some Alpha copies of cards recently, differences in corners become apparent very quickly and this is very bad for competitive magic. It both forces multiple resleeving within a tournament and it opens a new, easy, and difficult-to-prove venue for cheating.
Just got to say, you've definitely earned distinction as an MTGS hero

Because he's the hero MTGS deserves, and the one it needs right now. So we'll global him. Because he can take it. Because he's not just our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. An expired rascal.

ExpiredRascals you sir are a god-like hero.

ER is a masterful god who cannot be beaten in any endeavour.
The square corners make this impossible. Even in a sleeve you can easily tell if a card has square borders even if the sleeve is completely opaque. This really wouldn't *do* anything even if they did legalize IE and CE as both sets have very small print runs the only "good" thing that comes of legalizing IE and CE cards is that said cards would skyrocket/you could make thousands of dollars overnight as there is no doubt that CE and IE cards are very scarce and look exactly like alpha and beta/the pimp factor is incredibly high. CE and IE underground sea's would be going for 3 grand or something ludicrous in comparison to where they currently sit, which is under 200 if I had to guess.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
As some on who has quite a few of these cards the IE & CE both have square corners. Your premise of approving the IE & CE makes no real sense the ONLY difference in the two is the different name on the back of the card. I see no reason to allow these for legacy play as the small print runs would do nothing to offset price or availability.
