Simple question. I recently was able to sell $200 of cards and almost have the amount I need for a playset of Force of Wills. It occured to me that even if I have Force of Wills for my Reanimator deck, I am then still missing the Dual Lands (currently budgeting Shocks) so I am far behind. I also remembered my Death and Taxes deck is missing it's 11 strategic lands (Ports, Wastes, and Karakas). Finally my most completed deck is Elves, but I am missing 4 Cradles before it can be finished. So I have 0 fully completed Legacy decks at the moment, currently on budget, which got me thinking. How many of you actually have a fully completed Legacy deck and if so, do you have more than one?
P.S. Decks you can make include if you have the staples for it and could create it if you wanted.
Right now, I've got 2, Maverick (switching between Punishing, Dark, and GW) and a rotating combo deck, Currently Omni Tell, but switches between some Show and Tell build and Storm. Realistically, I should be able to have both Omni Tell and DDFT togther, but for the life of me, I'm struggling to find a second playset of Gitaxian Probe, of all things
ReAnimator, Big Red and an infect deck all completed. I think I have everything for Lands which I hope to put together after the holidays (no time for any mtg in December)
I'm trying really hard to just have 1 standard deck, 1 modern deck and 1 legacy deck. So far I have consolidated to Jeskai Aggro (standard,) affinity and angel pod (modern,) and I'm missing 1 volcanic, 1 tropical, 2 FoW, 1 wasteland, 1 true-name, and 1 fluster storm for my full 75 of RUG delver.
I would just finish elves if I were you, how realistic is it to finish all three? And even if you did it makes sense to complete one first to bring to tournaments right?
It would be easier to list the decks that I can't make at all. I can make almost every established deck in Legacy either completely intact or with 1 or 2 card substitutions which are usually minor anyway.
These are the decks I can't make at all.
Elves (Just sold the deck because I don't like it)
Painter (No recruiter, Magus, Grindstone, Servant)
Cephalid Breakfast (I don't even know what the heck this deck is)
Tin Fins (missing 2 cards that are key to deck)
Bant Aggro (Missing Noble H and refuse to spend $80 for a mana dork)
Dragon Stompy (sold all my dragons recently)
NO Rug (sold all my Natural Orders when I sold Elves)
Dreadstill (Don't own Standstill)
That's everything listed in competitive that I can't play. Anything else I can put together. I was fortunate enough to be playing this game when dual lands were $12 a pop. I try to bring a different deck each week to our Legacy events. It keeps things interesting and my opponents on their toes because they never know what to expect. This week I'll be playing Grixis Tempo. Next week is MUD and the week after Burn. I make a schedule so I don't have to wrack my brains wondering what I'm going to play on any given day.
Decks I can play:
UWr Miracles
Esper Stoneblade
UB Tezzeret
UWR delver
UWR stoneblade
Deathblade
Stuff I could build if I bought like 20$ of SB cards:
4color/Grixis Delver
UR Delver
Like many legacy players, I don't own decks. I own staples. I have an 800 count box full of legacy cards all sleeved the same way so it is easy to put together whichever of the decks I want to play. However, it didn't start out that way. When I first bought into the blue side of legacy, I started with Esper stoneblade and after that slowly just added staples to make other archtypes. However, with this method I cannot make two legacy decks. Too many of the staples overlap. UB Tezzeret and Miracles could be configured so only one has FoW and Jace and then both decks could co-exist.
For anyone getting into competitive legacy, I would recommend building just 1 deck right, instead of multiple budget decks.. After you have that deck you can make others far more easily if their staples overlap.

That's pretty much what I do. I have a 2,000 count box plus an ultra pro carrying case all filled with Legacy staples all black sleeved so I can just pull whatever cards I need to make whatever deck I want to play. Too many decks have overlaps to buy playsets for each one. I'd be broke in no time and have to own like 500 dual lands.

I'm sort of kicking myself in the ass, if I'd realized the 3rd edition dual lands would be so expensive I would had buy more playsets when they were worth 10 dollars each. I'd never thought 3rd edition would be so freaking expensive.... Actually, I would never thought any 3rd edition stuff would be that expensive.
I have one tournament playable deck (Burn)
I do have dredge, pox, stasis, elves, enchantress but I wouldnt play it in a tournament.
I could have U/R delver but I failed to get 3 u/r fetchlands (or I would make it a tournament playable deck too)
I have Dredge and Manaless Dredge as well as a sizable chunk of Death & Taxes just not enough to play it. I also have a decent amount of Painter which I think I'm going to build as my second primary Legacy deck.
I feel you have should at least 1 Legacy deck you know really well and 1 other deck that's fun and plays differently than your other deck, that way at your local store people don't know what you're playing game 1.

Well, when I went to this one card show on Route 46 in Parsippany, NJ (Hello fellow Jersyites) back in 94, there was this one table selling all the dual lands. I asked him how much. He said $12 each. I thought he was nuts. $12 for ONE Magic card. But for whatever reason (call it a sixth sense) I got a playset of every dual land. All 40 for $480.
I mean this deck just suits my play style perfectly, you put in some threats then protect then with counterspells, add some burn to finish off opponent, I was playing UWR Stoneblade but that deck is more controlish.

with a rough ordering of "aggro to less aggro." I don't think I can build any combo decks, but am probably arbitrarily close to Cheerios and similar budget combos.
Well for me this depends on what you mean "fully completed." Like others have said, I have all the cards to build several decks, but they are not actually put together. As far as decks that I could play right this moment, I have Elves and my own homebrew version of Tezzerator (in Esper). With a little bit of work, and possibly having to substitute just one or two important cards, I could build Jund, Junk/Maverick, any version of Delver (UR, RUG, BUG, or Grixis/4-color), Stoneblade, Cheeri0s, Lands, Miracles, Nic Fit, and Burn.
I'm working on Sneak & Show, just missing two Sneak Attack and one Emrakul. If I had Aether Vials I would be able to build Death & Taxes. If I had a set of LEDs, I could nearly build ANT and Dredge.
I don't own more than a playset of anything, though, so those decks will very often share cards and it's hard to build any more than two decks at a time.
Like a couple other people here, I use a staple box and don't have more than a playset of most cards. The only deck that's physically assembled right now is Spanish Inquisition. That said, I have lists for and can make Storm, Nic Fit (most variants), Maverick (most variants), and Enchantress. I think I could put together some kind of half decent Stoneblade or Delver list, but haven't wanted to. I'm also a handful of cards away from finishing Miracles, Dredge, and a few glass cannon combo decks, if I ever feel so inclined.

I started the same way; I built Esperblade first. Then I branched off from there. I can build:

Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
