Constructing a deck and need some counter picks to some decks. Just say what the general strategy would be and what you should include to combat these decks especially infect
MOST IMPORTANT: infect
A. Elves ramp
B. Goblins
C. White weenie
D. UR delver
E. Mono black devotion
F. GR tokens or GR monsters
You don't need to find all of them but any of these will be alot help!
Infect and Elves you cant afford to race either of them, but the matches feel pretty well in UR Delver's favor if you just target lots of burn at their creatures.
Goblins I havent played against in forever, but I think you just win there if you dont let them hit you with a Lackey? I think they'd struggle to keep up with UR Delver.
'white weenies' feels like a much harder matchup if they are prepared for you in their sideboard. Just try to kill their most annoying white hatebears while also pushing through enough damage to win. Not always as easy as it sounds.
Pyroblast and Hydroblast are both good cards for the UR mirror. Basically dont let your opponent resolve Treasure Cruise and resolve your own.
Just from my experience, nearly every match I lost in 19 rounds of playing UR Delver at the GP was to a deck that played white. Other matches felt reasonably within my control most of the time.
Infect tends to be creature light, so removal is good. Hand disruption is also helpful for preventing a "critical mass".
Elves. Engineered plague is good for holding them back. Same with spot temoval for key players.
Goblins hate enchantments. Moat or solitary confinement beat the deck on their own.
White weenie hates sulfer elemental. General cheap mass removal also tends to do enough.
Ur delver. In general this is burn, so a leyline of sanctity for example can take away a lot of their gas. In general though shutting off either the spell or creature half of the deck will buy enough time for any deck.
mono black devotion? Ha ha?
Tokens and monsters? Um modern?
Orim's chant is always good. I feel it is very much under played. It beats a lot of decks, but the timing is critical.
