Duelcaster is bad. It is like how fork use to work in the mid 90s. You Cast a spell, you try and duel caster it, with duelcaster on the stack they counter the first spell. And duelcaster has nothing to fork now. Other forks that don't have to wait for an etb trigger to pick a target are far better.
Umm yea I'll pay 3 mana for a 2/2 body and draw 3 cards......seems good. Legacy staple, mark my words.
not likely. Is Fork played? No. Does an extra 1 man for a 2/2 body make fork playable? Almost certainly not.
It might be, since it essentially has haste and a 2/2 is pretty much a must answer in burn. It also adds ability to getting either a double fireblast or getting one through counter magic. I'm not saying it's good at all, but it can see some play.
Containment Priest is hilarious. It's the best hate imaginable against a whole bunch of unfair decks, but the decks most likely to include it (d&t and maverick) will suffer from it themselves because of aether vial and GSZ. Nevertheless, the interaction with Flickerwisp is insane and it's ridiculously good against sneaky show or reanimator.
I think it'll still go in the sideboards of both decks. It's too good against all "unfair" creature strategies not to include. Totally demolishes Dredge. I predict this card will make a big impact on Legacy.

Let's see what Containment Priest hoses:
Sneak Show (hoses Show and Tell on creature mode and Sneak Attack, though I don't think it works if it's cheated in at the same time as Emrakul)
Dredge (they can't cheat in any creature cards, so they have to block with Putrid Imp to turn on Bridge from Below)
Oops All Spells (if you can last until Turn 2)
Reanimator (hosing their primary Plan B is a huge plus) Aether Vial Green Sun's Zenith Natural Order (time to Visionary + Symbiote your way into the 2-of Hoof) Goblin Lackey (but so does its 2/2 body--oh well, if they have only Lackey, you can swing with the Priest with no regrets) Kuldotha Forgemaster (better search for Staff of Nin or Spine of Ish Sah)
Depending on your meta, this might be better than Meddling Mage as a sideboard option!
Does Enchantress want the fancy new green O-Ring variant, Song of the Dryads?
It might--does it immediately hose Omniscience if they're both cheated in at the same time? (If so, dodging Trickbind is huge!) It's also better overall than Banishing Light at turning into a 3-mana cantrip when it's dead--it hoses nonbasics and colour-screws basics.
Neither Containment Priest or Song of the Dryads will do anything to a card that it comes in off show and tell with. Song can only hit cards that were already in play, not those coming in at the same time, and Containment Priest's replacement effect doesn't do anything until she's in play.

So she would have to be in play before SnT is cast? If so, I could flash it in, in response to SnT.

Not true.
Containment priest can be flashed in response to SnT.
Song of dryads, since its an aura, you have to attach it to a valid permanent when state-based actions are checked, which is after the spell is resolved and song of the dryads and the opponent's card are already in play. It works since the card is not cast, which requires a valid target to already be in play.

Take a mechanic from the pre-mirrodin era, and a mechanic after the mirrodin era, and create a card that flavorfully melds both mechanics.

Yeah, that would totally work. It'll be interesting to see if she's worth the tradeoff of less effective Aether Vials.
Containment Priest is the real deal. Its gonna hit legacy in a big way. At least a 4 of in Death and Taxes sideboard. And I could see some exchanging Vial for Priest. But the mere threat that your opp could have a Priest in hand is gonna slow down Reanimator and Show and Tell by a turn.

I agree that containment priest is good but its going to be good a little differently then you think.
Against Sneak-show it does stop Emrakul, but if they show a creature with an etb effect, or something like Griselbrand, they can stack the triggers so they can still get value, or respond with Gris, to fill their hand. Very relevant, but does not completely shut off the deck.
Reanimator: It actually shuts down the whole deck, because reanimating, or exhuming would not count as casting, so the priest would blank their whole reanimation tatic, as well as plan b, of show and tell. Ofcourse you still have to play around their counterspells.
I know my statement seems nit-picky but it does matter. Something to conisder though: how much is this card better then Grafdigger's cage? Is the 2/2 body, and reactive strategy, better then 1 less mana, proactive strategy? I bring up the mana question because the difference between 1, and 2 mana in legacy is huge, its the difference between turning daze one, or not. Interactions with vial matters alot too.
I believe that Dualcaster will not see legacy play out side of fringe R/U Delver decks, even then its really questionable, because he doesn't trigger Swiftspear, playing git-probe, retain priority, cast Dualcaster to fork git-probe seems good, but hardly worth it. Dualcaster to fork opponents Treasure cruise is the dream but if I were going to dream I'd rather dream Notion thief on their brainstorm. And for all those who think Dualcaster targeting opposing Force of Will is good, you're right it is, but its also extremely narrow, if you're gonna play cards for random narrow situations you might as well play anarchy maindeck, because it might hose DnT, and it might get rid of leyline of Sanctity.

Sleepy Saturday night post so I might be wrong, but doesn't Containment Priest's text constitute a replacement effect? If the Sneak & Show player casts a Show and Tell or activates Sneak Attack with Priest on the battlefield, or she's flash cast in response to it, wouldn't any creature put in with Sneak or Show never actually hit the battlefield to get ETB effects or activate abilities? I don't believe there are any triggers to stack or respond to. And I think even if Priest did have a triggered ability and it triggered at the same time as a creature's ETB ability, it would just go on the stack in active player, nonactive player order. Unless for some reason the controller of Priest was cheating in a creature for some reason, and controlled both triggers. But that's only a hypothetical point, assuming I'm reading the card correctly.

I understand, I get that way too, like just now, I'm pretty sure you're right, I was only looking at the 'IF' clause, and missed the instead portion, which would mean the creature doesn't enter play at all. My apologies!
Vial is no good vs fast combo. You should already be boarding it out.
Bringing in Priest and taking out vial would be a big shift for D+T, they have some pretty relevant interactions with vial, the last time I checked, and having to hardcast creatures, means they won't have lands open to activate port, and actually depend on their mana base. Do we have any D+T players that can comment on this?
I'm a D@T's player. And by the time your Vial hits 2 counters.. you either got stormed out or grislebrand has hit you and your opp has at least 20 life and a full hand of counters and is about to reanimate another beast. You need to answer combo in the first two turns. If you get past the first two turns without disruption, its not because you did anything, its that they kept a bad hand. So in D@T Thalia or Priest needs to hit turn 2 to have any effect. If you are waiting on vial you lose.
Priest is really just ancillary hate against Reanimator/S&S for Death and Taxes. Having 3 Karakas main decked and a strong mana denial plan makes those matchups even-to-favorable.
The real draw is helping with the abysmal Elves matchup. Grafdigger's Cage doesn't stop Glimpse, and SOTL/Ethersworn Canonist doesn't stop GSZ and Natural Order. Priest helps fill in the gaps while conveniently not being an artifact or enchantment, so Reclamation Sage isn't an issue.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.

That said I hope Titania, Protector of Argoth will make a splash in Lands decks. That way they won't beat their opponents by boring them to death.
