With the emergence of Monastery Swiftspear and the linear gameplay of Burn in Legacy, I am converting my Burn deck to a U/R Delver deck as it is more appealing to me. Although my Burn deck was pretty pimped out, I have 4 Promo Goblin Guides, worth $40 each. Got them when they were $20 each. In my opinion Swiftspear would be good in it's spot if I was to recreate the Burn it so that is fine. I am considering trading them away because I do not think I need them for a deck (can't even go in my Legacy Goblins list) and they will just take up space. On the other hand, it is my favourite goblin I've ever played with, I love it's art, and it's blue (blue mage at heart).
Basically, what would you do?

I do not feel Spear will replace Guide in burn. The main reason is that you do not have the same structure of free spells to support it. You do not have the reload options either. In Burn if you try and force support for Spear you will burn all out of cards with no real way to reload again. Also it would not be until turn 3 that (assuming you hit all your land drops) Spear would do more damage than Guide assuming you dropped them both turn one. To gain that advantage you need to cast 5 one mana spells, drop Spear and hit all your land drops. That is 9 cards by turn 3 leaving you with a very small hand if any hand at all. Here is what I mean:
Spear:
Turn 1: 1
Turn 2: Needs two one mana spells to hit for 3.
Turn 3: Need at lest 3 more one mana spells to gain an advantage if you hit for 3 turn 2, need two to break even if you hit for 3 turn 2.
Turn 4: Unlikely to hit hard due to either burnout of cards or the need to drop more expressive cards.
I feel Guide is fine where he is. I would keep him.
Even if you aren't using him now, save him for later. He seems to just be going up, so holding on to him would be useful for later. If there are other specific cards that you need, maybe, but I traded mine away, and now that I could use them I regret it.
I concur, Goblin Guide is something you'll probably want to hold on to for the time being.
There will come a day when he's reprinted, but until that day he will just keep going up. Unlike fetchlands, I don't think Wizards really cares enough about Goblin Guide being pricey that they're discussing his reprint schedule.
Every time Burn becomes a good deck, the price of Goblin Guide goes up. Every time there's an influx of players into Modern, the price of Goblin Guide goes up. It never really goes down much. It's a solid card to hold on to.
I wouldn't trade him! I have doubts that wizards will ever reprint Goblin Guide (for standard) or make a card as similar as Goblin Guide (2/2 with haste for 1cc).
Swiftspear is sweet looking but it not as good as Goblin Guide and players are also learning that Swiftspear doesnt work well with Eidolon of the Great Revel (Some Swiftspear players are thinking of playing Eidolon of the Great Revel as a sideboad card - but I believe Eidolon should be a main board option)
Other players that are playing swiftspear are considering Gitaxian Probe. Which is ok for a different burn deck. I'm testing Swiftspear with Mishra's Bauble/Urza's Bauble/Gitaxian Probe - which can make swiftspear explosive but not that reliable.
