I explicitly stated that the Return to Ravnica set had much for Legacy. Deathrite Shaman being a huge factor in that.
I'm not even asking for that level of power for Legacy from Khans of Tarkir, I would just like to see more than what we've been given in the last 5 major expansions.
I think more morph creatures in legacy will be great, morph is a gret mechanic and more of morph creatures will be good, but not the one we know now, the three color land will be good, sure they are slow but when they become untapped you got a lot of posebileties for mana, but now, the mechanics aren't good enogh to see legacy play, maybe in standard but that's it. So other then Zurgo Helmsmasher and the three mana tapped land I'm not blown away by the cards.

Eidolon of the Great Revel has made it so players no longer get surprised when a burn deck (or several burn decks) top 8 an event. I think that shows a pretty good power level for a legacy card.
They were saying the last five block sets. Return to Ravnica was good for Legacy. Gatecrash, Dragon's Maze, Theros, Born of the Gods, and Journey into Nyx were not as good.
Yeah they had a couple of cards but probably less between all five of the sets than RTR did.
Magic 2014 probably did as much for Legacy (in the form of Young Pyromancer) as the whole Theros block did.
I really, really, really want Spirit of the Labyrinth to work out in Legacy (it was the card that most excited me in the whole block), but noone seems to have made it work yet. Aether Vial-ling it in as a response to a Brainstorm is just brutal.
Might Sultai Charm, Necropolis Fiend, or Herald of Anafeza be playable? Sultai Charm looks sweet in Shardless BUG, as it hits nearly any permanent (but missing Jace TMS blows, and missing Deathrite isn't so hot, either) at instant speed and dig-cantrips in a pinch. Necropolis Fiend costs 1 more than Tombstalker and has 1 less power, but it can kill creatures. Herald of Anafeza is a 1-mana 1/2 that can make a 1/1 every turn...for 2Wt...at sorcery speed. Cheap token producers have potential, though, right?
Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker might be playable in Dragon Stompy--although getting hit by StP sucks compared to Stormbreath Dragon, at least he can kill stuff instead of attack! But he can't block...
The news of fetch lands reprint might implode the internets.
Truth. I snapped up wide-awake at 7am when I found news of this on Fb and MTGS.
As for the thread's discussion, idk...the bar is SO HIGH for "does [set] inpact legacy"
The reprints ALONE make KTR a "high impact for the format". From here it's all gravy. However, we're really looking for 1-2 cc "good stuff" at this point in Legacy or some stupid SnT/Reanimator-worthy bomb.

Hooray!!! We got the first five cards of the set that are playable in legacy!!!
And even if they're the only ones, I think it's safe to give zero poots about it.
ONS fetches are pretty much win/win for every active format... though, at the same time I fear that the usual Blue Fetch price hike phenomenon will kick in and lock me out of Polluted Deltas, which I've been eyeing for the longest time. At least I'm closer than I ever was before to getting some...
Tangentially this means I can start working out plans for Death's Shadow in Modern now that we've got the whole megacycle of fetches... of course, you guys will still have the better toys until some massive lapse of thinking occurs and we get Brainstorm...
New tombstalker is pretty bad actually. Like you need a ton of cards in the yard for it to be better than stalker. Not to mention you have to pay X mana in addition to exiling X cards. It's like a gigantic grim lavamancer as doing X=3 or higher is pretty difficult in decks where tombstalker is now. Although it does a great job of beating up on goyf repeatedly since you can remove cards over and over to shrink goyf and make your opponent do the work for goyf pumping.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
New Sarkhan is good, but not legacy playable =( Crackling Doom might see some super niche play (1-2 of in team italia?)
New cycle of charms means we might see some that are niche options for some tri-color decks. (Sultai Charm doesn't seem bad, there's better options though) Necropolis Fiend is a 1 mana more (almost) tombstalker with an awesome ability.
I've preordered some, mostly for new artwork, and for modern (the few times I play). Crackling Doom seems promising. The BUG charm, also seemed promising but - these also are speculative sideboard options at best and aren't really jumping out at me. The fiend is a cool card. I do have plenty of time to be [under]/[over] or just Whelming Waved.
So annoying how I can't play 3 color charms in legacy because of spell pierce, daze, etc. etc. and 3 mana is a big investment. I love sultai charm as a card though. Incredibly versatile. In legacy? Quite skeptical of it being any good here. Should be good in standard and probably modern though.

If you play Junk Fit Anafenza the Foremost represents Green Sun fetchable grave hate that won't wreck your own deck. It only hits creatures, but that hurts a lot of the grave decks you would be up against.

I'd still rather stick with Scavenging Ooze. Anafenza can't hose Past in Flames, Tiago, or Cabal Therapy, and she's likely too late to hit Reanimator. She does hose Dredge somewhat and she can't be Pithing Needled, but I'd rather have more reliable graveyard hate on a big enough beatstick.
Is there any way to break Empty the Pits in Legacy? I'll assume decks can reliably hit Threshold but no further; and I suspect Spanish Inquisition can't quite break it because Belcher's Empty the Warrens tends to produce at least 8 tokens (i.e. 4 Storm or 4 Delve), and even Goblin Charbelcher levels of mana just gets you one extra Zombie. It's great in SI grind plans, though!
I wouldn't include this 3-card combo in tron (U version). At least in that version we already run mindslaver (and the lock with academy ruins + 12 mana), which is useful on its own without the other parts of the 'combo'.
But this combo only requires 5-7 to go infinite depending on your sac outlet of choice. If you don't see that as a huge advantage over Mindslaver I don't know... also it is safer than Mindslaver lock. Mindslaver lock can still fail, this combo can't fail. Your opponent never gets another turn. It also does not need the graveyard. Using Phyrexia's Core it is safe from Abrupt Decay in modern and Wastelands do not exist.
It's a 3-piece combo, and in Modern, they can bounce the Portal with Cryptic Command and screw you out of anything more than an extra turn. Having played Melira Pod in Modern and having dabbled with Combo Elves in Legacy, I assure you that a 3-piece combo is a lot harder to assemble than a 2-piece one.
Hardened Scales seems like it has the potential to spawn an archetype. I don't know if it would work in legacy but it is very Johnny. Seems like a match with Modular and Undying. Could work with something like Heroic as well. Any creature that comes into play with counters or can add counters. Come to think of it there's a few auras that were borderline playable for hexproof, but might be ridiculously good when Hardened Scales is in play. Green and White are the obvious base colors for this. Forced adaptation for example would be pretty sick on a slippery bogle. you wouldn't even need to add any other auras. a hexproof creature that grows by +2/+2 every time you have an upkeep is self-sufficient enough on its own.
T1 hardened scales
T2 bogle and forced adaptation
T3 hyena umbra - and hold all of your other cards in hand, because that's already quite enough of a threat. 4/4 hexproof first strike that comes back to battlefield and grows by +2/+2 every turn. Sick. You can save your coronet and your ethereal armor for after the sweeper.
A wedge set with no hybrid mana has very little chance of having anything for Legacy unless they throw in a hatebear or artifact targeted at Legacy specifically.
In Legacy, any card that you have to tap more than three permanents to cast is unplayable. If you want to play 4 CC spells in Legacy, you need sol lands, if you want to play 5 CC spells, you need rituals. Neither of those cards can accelerate a three-color wedge card so the only ones that have any chance of seeing play are the three mana ones.
I like the idea of running ugin nexus in some grixis artifact legacy control deck with tezz agent of bolos, goblin welder and possibly dack fayden. Too bad you have to exile it but taking an extra turn in legacy is nothing to laugh at.
I also like clever impersonator as a card to copy jace tms or something else to get within parity of your opponent. I'd probably would run 1 or 2 at the most though if I was going to play him in a deck like esper deathblade. Also, copying a true-name nemesis also seems kinda tempting too. clever impersonator would probably not be ground breaking in legacy but he does have some useful merits that could be worth exploring.

It's pretty good with Bloodhall ooze; where if you curved out of:
T1: DRS
T2: Ooze, Scales, something
T3: Ooze is now a 5/5 (growing 4/4 per turn)
Even then, meh. It'll make some wicked Graft decks in casual if nothing else. It'd be hilarious to see graft in legacy.
