I'm not really sure where else to post this. I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed this interaction. If you mulligan using serum powder and misthollow griffin is in your hand, misthollow is exiled and you can cast it later. Maybe someone who's played food chain can weigh in; would this have a positive impact on the deck? This is legal in modern too, any chance that could happen?
Edit: I did the math, and it looks like you'll only get both cards in your opener about 15% of the time. I think that answers the question (don't try it), but I'll leave the post up since it's at least an interesting interaction.
Some facts of magic:
-Terror is an emotion which, when experienced, results in death.
-The pox was a disease notorious for having killed one-third, rounded up, of Europe’s population. Smallpox, on the other hand, killed only a single person.
-A person riding a horse cannot be stopped by foot soldiers, large animals, walls, archers, or even catapults.
It's really not worth it. It's got a very small chance to be beneficial, as not only do you need to get both cards in hand, you also need to have a bad enough hand as well, and if you don't want to mulligan, it's a completely dead card.
Throwing away 5 cards, in order to exile the griffin, before its having been exiled becomes relevant, at the cost of having 3 now-dead cards in your deck, isn't very good.
STATISTICS.
All of these "Let's eliminate bad cards" crusades are simply ignorant. And when they start to devolve into "WotC is conspiring to give us crappy cards," they just become embarrassing. MATH is conspiring to give you crappy cards.
Definitely a neat interaction. If serum powder costed 2 it would see much more play in legacy probably but at 3 it's just sort of awkward in a deck that doesn't have a 1 card combo a la bazaar of baghdad in vintage. It is quite the neat interaction though.

"Yawgmoth," Freyalise whispered as she set the bomb, "now you will pay for your treachery."
With Mox, Powder, Fate and Force, you have 15 cards that can profitably interact with Griffin. And none of them are necessarily "dead" on their own. Powder is the weakest on its own, but it helps this deck sculpt opening hands with Turn 1 Chalice of the Void @ 1, which is one of the reasons to even play this deck in the first place.
I can see that having it would not hurt. I would see it more of a why to keep your opponent on his toes. He watches you exile 7 cards then about four turns you are playing from that untouchable realm. I would like to see a deck where you a UW control deck uses Rest in Peace. That could allow you to play while your opponent struggles to play.

To make it a little easier.
