If you want something under the radar, like Blood Moon, and cheap. Try Red Death (It's dead, but hey revive it, I would like to take some staples in my binder and throw something together). It's a B/R Aggro/Control deck.
With Tombstalker, Young Pyromancer, Liliana, and Unmask, it can make a strong showing. Especially with so many decks liking to use 3 colors and load their decks with non-basics now.

I have a question as well. I want goblins in Legacy. There I said it. I'm a tribal man, and I have Elves and Slivers as EDH decks, but I do not think I want goblins for an EDH deck. I love my Legacy Combo Elves deck, and I do like the traditional Merfolk as well, although I do not know what would shell best suits Goblins. Is it the traditional Lackey shell with a black splash and Vials? Or is it the new Goblin Stompy? Or is there something I am missing? What is the best competitive shell for Goblins?

There isn't one. Goblins is dying deck as it has not changed with the times. If I was going to play Goblins today I would look at a modern update of Dirty Kitty.
Hey guys, I'm a Modern/Standard player, and I'm looking to pick up something to have for Legacy nights at my LGS when I move back home. I played Pod in Modern before the ban, and have moved to Affinity since. I considered Legacy Affinity for a bit, but it seems really poorly positioned, and I'd like something different from my Modern deck. I'd like something in the vein of Reanimator, since that was the most fun I had when I played Proxy-Legacy a few years back.
Staple-wise, I have 4 of: the Khans Fetches, Aether Vial, Thoughtseize, Thalia, Abrupt Decay, Snapcaster and that's about it. I have Modern Merfolk together, but I'd prefer a deck that didn't require Force of Will or too many Duals, simply because I'm not going to get to play Legacy very often, and I'd rather not invest tons of money into something I'll only get to play a few times a year if I'm lucky.
The only thing close to Reanimator, is Reanimator. The only thing even close to it would probably be the Worldgorger Combo that's around in developing, and I think there's a Goblin Welder/Worldgorger Dragon variation.
Just play Dredge. Although that hasn't been topping much as of late, but just wait a few months, and it comes roaring back. Dredge always comes back.

You can build Merfolk without Force of Wills. Listen. Force of Will is called a staple because it stops turn 1 and 2 combo's or broken things when you have no mana up. Although, most people who play Force of Will will tell you, it is the worst counterspell in the game. Reason why is because it sacrifices your card advantage, so the opponent is 2 for 1'ing you. Try Merfolk without Forces, I did for ages until I got my set and was fine.
Hey guys,
There's a legacy GP in my area rather soon. I'm thinking of throwing something together to partake in that and also maybe get into a new format. However the deck needs to be cheap. Currently it looks like Burn and Manaless Dredge are the only decks within my price range, but in case I'm missing something, could someone list all the...say sub-$500 legacy decks, how much they are, and where they are in the current meta? Thanks.

Burn, Mefolk, Elves without cradles or duals, goblins and goblin stompy, most stompy decks actually, Affinity. Most I can think of ATM #phoneATM so can't check prices reliably.

Dragon/Angel/Soldier/Beast stompy are probably all within that price range. Also perhaps mono black reanimator, Merfolk without FoW, there was a black devotion deck that did reasonably well awhile back as well.

Cool thanks guys. What about LEDless Belcher? A friend brought that up and it seems like it would be a good option if I could somehow not include the LEDs.
And could I get pointed to a competitive stompy list? Thanks.

Burn is definitely viable in legacy, and among the most affordable established decks. Especially if it's a strategy you know you enjoy, I'd encourage you to give it a try as a way to explore the format.
Miracles is certainly viable with a very high basic count, and can run either Back to Basics or Blood Moon depending on the build as a punishment to other decks. Shardless BUG not so much. It's a great deck, but needs it's many expensive blue dual lands. I'd say Miracles can easily run a few shocks (maybe 2 Hallowed Fountain, 1 Steam Vents) as you work towards duals. BUG will likely hurt a lot more but I don't play that deck.

I need help deciding between which of my decks I should keep assembled for playing a blue deck. I am trying to keep as many Legacy decks together as I can so I can switch and let my mates borrow them. Now I have all the cards for both OmniTell and Merfolk, so this isn't a "what should I build on a specific budget?". This is a question on what would suit me more and what is more relevant in the Legacy meta. Now there are 2 things that I love in Legacy, TRIBAL and POWER. I have Elves and been enjoying it so much. Although I do want to play the occasional counterspell every so often and I have got to use my Force of Wills for something otherwise they will just either sit in my folder for months-years or being traded away.
I like Merfolk for the art, tribal synergy, how they slip past your opponent, how most of the deck slides into Modern (incase there is an event), True-Name Nemesis, and how they get to use Force of Will. The downside I find is you can't really tutor up anything you require and I am still stuck on how much removal to run.
I like OmniTell because I have a tutor (Personal Tutor) and can drop an Omniscience, playing either Emrakul or covering my opponents with ants. It's so much power in one deck that I completed it because it was cheaper than the duals for Reanimator. Downside is it is a combo deck at heart and can be disrupted through discard and chalice, and some times you have to play a long game, which goes greatly out of your favour. It also does not have a proactive strategy, usually waiting for the opponent until it goes off.
Edit: P.S. Forgot about UR Delver. Better throw that into the mix.
My friend wants advice as to what to play for legacy. He wants a low budget deck, preferably a mill-control sort of deck. He isn't too picky about the particulars, but he doesn't have a lot of money to spend, so keep that in mind.

Only real option is Painters/Grindstone.
And if he ever gets money, he can get some Imperial Recruiters. But the core is only like 80 bucks. Then everything else are just bolts, elemental blasts, etc. Then there's crazy stuff you can change about. I've seen some Thopter/Counter Balance mixed with Painters before.
Hey guys! I'm a Modern Twin player who's getting bored of the same old meta and I'm thinking about getting into legacy. I'm looking for a deck that plays a brutally fair game but does unfair things to eventually pull ahead and win preferably without a combo that isn't delver or another tempo strategy. Price is not going to be an issue. Thanks in advance!

With the banning of twin comes the end of an era...
Esper Thopter Foundry is also an option. It's a control deck that tries to 1-for-1 and hold the fort, until it assembles Thopter Foundry + Sword of the Meek combo. It's not a combo that's auto-wins, but it's a strong interaction.
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
Hey all, I'm completely new to legacy but after winning a modern SCG IQ, I'm in need of a legacy deck by august. I'm thinking of either some stoneblade variant, tempo thresh, or infect. I have no idea what the metagame is like or what it will look like come august. I would like to play a deck that requires little to know knowledge of the meta but can still win an invitational. Thanks.
1) What kind of deck do you feel most comfortable with?
2) Are you borrowing cards or buying them? If buying what's your price ceiling?
3) Do you have a weekly Legacy event you can go to and get some reps in?
4) Are you willing to learn the format? Playing a deck that requires little to no knowledge of the format is fine, but if you wish to place at a large scale event it's best you know the basics anyway.
5) Are you trying to win at this event or just enjoy yourself and play?
I'm comfortable with mostly any deck type but in modern I'm currently on burn. I am looking to borrow most cards but am willing to buy into the mana base (RIP wallet) or other necessary cards I can't find. I do want to learn the format since I wanted to get into legacy for a little bit now. I'm looking to perform as well as possible.
Ok, then my honest suggestion is to get a friend who plays Legacy, proxy up everything your interested in and test it. Because normally when someone asks there is no real money on the line, for you this is not the case. Also while doing this you will learn the format and that will help you as well.
If it comes down to what you can borrow too, that has to be taken into account. Start planing now. Personally, if I was to play in an SGC event I would be happy to take Patriot, Infect or Blade control going from your list. But if I was to grab what I am best with I would still be taking Elves.
Lands is another option, Tabernacle costs a liver and a rent cheque, but if you can pull it together it's very good against the fair meta's I would expect to find at these events.
If not that, test Patriot, Esper and maybe Team America. Those will at the very lest be decks you will face and they are all strong options to play.
Hello everyone! I feel like I'm missing out on all the fun that is legacy, therefore I'd love to buy a deck. Problem is, I can't afford to spend a lot per year.
Budget: 500/year (Would like to begin playing the deck a year in. Asume I have shocks.)
Favrorite cards: brainstorm
Favorite archetypes: Most decks that include brainstorm and have multiple paths to winning. Is there a good aggro combo/aggro hybrid?
Other: Would love if the deck included some stples that can be used in other decks. My local meta is about 85-90 percent combo, so good combo matchups is vital.
Have you considered Solidarity? It sets you up with Snapcasters, Force of Will, Flusterstorm, and blue fetches, and the rest is fairly cheap. It's pure combo, but it's not as easy to back into a corner as other combo decks.
Just got to say, you've definitely earned distinction as an MTGS hero
