You're spot on. I don't own any legacy staples unfortunately. I do play Modern but that doesn't help much. Thanks a lot for the insight. Seeing what decks I might be able to build in the future with what I would have from either deck is something I didn't consider. Thanks again!
Thanks! I say down and took price completely out of the equation and decided Deathblade would be the most fun for me. I'm just going to have to take my time building it
Does legacy have a non-blue grindy midrange deck? I play Junk in Standard and Modern and both of those are decks that can go very late game and interact with the opponent very often, while not being a true control deck. Legacy allows for lots of interesting cards (Stoneforge, StP, Vindicate) and I'd like to play it, but midrange is really the only type of deck I love. As I said, I'd really prefer it not to be blue for personal reasons.
I don't need to win major tournaments, I just want something half-way competitive to play with my friends.
Thanks in advance.
There's also Jund, Maverick, Nic Fit, Deadguy, Junk, Aggro Loam, The Gate, and Team Italia.
That actually looks exactly like the kind of deck I was looking for. Is it an okay deck, though? Not necessarily in terms of having put up any tourney results, but doesn't it suffer from the same problem as Moat Stax where it's too slow to lock out and the opponent has too much time to break out before it kills him? Or is Hellkite and such generally enough to keep him from regaining his footing?
I think that MUD is stronger than White Stax, both in overall quality and ability to win even if the deck doesn't get a total lock.
I am thinking of steering away from my U/B Reanimator deck. I want a deck that cheats out huge creatures, and cheating out Emrakyl would be a huge plus. So what is the best Emrakyl deck in Legacy? Been looking at Sneak & Show, and Omni-show because I do not know any others. Although I am thinking if I go to an Emrakyl deck and dismiss Reanimator, I loss the "toolbox" ability I love so much in Reanimator, or can an Emrakyl deck be a toolbox deck too?

So I have my U/R Delver built after TC becomes huge, I won some tourney with that deck and it was good experience.
But now TC got banned, U/R delver is not tier 1 anymore, so I am looking to convert into a 3 color deck.
The closet deck I can complete is Jeskai Stoneblade, I just need tundra and stoneforges, which is not a big problem.
Should I go Jeskai Delver, or Young Stoneblade (without the wastes)?.
I hate to say it, but Wasteland is a big deal now that TC is banned. People could just recover from a Wasteland with TC. Now decks will be struggling with mana, and Wasteland will just give you free wins.

I think Miracles is the stronger deck, but the better answer is that you should choose according to whether you like midrange or control better. You'll be able to have strong results by mastering either, but you'll be more likely to hone your expertise if you enjoy the gameplay. If you like midrange, take Stoneblade; if you like control, take miracles.
Just got to say, you've definitely earned distinction as an MTGS hero

What are the best / most competitive decks in a meta circling around Miracles / ANT-TES / Delver variants , that does not require the big staples (ie, Lilianas, Tarmogoyfs, Wasteland-Ports, Force of Will) ?
Thanks. (I was kind of stuck beyond Elves / Burn...)
Elves requires gaea's cradle which is a $160 card, fetches, and natural orders. All in all it's cheaper, but not a whole lot less than other decks. Dredge is super cheap in comparison, and pretty good, not top tier, but it's a third the price of most other decks.

Burn, Dredge, MUD, and even sneak and show / show and tell / omni tell decks are cheap and really powerful.
Yeah, I was looking at the online prices, hence the Elves mention. Completely forgot Dredge.
There's some interesting ones further down that list like Mono-B reanimator,Goblin Stompy, but I find it hard to recommend these to someone given how little play they see (even though personally I would like them ).

Well Elves and Burn are top Tier decks. I know I have to play carefully around burn in each matchup because it can steal wins from you quite quickly.

Dredge is interesting, not a bad deck, but few of the parts are reusable, so it's kind of a weird investment to make. Goblin stompy is fun, you get to play with some neat cards and do some funky stuff, but not super strong, but a fun deck to play especially if you like creatures, much like elves, just not as grossly over powered. Mono-B reanimator would probably be my choice of the 'budget' decks. It's a little rough with no countermagic, and spells that clearly shout 'COUNTER ME OR YOU DIE', but reanimating big fatties is always fun.
Now I don't plan on getting into Legacy immediately but it does have peaked my interest a bit.
Im a midrange/control player so I prefer slower decks with much interaction and disruption.
In particular Miracles and Shardless BUG have caught my eye as the decks that I would enjoy the most playing.
Could somebody list the pros and cons of each deck?
Since I also play BG/x Midrange in Modern I also own many BG staples already but I have no problem acquiring either deck so treat the budget as unlimited and ignore it.
I played at a small local tournament last month. I played Sneak&Show.
Now i wanna play a more "fair" deck. Hope you can give me some advices.
My meta is the following:
Merfolk, MUD, Elves, Death&Taxes, Stiflenought, Reanimator, Burn, Miracles, RUB Aggro with YP and Swiftspear (Like RUG just instead ofGreen he uses black for discard and Tasigur), BUG Delver
Hope you can help me to find the right choice
well you've listed off about every good fair legacy deck, with the exception of maverick. Maverick is pretty cool, and if you get the itch to run combo's knight of the reliquary can get out thespian's stage and dark depths which is pretty gross.

Miracles is much slower than shardless bug, miracles is the ultimate end game control deck. Pro's for miracles are once you have counterbalance + divining top, you basically have the game. Shardless bug plays like your BG/x midrange modern deck, where you're trying to get as much value as possible and deal with threats as they come on board. Miracles is basically a counterspell fest, where shardless bug is more reactive removal. So if you like how your BG/x deck plays in modern then shardless bug might be where you wanna be. Or legacy jund, always an option.
Perhaps I'll be able to add to the pros and cons of Miracles. There are more pros than cons, and in my opinion Miracles is the best deck in the format. It's the deck I play myself.
Cons:
* If you run into a deck that you weren't expecting and fail to arrive at a coherent sideboard plan on the fly, there is a good possibility of a loss.
* Going to time and getting draws is a problem, even if you play quickly the opponent sometimes will not. Under DCI rules, a draw is almost as bad as a loss. It's not like chess.
* Everyone knows and is prepared for your deck.
* ShardlessBUG is a fairly common deck, and not a good matchup.
Pros:
* You get to win a lot.
* With 4 Brainstorm 4 Ponder 4 SDT, the cantrip power of this deck outstrips anything outside of Omnitell and ANT, making it the most consistent deck in Legacy (IMHO). You WILL get to execute your game plan, and when you selected the right one the chances of victory are good.
* More thorough and detailed literature exists for this deck than any other, thanks largely to Philipp Schonegger's articles. He appears on this site now and then, too.
* Manabase is bulletproof.
* Non-positive matchups include: ShardlessBUG, DnT, 12Post, MUD, Goblins. These range from somewhat challenging (Shardless + DnT) to downright impossible (Post), but the list is short.
Hi, I am new to legacy, I am thinking of getting into one without having to rob a bank(just kidding). Currently I am playing modern. deck I own is affinity and burn. I used to play goblin during onslaught. I just wonder which one can I build without breaking bank.

Well burn is pretty competitive in Legacy. You only need to fork out about $100 more dollars for the Legacy version to build upon the modern version.

You mean Maverick would be a good option? With TS and DD combo?
Yeah, Maverick plays abzan colors, and knight allows you to sift through your lands, doing some fairly gross things like TS and DD. Also Titania, Protector of Argoth is seeing some play as a 1 of for the same reason, play a fetch, crack it, get a 5/3, get a land, end of opponents turn, sac a land to knight, get a 5/3, get a fetch land, crack fetch land, get another 5/3, and have untapped land. Pretty neat little interactions.

shifting either of your decks to the legacy versions are solid ideas. Legacy affinity gives you access to the artifact lands and a couple other things for it. It's not as competitive as legacy burn, but if you like the modern version, the legacy version plays the same.
Sorry, i am not particular familar with legacy metagame. when you said affinity is not as competitive than burn, you mean it is slower compared to burn? what is the main reason for that statement? in modern affinity tends to have an edge over burn though. is there any particular deck or sideboard cards that kill affinity outright? i understand pernicious deed is vicious, what else is a real threat? as for burn, what are the cards that i need to acquire outside of modern cards?
