I'm currently trying to transition from Modern into Legacy, and I'm looking for a deck to test the waters, so to speak.
I've got modern affinity, U/G infect, and G/R tron decks, so naturally throwing in some artifact lands and tezz transforms the first into legacy-playable. However, I'm also torn between dredge(probably LEDless to start), burn, and omni-tell. In an average meta which of those four decks has the best combination of cost, introductive-ness to legacy, competitiveness, and most importantly fun?
The best thing to do, most likely, would be to play Affinity until the answer to that question becomes clear without the advice of others. Much of it is subjective anyway.
Move into bug then. Thoughtseize, dark confidant, hymn, etc. There a few different builds of BUG however so you should decide on build before acquiring cards, but they are all essentially good stuff decks.

Nic Fit might be a good idea. It's cheaper than your average legacy deck. It can be just GB colors, although often 3 colors is better (although usually only needs a few duals). It's more of a control deck than anything, although it usually wins with creatures eventually. It is very much a synergistic deck and not just goodstuff and does great against midrange decks, at the expense of a poor combo matchup.
I get to push parfait again! Mono coloured, plays a prison game, uses combo to win but can adapt to other win conditions, and has game against all decks. Con being it is big on decisions.

I was kind of in the same place when I discovered Death and Taxes. Had Dark Maverick, Deadguy Ale, and Junkblade built.
All that stuff is in the trade binder now, down to the duals and fetches. Every time I sleeve them up to play, I end up pining for my DnT list.
So I've been playing Legacy for a few years now, and I'm looking for a new deck to build. I currently have ANT fully built, which means I also can basically build TES, Belcher and Dredge for cheap. So I'm looking for a new deck archetype to start getting invested into. In terms of deck style, I enjoy all 3 major archetypes. I'd prefer something that isn't a 4 color mess since Wastelands are extremely prevelant in my meta. I'd also like a deck that isn't linchpinned to one card to win (too many months of playing combo against a Flusterstorm and FoW filled meta). In terms of staples I have to maybe spark some ideas, here's my main list:

1x Badland
1x Bayou
1x Karakas
4x Lion's Eye Diamond
4x Mox Opal
3x Chrome Mox
2x Ancient Tomb

1x Thoughtseize (with hopefully more in my Theros boxes)
I am currently a RUG delver player and I would like to get a second deck. I would like get a combo deck as that style if game seems like fun. Storm is out for me as I am not a great player and tend to make play mistakes. Storm seems a little complex for me with mama tracking and storm counts.
I am leaning towards omnishow or reanimator. I like omnishow over Sneak and show because it is mono blue and land base is cheaper. I also like the win con of release the
Ants.
As for reanimator playing with the graveyard has some appeal. Is the black/blue build fairly standard. I have all of the zendikar fetches
So while not optimal I think I Can make due
I would also run watery grave over underground sea for budget reasons.
Dredge is something else that I have considered but would rather play on of the above.
Are there any other combo decks out there that
I should consider? I would like to stay away from the glass cannon combos.
I have FOW, Wastes and Duals, I have 0 ONS and ZEN fetches. 0. I don't have the money for them really at all, and I wouldn't feel safe/good about spending money on 100-50 dollar lands that are likely going to be put back into standard in the near (relatively near by legacy standards) future.
What can I do to avoid this problem? Is there anyone who can convince me that these lands are a solid investment, or someone who can suggest a deck that can avoid the problem?
I have been playing Fish for a while now and it's nice, my meta has a very good amount of combo, but I never get to feel the real power of Legacy, or even cast a brainstorm, a card I find very fun.
I envy RUG and UWR delver lists, that is my kind of thing.
Past those two decks, if I had infinite cards, I would play Omnishow, then ANT.

I'll take a crack at the lands, though I am personally shying away from multicolored decks. It's an odd tendency, I know.
Fetchlands are a reasonable buy for several reasons.
It's not at all a given that they'll be reprinted anytime soon.
If they are reprinted, their value will drop, but only temporarily.
If they are reprinted, their long-term viability as an investment increases.
It's similar to the Thoughtseize or the shockland effect. Yes, these cards have become much cheaper at the moment than they were recently, but what do we know about these cards? Well, we know that with attendance levels (which measure demand) at what they were when these cards were available at their elevated prices, and the supply of cards limited to those levels, they went for a good deal of money. All that's required for the cards to assume their previous price points is for supply/demand to resume a similar ratio. It's only a question of when, not if, this will happen. Attendance has been rising steadily.
The splash effect of a reprint must also be considered. Reprinting staple A causes staple B (from the same deck or color) to rise in value. When Dark Confidant was reprinted, Thoughtseize and Liliana of the Veil went up. Should the ONS fetches be reprinted, all of the duals will increase in price as players acquire the fetches and decide to pick up the rest of the deck.
I already own a play set of Dark Confidant and recently traded into a play set of Thoughtseize and now I'm trying to think of competitive decks I could build using them.
What's good in general right now? I have most other Legacy staples as well.

Alright guys, I am looking to put together my third legacy deck and again I have come to you for help. I currently have built Junk Blade, MUD Staxx, and am now looking to put together something that uses the Thopter Foundry + Sword of the Meek combo - I was fooling around with it and think it is both well positioned and fun in a grindy "screw you" kind of way, and I really want to be able to play blue in legacy.
Does anyone have any thoughts on one of the more fun / interactive thopter sword decks? I would like to keep it 2 colors (although not opposed to 3 colors), and would love to have it be competitive as possible... I know Tezz and UW thopter counter top are things, as are shardless thopter balance, and a few others that I have seen both here and on The Source - has anyone played any of the versions and have opinions they would like to share. Note that money is not an object - competitive > cost to me.

Looking at your sig, you've got aggro with Merfolk, tempo with UR Delver, control with Stoneblade, and combo with Dredge. That's just how I think of them; maybe I've miscategorized something depending on your deck lists. You wanting to play your Dark Confidants and Thoughtseizes gives you an opportunity to try midrange and Jund. Oh, and I guess Deathblade needs to be mentioned too.

When I first started playing Magic, I played Shards. I absolutely loved cascade (say whatever you will). I got back into the game recently and have not been enjoying standard.
Now, I'm turning to legacy.
So far I've liked Shardless Bug and Jund. However, I also despise mirrors. As of now, what are the odds of finding mirrors in an average 9 round SCG event?
And is 4 color cascade a thing? Combining Jund and Shardless bug? I think I would like that. 7-8 cascade cards sounds enjoyable to me.

Cockatrice or paper proxy UWR and anything else that catches your eye, goldfish it, and playtest it against other decks. Sometimes you find that a deck you think you'll love doesn't fit your style, and sometimes the reverse.
