So Earlier today I had my first legacy tournament ever and omg it felt so great. I brought a pox list to it and there were three rounds I went 1:2. It just so good playing my legacy against other legacy decks, and I must say this is now my new favorite format. Like every play I made was so important and one mistake could cost me the game. So yeah just thought I'd like to share my happiness with everyone.
Welcome to the community. I had similar feelings playing in my first legacy tourney about month ago now. I still remember one game against a BUG Stiflenought deck. We were both down to only a few cards. I had no choice but to play my Bob even while being at only 3 or 4 life. I got crazy luck with my Bob flips since most of them were lands. I eventually drew a Jitte to gain life back and get back into the game. Eventually he just gave up because I was going to grind him out anyways. It was a good night.
Even though you went 1-2, I will say: Legacy is so fun I'm okay with my losses. Last Legacy tournament I went to I went 2-2. Not spectacular but I was having so much fun it didn't matter.
Welcome to Legacy. Pox is quite the deck to master; it can bring up a lot of interesting board states. It's my preferred control-deck of choice. Good luck!
I think you played against my friend, where was the event?

Congrats on having what sounds like an awesome day. I get to play legacy every Saturday afternoon now and I really look forward to it myself. Even when I go 0-3, I still have a great time.

The event was at a place called The End Game Center
And yeah even though I lost it was still so nice playing against decks that each felt so well made, and so good. Each one was a challenge to play but that's what makes it fun.

I order cards form their online store pretty regularly. Seems like a nice shop from the people I talked to by phone.

You know, a lot of players might have read your post and said "Man, I wish I still felt that way every time I play" because after a while the novelty does wear off a little.
But I've been playing this game for 19 years and I still feel that way every chance I get to play Legacy. It is absolutely the most fun I've ever had playing this game. I play at the same LGS as WorstBandNameEver and one week we played a High Tide mirror match. If you've never played one, you have no idea what an amazing experience it is. You cannot duplicate it with any other mirror match in Magic, IMO. It is totally interactive on both ends no matter whose turn it is.
I have over 20 Legacy decks put together and I can't wait to play every single one of them.
After all this time, it never gets old for me.
I hope you will feel the same way after your first 19 years.

I must say to this that I was also completely OK with loses, but then WotC created miracle...
