So, i was lucky enough to fall into a large sum of cash due to unfortunate circumstances, long story short, im jumping from Goblins (made a couple of top 20 at a couple of GP's) to Jund
(*reasoning: Jund, in my opinion, is more aggressive and has more answers than my goblins*)
now after pricing from other areas, starcity has less of this in stock at the moment but other sites run (no beta lands....im not that boss LOL) but runs at the most 2414.00
now a couple of questions before i dive into this (before you ask, i've tested the deck out in proxy's during casual legacy games and MWS, fits my play style, i was never a counter guy otherwise i'd rock U/W Miracles or sneak and show)
1: how do you think the Jund deck would run against counter decks? (example: show and tell, etc etc)
and
2: With the popularity of Jund, do you think any of the cards on this list are in the cross-hairs of magic's ban list for legacy
reason for the questions
1: Just curious on the match-up
and
2: because i don't wanna dump the money for say, tarmogoyf and magic be like, Oh, we've got a stick up our ass, we're gonna ban it.
As a Lion's Eye Diamond Player, please play Jund. But for real. Jund is a very solid deck. Nothing will get banned any time soon. Liliana of the Veil for President.
I think Jund is the best deck in the format (punishing-fire less or w/ punishing fire is down to preference). So, not a bad investment at all!

Im not going to comment on how good I think Jund is... I dont like playing a deck that just auto loses to some decks. But I will say that I think Jund is about as good as a non blue deck can be in a format where T1 kills are achievable.
It would be very sad to see PFire banned. It isnt a warping card at all. It is sad to hear things like that, because we arent modern. We dont ban cards in legacy just because a few people cant beat a recurrable shock. Plus PFire vs storm? Awful.
JUnd is nice also as it is portable into modern as well if you have those events in your area. Legacy is more fun, to me, but a nice bonus if you have access to the other events.
also, you can cut costs by not getting Chains of Meph. I would definitely look into the card more before getting it.

IMO i think the card that may see a possible ban is punishing fire almost every deck now runs it, jund, junk, lands, RUG, etc...
I've never played jund before; BUT as a belcher-combo player you may want some mindbreak trap or you match-up against combo will be like 30-70.
Also you will find youself very offten in a 4-card mulligan for a t1 duress.
Toughtseize and IoK CAN give them a decent matchup against t1 combo if they get the proper draw. It's a solid deck through and through so if you enjoy that playstyle I would go for it.
I personally think that PFire is worth the include since it is useful against quite a few decks out there. It's worth the slight power loss against combo decks in order to have it I think, especially against something like countertop.

1. Counter spells in general are not good enough to shut you down completely since there are too many good targets for them. It only hurts when they're about to combo off on you or if they have Counter-Top online. I know most people not playing combo side out their Force of Wills since Jund has the ability to play the long game and they don't want to get too behind on cards.
2. The popularity of Jund is not a big enough issue to warrant any bannings from what I gather. Jund has been putting up good results in recent months, but that usually happens when the meta becomes filled with fair decks that have better game against combo (ex. Esper Stoneblade, RUG Delver, etc.). Then when decks like Jund are on top, combo makes a come back.

I don't think Jund straight up auto-loses to any deck.
There are unfavorable matchups such as Storm combo, but Storm has its own unfavorable matchups as well.
I bet if I played 10 matches of Jund versus a Storm player of comparable skill, then I switched to something like U/B Stiflenought or Team America for 10 more matches, I'd have a better than 50% match win rate.

Due to real-life obligations, I am taking a long break from Magic which may include missing the local Legacy GP. Apologies for not being able to keep my threads updated.
Jund has enough hand disruption to tackle the blue based combo decks. Thoughtseize and hymn back to back are devastating. Its a clearly awesome deck all round, and I disagree with ever auto losing against anything. Build the deck off eBay, its hella cheaper.

Jund has a favourable match up against most fair decks and good match ups against control decks.
I recommend taking further Jund Specific questions to the Jund thread in the aggro established area.

Except of course versus combo decks such as Show and Tell and Storm. Then it loses quite easily because turn 1 Thoughtseize is often not enough.
Its just a metagame call really. If you are comfortable with bringing Goblins into a tournament I don't see why Jund isn't good.
