I have a playset of Dark Confidant just sitting in my binder, unused, and I'd love to build a deck to use them. I don't see Bob much these days which is odd, considering how amazing the card is. In your opinion, which is the best Dark Confidant deck in Legacy?

If the store owner says that I can't trade in the premises, I'll just go outside. If he says that I can't trade within 10m of his premises, I'll go to 11 meters. If he says that he doesn't want to see me trading, I will put a basket over his head and continue trading.
Yes, he's a local legend. He's only known to take his clothes off before he goes into the Ladies' Lockerroom. Nobody knows what he does in there because he's invisible, but it's almost certainly tons of masturbating.
It really depends on whatcha mean by that. But I would say that he gets a lot of use in 43 lands because you take like no damage from them. But he's just good in everything that doesn't use overcosted cards.
BW StoneBlade with Lingering Souls. You can check out my primer in Established, non-stickied, it's probably the forth best performing deck right now after UW StoneBlade and Maverick (#1 is easily RUG Delver). Most major tournaments have one or more in the top 8, Joe Bernal has put up several consecutive nice results with it. Key cards are Bob, SFM, Liliana, Bitterblossom, and Lingering Souls. The deck is good enough that many pros are running Sulfur Elemental in the sb specifically to compete with it. The deck is really strong vs RUG Delver and UW StoneBlade, slightly favorable vs Maverick, but has bellow average matchups vs the second tier decks, especially Burn, UR Delver, and Affinity.
I believe people actually run Sulfur Elemental because of a critical mass of white X/1's in the current meta (Maverick, Lingering Souls, etc.). I don't think SE is run specifically to combat Souls--it killing Thalia through a Mom is arguably just as essential, as Tempo Thresh does start to run into problems when its Bolts and Spell Snares cost 2 mana.
Mhjames: mtgsalvation: I DON'T SEE HOW THIS CARD IS GOOD. I KNOW PATRICK CHAPIN USED IT AND WENT 8-0, BUT THAT WAS A SMALL TOURNAMENT. THE CARD IS TOO SLOW. YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE THE OPPONENT HAS A SPELL IN THE GRAVEYARD

I guess it's ok bs Maverick too, but isn't green hate far better? No one played Sulfur until DKA, which is a big tipoff IMO. It's also used vs
D&T, but I'd still mantain it's primarily for BW
The problem is, the big tip-off can only be narrowed down to 2 (awesome) DKA cards--Lingering Souls and Thalia. It was probably both combined (and the rise of Maverick) that led to Sulfur Elemental and Dread of Night being everywhere.
Deadguy ale / B/W stoneblade is a fun deck I've seen Dark Confidant in
there's also Junk, which I feel is an appropriate name for the deck, "I'll just run all this junk, aka, the junk in legacy that's awesome and expensive!" lol
For more friendly versions that are less expensive, there is The Gate, which is things like hymn to tourach, dark confidant (which can be a 2 for 1, then 3 for 1, then 4 for 1, etc...) Gatekeeper of malikar, Bitter blossom, Umezawa's jitte, abyssal persecutor, duress, cabal therapy, innocent blood
I believe there was even a version of Esperblade that ran Dark Confidants, but in that deck, Dark Confidant is not one of the most expensive cards, its the mana base lol

The deck has game against everything, and board can really shore up matches very well. Lots of strong hate in BWG.

We're just catching the splash damage. It's like playing Reanimator right after Dredge wins an event.
