Nice to get a forum. Thanks MTGSalvation staff, especially Airithne!
I like the setup for the format right now, we have at least three fairly viable combo decks (copycat, aetherworks, and jeskai ascendancy), at least two viable aggro archetypes (Collected Company bant/abzan and Atarka Red), a ton of midrange decks, and Jeskai/UW Control with torrential gearhulk returning treasure cruise. I'm hoping nothing grabs more then 10% of the meta right away, I think without the combo decks midrange has a good chance of choking aggro out.

No bans are needed for this format yet. Wait until multiple large events are held before even considering such a thing.
Of course, it is still relatively new, however we wanted to provide a place of discussion for the overall health of the format, despite the absence of a banlist while still providing structure in the OP of this thread to expand and add one should this format have a banlist later on.
Exactly why I feel this is kind of premature. Until Wizards supports the format and makes a call on if Khan's is in or out, its not really a thing for a lot of people. I've tried but it isnt being picked up locally.
I'm with Billiondegree here. Nothing has proven to be broken yet in Frontier. I hate the idea of fetchland ban; I'd be in favor of more nonbasic land hate (see: Thalia) to disincentivize greedy mana bases. TC/DTT meanwhile are perfectly fine without efficient cantrips.
As more cards enter the format, something will likely become too good. I just don't think we're at that point right now.
Hello fellow frontiersmen. Let's hope this forum leads to great productivity.
I do think the format would be better without fetchlands, but I'm not sure if that's a popular opinion... might be a good idea to set up a poll somewhere.
Does anybody's LGS frequently host Frontier events?

RIP Magic Duels. Wizards will regret what they did to you.
My local shop does, for now. It's hitting 10-12 players a week. If it gets to 16-25 by the end of the month the store will run a win a box. If it doesn't it may be knocked back to a couple events a month.
Frontier holds the same market share in my area as Legacy and Commander. People have decks but there isn't a ton of players who are getting into it.

In case I didn't tell you, I don't care about your opinion I just want your facts. And not the facts that make you seem smart. I want the ones that are actual facts.
Genuine curious about the format. I keep hearing it's inevitable or it's dead on arrival and it's left me waiting to see if I should invest. Right now I hear it's mainly Coco and Siege Rhinos all day, but is that because of an unsettled meta? Either way I'd love to give my standard cards more use since modern is very outside my current card pool and embraces deck philosophies I'm not huge on (not a fan of 'oops I win' decks)
It's not getting much traction over here yet, though you do sometimes hear whispers and see the odd deck being pulled up. So it may yet get a foothold, who knows. I do like the setup for the format and don't mind the fetches as much, but they might be a bit too good in the end. Time will tell.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
You get rid of fetches, you give up any 3 color decks.
That's probably not a bad idea. It would slow the game down probably to WotC's satisfaction.
I have always been bothered that there is such easy access to colored mana via fetchlands. It should be hard to develop a deck with 3 or more colors strategically, but fetchlands provide a powerful effects for a 1 life loss.
My local is going to host a Frontier FNM shortly. I absolutely love that before the format is even a thing, people are talking about banning cards. My god. This is why Modern got bad.

This is my feeling exactly. We have a format with no preconceptions and nothing truly overpowered, lets see how it plays out before we start changing it.

I really haven't seen anything ban worthy yet in the format from the times I've been playing. Really, bannings are only necessary if the format takes off and we got pro-teams brewing as they usually have far more time to play and test certain decks than the average eternal player these days. I know it took me a few weeks to work out and test my GB undying deck and that was definitely not top tier in modern. I think depending on how the reprints go it will eventually just become like a modern 2.0, but the advantage this format has that modern doesn't is the complete annexing of the early core sets and a lot of problem mechanics like dredge and infect.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!
Personally i d ban
Tc dtt
Fetches
Coco
jace
Copter
Pretty much this
Again, MTGGoldfish has TC not in the top 50, DTT is 25th, CoCo at 3rd, JVP at 4th, and Copter at 2nd. So, TC and DTT seem like knee-jerk reactions.
I know, and probably with Fetches Banned delve would be even more difficult to exploit... But dtt and tv could become problematic on the long run. Preventive ban lol

- Treasure Cruise and Dig Through Time (of course).
- The Fetchlands. Maro has stated that he doesn't want them in a new format, but, frankly, removing Khans of Tarkir from Frontier would pretty much kill the format.
