I've been wanting to build a PDH deck for a while now. The only criteria for the deck was that it would have to be able to play against regular EDH decks, and still be able to win once in a while. This led me to a control/combo deck, since I don't think an all common aggro deck would be very efficient. So without further ado, here is the deck:
Sunscorched Desert is a perfect fit, so already wanted to add that. Viridian Longbow is a good suggestion, that could act as removal while im flitering throu the deck for combopieces. Thanks
Gelectrode has an untap clause and ping ability all in one. No need to use two separate cards. Cost more mana, but having both abilities you want all in one is probably worth it. I use Gelectrode with a pinger tribal deck and have loads of fun. If you have infinite spells, no need for the pump as you don't need to swing.
Also there is an Aura that will bounce a creature ever time the enchanted creature deals damage to a player. Great with Gelectrode as every spell adds an Unsummon. Name escapes me.... Sigil of Sleep
Flame slash is good removal in PDH, although less so if you are playing against full power decks.
And there is an instant Retrace Draw Spell that is usefull for getting rid of extra lands. Especially with infinite mana. Oona's Grace. and Flame Jab I also like for Gelectrode turning every land into a Shock

The main wincon is Peregrin Drake+Ghostly Flicker/Displace combo to get inifite storm or mana to sink into Blistercoil Weird with an ping'er enchanted or Rolling Thunder. Cloud of Faeries could also work, but only if i have both loci and Izzet Boilerworks in play.
I've been reading throu most of the dreamcusher thread, but im looking for futher suggestion specific for an izzet commander.
