I have been waiting and waiting for a decent RUG commander, and he's pretty bad ass. With the blink and bounce effects offered in the colors, he's super abusable.
The UWR common guy is less exciting, he's a morph.

You beat me to it! I was about to post a thread about this guy to compare him to Trostani's Summoner. I was interested in discussing who is the more powerful in reagrds to their ability and color pool.
What do you guys think? Is Bear's Companion more powerful due to the three colors? Red doesn't add a whole lot to Pauper EDH, but Blue is very powerful in conjunction with Green's massive ramp.
Trostani's Summoner's white pool adds control and blink elements, as well as other stuff.
I definitely want Bear's Companion to be the better card, RUG is my favorite color combination, but I'm interested to hear your input.

The companion seems super dumb with blink effects, or copy effects.

If the bear token had trample, it would be the better choice, but as it stands the Summoner's army is far superior with a 2/2 vigilance, a 3/3, and a 4/4 trampler. White has only 4 direct blink cards, but the combination of blue and green = ramp + card draw.
Nonetheless I'll be brewing something up with the Bear to see how it looks. Im excited to see what other wedge PEDH commanders this set will bring. (fingers crossed for Jeskai to have a hexproof creature)
I'd love to see the list when it's finished. I just made a Trostani's Summoner list a few days ago, only to see Bear's Companion spoiled in my favorite color combo shortly after. I'll get around to putting my list up later.
Strudel what I would brew would probably look very similar to my Nucklavee deck. Main difference being replacing the artifact ramp with superior green sorcery ramp. However that deck lacks killing power and I'm not sure that getting a few 4/4 non trampling tokens will increase my win percentages. In my Garruk's Packleader deck im not in a winning board state unless i have at least 5 4/4 creatures that have trample or are bigger.
The soothsayer looks really solid to me. Best control colors, good body for control, abuses the graveyard, good with ghostly flicker. Might just be the new go-to general for multicolor control.

I think red has better instant-speed ways of removing creatures. Fall of the Hammer seems straight up better, since it's half the mana and you wont lose your creature. The best way to maximuze fight if if your creature will luve afterwards, and +1/+0 does not help there.
Honestly I feel like M15 provided more PEDH autoincludes than Khans did, and ive not been getting good deckbuilding results with the new wedge Commanders yet.
Agreed on Swiftkick. Have you tried the Soothsayer? I think it's powerful as is with BUG goodstuff - of course the better flashback cards (like Crippling Fatigue) should be valued even higher with such a commander.

The problem is that the Soothsayer list I brewed is basically the same as my Baleful Strix list, except to draw a card it costs 5 instead of 2. Adding green did not do that much except replace the artifact ramp with green ramp. Warden of the eye is another possibility, but that brainstorm ended up being inferior to my Nucklavee list (and Nucklavee returns two cards rather than one.) In the end all 5 new wedge commanders have better options for what they do already. Armanent Corps is outclassed by Juniper order ranger, Mardu Roughrider is outclassed by other fatty/voltron commanders (such as woolly thoctar) and bear's companion's army isnt as formidable as trostani's summoner or vitu-ghazi guildmage. Im mostly disappointed because none of them actually do anything new, and the addition of the color wedges they provide is not enough of a tipping point.
Sad as it is, I'm inclined to agree Comicalflop. Unless green adds something crucial to your meta, you're probably better off with the strix.

This is an old thread and I'm very late to the party. My deepest apologies.
I did have to write about Warden of the Eye. I play EDH with a few fellow MTG nerds and I'm notoriously known as an exclusive pauper player, so much so that it's caught on with the rest of the group, and we get into some vicious pauper fights on Thursdays.
I have six duel colored pauper decks. Some of them are terrifying in one-on-one, but overall they still need a bit of work. For 20 to 25 dollars, I can buy a new deck from scratch, can handpick each card and pick it up at a local store.
Recently I wanted to try using three colors. I looked at all the uncommon commanders and for me it came down to Bant and Jeskai. Bant had some killer draw and trip abilities, with green offering plenty of flicker synergy. Red, however, had Izzet Chronarch (a more expensive version of Archaeomancer, which is also essential) and Quicksilver Dagger, plus the Warden himself. There's wizard synergy there, and with white, you can tutor for auras... but it turned out to be even more powerful than that. The key to the Infinite Combo with the Warden is the Peregrine Drake. With each blue and white flicker card, you can both flicker and draw your entire deck, with either Ghostly Flicker or Displace and Acrobatic Maneuver. Keep Library of Leng on hand, so you can pass the turn and return all those extra cards back into the library. The rest of the terribly onanistic element of this deck is that with blue, white, and red, there are sorceries and instants that prevent opponents from attacking, playing lands, drawing, playing creatures... and if you really can't help yourself, throw in Curfew or Sizzle. Play Sizzle over and over until everyone is dead, or play Curfew over and over until the board is clear, then prevent everyone from playing creatures.
This deck will draw incredible amounts of aggro. I haven't even perfected it yet, but I know I'm not going to win a lot of games with him. The deck's main weakness is grave hate. The only defense I can think of are counterspells and Feldon's Cane.
Here's the first legit RUG-identity general for PDH: Bear's Companion.

In terms of blink/bounce effects for their abilities, Trostani's Summoner has Cloudshift, Narrow Escape, Whitemane Lion, Otherworldly Journey, and so on.
Bear's Companion has Ghostly Flicker, Aether Tradewinds, Capsize, Dream Stalker, and so on.
