First impressions of Gryff: Very good. Having a body in the air to be a roadblock for any hasty threats post-blowup doesn't hurt either.

My Commander decks:
Chandra, Torch of Defiance - Oops! All Chandras.
Prime Speaker Zegana - Draw for Power.
Pir & Toothy - Counterpalooza.
Arcades, the Strategist - Another Brick in the Wall.
Zacama, Primal Calamity - Calamity of Double Mana.
Edgar Markov - Vampires Don't Die.
Child of Alara - Dreamcrusher.
I didn't say exactly what I meant, sorry. If one (like me) wants to prepare the deck to play 1x1 just in case (sometimes the table isn't full of people), TC must go. In this scenario only, of course thanks Zombie!
So the Gryff has become a very great fixture of the deck. It's not Sidisi's Faithful levels of amazing, but it's definitely high tier for this deck. Displace has shown to be a cut in time needed to assemble the combo as well, albeit not by all that much. Still, it's nice being able to use Displace/Flicker in a pinch on something else without having to worry that a stray exile card will immediately ruin your day. SOI block has been decent to the deck

So there's a cycle of cards like Thorn, at least White, Red and Green each have one. I'm tempted to run them, though if your meta is high on aggressive decks, they might be a liability instead. They're interesting, that's for sure.

Have all common monarch cards been released yet? It does seem like a perfect ability for this deck.

Sidisi's Faithful is good enough on its own to justify running Vedalken Aethermage to give us another way to get it. Is Wretched Gryff good enough on its own to replace the wizardcycler?

I cut another sac piece, actually, in Merciless Resolve. Far as I'm concerned, sac pieces only replace sac pieces at this point as I feel I hit the exact right number by now.

Yea, I'm gonna slam-dunk that one. It's untapped mana in a pinch, near-perfect early game mana fixing and can even act as delve fodder for Treasure Cruise. What's not to love?

Yay, long time no see
The Monarch thing is meh IMHO. Not for now at least.
This Ash Barrens is beautiful! I will take that Piranha Marsh out and grab one of these for me.
I have just updated my deck, using Urdjur's standpoint (silver bullets, ramp, dig/draw, recursion, sac outlets, and lands).
Please see my sig and help me with your feedback.
IMO:
- Shade's Form is a silver bullet on itself because it can steal an opponent's creature as well. I gave up Darksteel Pendant to it and will never look back.
- Maybe Oblivion Strike is better than Scour from Existence. Thoughts?
- I'm thinking about running Shimmering Grotto and Unknown Shores replacing 1 Swamp (or Mountain?) and 1 Plains. I currently have 13 lands which ETB untapped and I'd like to mantain this number, even considering these lands (like Opal Palace) are slower to cast CoA on T5. Thoughts?
- Is there any room to False Defeat? I guess not, considering it's a 4-cmc spell and we already run Breath of Life.
Thanks in advance

I'm still not a fan of the card, it feels too unreliable for me because whatever you steal will get nuked before too long anyway. Rarely does it give enough value from my testing.
- Maybe Oblivion Strike is better than Scour from Existence. Thoughts? Not if you ever run into Darksteel Forge it isn't. Instant speed also helps. Oblivion Strike is great against your Avacyns and Spearbreaker Behemoths, but there's other indestructible stuff you might want to get rid of too. Which is why Scour is always first to me.

I currently have 13 lands which ETB untapped and I'd like to mantain this number, even considering these lands (like Opal Palace) are slower to cast CoA on T5. Thoughts? Really not worth it. With the mana fixing already available to us, they just slow our gameplan down a wee bit too much for my likings.
- Is there any room to False Defeat? I guess not, considering it's a 4-cmc spell and we already run Breath of Life. Never hurts to have an extra copy. I'd cut Pulse of Murasa myself. If the 6 life saves you too often, then I'd cut Foresee (Not a fan personally).

Behold Renegade Map.
Almost as good as Ash Barrens, especially in early game, but never useless IMO. Will test it for sure.
Good to see less dependency to green. Maybe with time it'll become more like a splash color, as red and white.
Compare Renegade Map to Traveler's Amulet. Would you run both? Are you running Traveler's Amulet in your current build?
Amulet looks subpar because, as Map, it can be used on T2, but the first will tap one land and the latter won't.
But again, both are really useful only on early game. On late game they are about equivalent - and not that good IMO...
I'm not sure I really want that effect. Compare to Mycosynth Wellspring. Sure, it takes up your turn 2, but it also repays itself once your Child goes kaputski. Doubt it'll ever make the list for me, though it's a better consideration than most commons these days.

I recently picked up the non-pauper version of this deck and was wondering about a few cards to include they are:
- natural order : its a sac outlet that lets you tutor what you tutor for is up to how you build the deck what i have been doing with it is using it to get a finisher namely progenitus but i suppose it could have other uses as well
- dryad arbor : makes use of the plentiful creature tutors in the list as well as makes primal growth a very strong turn 3
- abzan charm : really only for the first 2 abilities you can use it to get rid of some of the hard to hit targets for CoA or alternatively it becomes a draw 2
- cords of calling : makes for a solid tutor great with the creature focus
these are most likely a little skewed as my most played decks are ones that aggressively tutor for 1 of combo pieces and silver bullets (melira combo and Spanish inquisition)
Augur of Bolas got pushed down to Common. This might be interesting for the pauper version of the build...

Saw it too. It costs 1 less than Sea Gate Oracle and digs one more. But can fizzle the draw. I personally would play only one of these but I'm on the fence...
If you are really really into combo I guess it is. One bounce land and this will do.
That said... It is bad for everything else... Colorless sucks in this deck. I myself never assembled the combo. Maybe I try a completely vanilla build (bounce lands are normally clunky IMO) with some more redundancy...
