Yeah, back in the day, I used to play Relic Barrier/Winter Orb combo but I recently learned that WotC nerfed Winter Orb so Static Orb it is then. I might add Ring of Gix as a backup to the Barrier. Gix is more mana intensive bit offers more versatility.
After some goldfishing, the deck does seem a little disjointed (as I feared) so I've been rethinking the card mix. I'm thinking of dropping [s]Stone Rain and Molton Rain and moving Pillage to the board. I'm thinking of adding the [s]Thopter Foundry/Sword of the Meek/Altar of the Brood[/s] mill combo as an alt. wincon. I'm also considering lowering my Couterspell count and upping the boomerang effects. Temporal Adept might also fit the bill here.
Soulfire Grand Master opens up room for burn spells like Flame Rift and Char. But aside from 3 ways to win with the Ascendancy combo (beatdown, mill or self-mill) I need some alternate wincons in case the combo gets broken. Aggro-burn is one way to go, also counter-burn. I don't have much experience with counter-burn strategys and am not to sure to include.
For Aggro Burn, I can go with Mantis Rider, Boros Reckoner, Hearthfire Hobgoblin, Vexing Devil and Viashino Firstblade.
Any suggestions?

I think I've found a home for my prison deck under the command of Merieke Ri Berit. Shu Yun has now become my reigning Jeskai Master for my "Return of the Jeskai (Ascendancy)" deck. I'm updating the OP with the new decklist and notes. As always, ideas, comments and suggestions are always welcome.
Dusting this off because, thanks to Andrew Cuneo's UR Mill deck, I want to brew up a Jeskai version of his deck for standard, but then I remembered this deck and thought this would be a good starting point. That plus the fact that I have access to much better draw spells than in standard.
Edit: Day's Undoing looked enticing with the promise of 7-8 Tutelage triggers, but a few test games showed that the trade-off of reshuffling the graveyard into the library really works against the combo. It works if I can combo it early (16-24 cards) but late it's completely dead.

So I want to see if Jeskai Ascendancy combo can work in Tiny Leaders. There are three ways to win off the combo. Mill with Altar of the Brood and Monastery Mentor. Self Mill with Laboratory Maniac or Aggro swarm with Monastery Mentor. The dynamic duo of Riddlesmith & Mirran Spy can fill in for Ascendancy in a pinch doing everything but the creature buffs. Engineered Explosives and Chalice of the Void provide the free artifact spell to bounce and recast.
There are five tutors (Enlightened, Mystical, Tolaria West, Muddle the Mixture and Drift of Phantasms) Drift only makes the cut as the only 3mc mono-U transmute card available.
The rest of the deck tries hard to go aggro with a side of burn

So I'm looking at adding:

3 Day's Undoing

Day's Undoing could be an insta-win card with a tutelage in play. Brainstorm is an auto include, but the rest are kinda iffy until I try to test this out. I'm thinking of dropping Riddlesmith, Drift of Phantasms, Mirran Spy, Muddle the Mixture, Mystical Tutor, Enlightened Tutor, and Mantis Rider for the additional draw. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
