Kjeldoran Dead is also relatively versatile, like Twisted Abomination, except with a sacrifice effect attached. Regenerate is underrated IMO
If you want ca, then you should get reaping the graves (getting 2 even in top deck mode is pretty trivial, you simply wait for your oppeonts turn. And it is absurd outside that. I do not think I have ever been in a situration where I had it in hand, wanted creatures back and would get less than 3) and death denied atleast.
Gush might or might not be a staple in some lists, but likely not in control. The setback in tempo is too large. Also, you want to be able to play your commander so you need to get to 6 mana and this, if played before requires two more turns to do so.

True, true. All good points, I think I'll drop Gravepurge for Reaping the Graves. The biggest issue is keeping my creature count high enough for me to always have a high creature count in my GY. This is attained through either loot effects, sac engines, or dredge; and I only REALLY want those abilities attached to creatures as opposed to non-permanents. Handy instants/sorceries are only good for Archaeomancer/Scrivener/Mnemonic Wall recursion, and that's not very consistent without Ghostly Flicker in hand.
So I'm not saying not to suggest instants/sorceries/enchantments/artifacts, but I'm trying to find cards with these sought after effects on creatures.

I think you're running a few too many versions of Nantuko Husk and I'm not sure Chimney Imp is ever really worth it. Soulshriek is more at home is a less controlly deck, same with Sadistic Glee and Eternal Thirst. I'm on the fence about Pestilence.

Yes, this is a pauper list, so I can't run any of those suggestions.
I should def put in Tortured Existence, Dimir House Guard, Mystical Teachings, and Stitcher's Apprentice. I think more dredge and delve are needed, but there aren't too many tasty options not already included. I've had excellent results using Krovikan Sorcerer and Soulshriek though, and Gush is a staple but maybe I'd toss it for Darksteel Pendant. I need lots of digs and card advantage, lots and lots.
