Tempest Remastered is a version of the Tempest block merged into one set and only availble for Magic online. It plays with some of the rarities in the block and therefore some new cards have become commons. I know that some of you use the magic online list to define legality and hence this post.
Nothing terribly broken. Bottle Gnomes is cool & Whispers of the Muse is decent albeit probably not tier 1 compared to other available card draw these days. It's disappointing that it's only available online. I would love to have a few of the Pauper staples from this set in the modern card frame.
How do others feel about online only commons? I recall several PDH decklists in this forum that ran things like Fellwar Stone that was never printed at common in a paper set.
I go by the "common anywhere" school of thought. It's usually quite safe (and more fun) to expand the card pool with on line commons.

I only play online and uses the idea that all the cards I use are commons (i.e. if there are more than 1 version I use the common one, even if it was more expensive - happens once in awhile - simply to ensure I do not cheat). Hence, I follow the "only if it is printed online as a common"-rule

Agreed; nothing format shattering but a few interesting options. Bottle Gnomes is an alright card that I guess could see play here or there. Staunch Defenders actually seems decent because 3/4 is a reasonable body for this format. I can think of a few blue decks that'd like to run Whispers of the Muse...
Patchwork Gnomes wasn't in the Rath Cycle (Tempest Block). What card is that supposed to be?

You would never guess, at the terrifying sight of the man, that Hunding was as charming a companion as one could wish for.
Patchwork Gnomes was first printed in Tempest; the Odyssey version is a reprint.
My playgroup plays strictly with paper-printings only, so changes in online rarities do not have an impact. Of that list, being able to include some of the slivers to a 5Color sliver deck, and Whispers of the Muse for 1v1 blue control are the only cards worth looking at.
Modern Masters 2, however *fingers crossed for awesome rarity changes like the original Modern Masters*
