I'm considering building a Tiny Leaders Cube since I've got an EDH cube but sometimes I want to Cube 1v1 games.
Want some input on the following:
1) Should I follow the banlist, or allow banned cards? They'll be more difficult to build around, and allow for exciting/swingy plays. Would likely include all of the moxen, maybe Edric, Earthcraft. Probably not Jitte since it's so oppressive.
2) Should I do generals as a special 16th slot in the packs, or mix them in the main cube? I do the former with my EDH Cube, but if I do that here I'd need 24 since I'm doing 3 packs per player, which seems like an awkward number
3) How much should I support individual generals' strategies as opposed to just goodstuff? The extreme here would be Thopter Foundry, which would literally only be playable in Sydri, Galvanic Genius, but would be a cornerstone there. Also relevant is Phyrexian Dreadnought for Varolz, the Scar-Striped, though I can also support the 'Nought with stuff like Mastery of the Unseen, Torpor Orb, and Illusionary Mask.

Hypercube! A New EDH Deck Every Week(ish)!
I played Radha for my first tourney and went 2-2. My losses were really close games.
My second tournament I brought Ezuri and went 2-1 (it was a 6 man) and my only losses were to Dark Depths Turbofog and only lost because I was locked down with fog effects and in one game locked bya Sceptered Orim's Chant.
The loss to turbofog made me commit to an idea I had to build a Radha Elfball deck. The deck skirts around counterspells with Banefire and Demonfire and has extra hurt with Comet Storm and Devil's Play. I's good against Turbofog since most fog effects only work against combat damage.
One combo in the deck that I love against non-Turbofog decks is playing Genesis Wave then revealing either Concordant Crossroads or Mass Hysteria! If I also hit Ezuri with it then I can pump a but ton as well! It feels like I'm playing Craterhoof Behemoth!
Using Radha as my Commander also means I'm not as vulnerable to tuck effects as one might be with Ezuri decks. Some games I don't even use Radha.
I'll post a list a bit later on, but I definitely wanted to share the idea. I haven't seen a list like mine yet.
I've been playing an Anax and Cymede deck. Play a bunch of creatures, play pump spells and run over the enemy. Pretty straightforward and fun but still sometimes a challenge with ordering of spells and choosing what cards to put in the deck!
I have been thinking of playing a BW warriors deck. I think that'd be pretty fun. With Athreos at the head. Does anyone have any suggestions with recursion/sac outlets that would work well with this archetype? Greatly appreciated
Font of Return and Haunted Crossroads are pretty good! And you can't go wrong with Unearth! Grim Harvest is good as well, but you better cast it later in the game so you don't lose it if you can't pay the Recover cost.
Hey all, quick question here. Between Sensei's Divining Top and Sylvan Library, which does everyone think is better in the format? Let's ignore the fact that Top can be played in any color, and instead assume green mana would always be available to cast Library. In other words: if you could play both of these cards, which would one you pick? Would you ever choose to run both?
I personally prefer Top, but it's a pet card of mine so I'm obviously partial. What does everyone else think?

I am totally new to the format and I have no idea whatsoever what to expect. Is there any archetype list available somewhere ?
I would like to build an abzan deck around spells such as pernicious deed, drown in sorrow, inquisition of kozilek, ... I guess this has been tested already. Is this performing well ? Any list you would recommend me to start with ?
So, due to my LGS moving from Traditional 100 card commander, Tiny Leaders has taken over. I would assume due to the speed at which games go (compared to 8 man FFA) and the relative ease of deck construction. The player level at my LGS is rather low with a few that have moderate skill, so a 50 card deck would seem more appealing to people wanting to play "EDH". Because of this, a buddy and I decided to make decks that we could play. In doing so, we've come across some interesting combos and such. For the record, I've got Feldon and Sidri and my buddy has Yasova. We also currently don't have sideboards for them. Yasova Dragonclaw is his own concoction. He used to have this standard pauper deck a while back and it was full of defenders and did silly things. This build is similar in that he uses defenders to generate absurd mana (via Axebane Guardian) to do silly things. I'll list his main string:
Mind you this is a bit clunky, but it is fun as hell to see it do things. It does put a hamper on aggro as his walls are cheap and sometimes big. He has a few tracks he can follow depending on the situation. Brain Freeze Mill is a thing especially with Doorkeeper (+ Phantasmal Image Doorkeeper) and normal Doorkeeper activations. Mill for over half my deck in 2 turns is scary. Sydri, Galvanic Genius is not my concoction, but it is a mix of a couple of decks I found online that seemed interesting. It has 2 combos in it, 3 depending on what I want to do with my sb.
Sundial of the Infinite + Feldon Reanimated Token = keep the reanimated token Illusionist's Bracers + Feldon = Do Feldon's Abilty TWICE!! Since it creates a token of said dead critter, you can target the same creature twice. Double Ball Lightning much?
Second: my LGS is running a tiny leaders FNM in a couple of weeks time. Exciting! Got my pimped out dual lands and extended-art leader ready :). Even breaking out the alt-art-foil liliana i own, and some of my gold bordered cards.
It's the pimp format. No doubts there.

Why is Sword of Body and Mind banned in tiny leaders? It seems fine, it would push mill kind of hard, but it would be cool to have a format where mill is actually viable. Or am I missing something?
The presence of the card wouldn't push mill hard like you say. SoBaM isn't a mill card. A mill deck doesn't run a lot of creatures and isn't likely to land many hits with the Sword. At five mana to play and equip and HOPE to land a hit, only getting 10 cards is pretty lame. You'd have to hit twice to even come close to it being acceptable for that much mana investment.
Essentially yes, they're worried the mill aspect is too good. But what makes it good (in my opinion, and maybe this is their reason as well) isn't mill decks, it's the idea that my aggro deck can suddenly switch to a pretty decent mill plan because you had too much life gain for me to handle. In a non-mill creature based aggro deck, it's a strong, versatile equipment that represents its own win con that can get there in ~3 swings.

Huh, I guess that makes sense. Still shouldn't be banned though imo. I also think Black Vise would probably be safe too...
So I'm just getting into this format and I'm using Yasova for now, but I've been noticing Smother and Inquisition of Kozilek are some of the best cards in the format for obvious reasons. Because of this I'm considering running a Leader with black, however I don't want to rush into things. Does anyone know of any other cards that have similar low value in outside formats? Perhaps a better Path to exile?

Around here in Ottawa Vendilion Clique is pretty strong, as well as esper decks. Basically if you can run Black Sun's Zenith or Toxic Deluge you will be doing fine. Those seem to be the two best removal spells in the format.

You should play the deck and colors you enjoy, rather than focusing on the best cards in the format and wishing you could run them. Every color has its advantages just like in any other format. For black, the CMC and life loss restrictions happen to work out very well for them, as well as generally lower toughnesses make Disfigure type effects better. For blue, suddenly Mental Misstep and Spell Snare are a lot better and they have access to one of the only two worthwhile legal planeswalkers (sorry Tibalt). Red's burn spells are all significantly better, especially the likes of Firebolt and Burst Lightning. White has always had some of the most efficient removal and this format doesn't restrict it hardly at all, plus the low power of individual creatures makes Condemn and Swords to Plowshares have less of a drawback, not to mention just about any deck can happily run Stoneforge Mystic into any of the Swords.

Axebane Guardian + crab umbra/freed from the real/galvanic alchemist = infinite mana of any color (max 4 TOTAL defenders needed)
Overgrown Battlement + crab umbra/freed from the real/galvanic alchemist + blue mana = Some amount of green mana that can be used to Bonfire
Well with all this mana how do you win?
doorkeeper + crab umbra/freed from the real/galvanic alchemist + Axebane combo = Mill all the cards
bonfire of the damned + Battlement Combo and red mana/Axebane combo = Moar damage!!

Feldon of the Third Path is just full of fun graveyard shenanigans.
Sundial of the Infinite + Feldon Reanimated Token = keep the reanimated token
Illusionist's Bracers + Feldon = Do Feldon's Abilty TWICE!! Since it creates a token of said dead critter, you can target the same creature twice. Double Ball Lightning much?
