Hey all! My EDH playgroup decided to give Tiny Leaders a try, and I decided I wanted to build a combo deck. Specifically, I wanted to try to make a Doomsday combo work. U/B are typically the best colors for this sort of thing, and since Sygg, River Cutthroat is the only legal general in those colors, he is my leader. I don't plan on ever casting him.
For those unfamiliar with Doomsday combos, they work like this: Doomsday allows you to search your library and graveyard for five cards, exile the rest, and put those five on top of your library in any order. You create a pile like the following:
With the enough mana, you draw into Gitaxian Probe, cast it to draw into Predict, and cast Predict naming Laboratory Maniac. This puts Laboratory Maniac into the graveyard and draws you two cards, leaving your library empty. You then Unearth the Laboratory Maniac, and cast a cantrip (typically Street Wraith, but that isn't legal in this format) to draw a card from your empty library, winning the game.
This is just one example of the numerous 'piles' that can be created and adjusted to suit your matchup and situation.
I am going to leave this sidenote of maybe toss a wish board in there as Death Wish and Cunning Wish can grab you what you need at times for a sideboard. Furthermore i'dd add in one or two more creatures as creatures make for very efficient beaters and you are wide open for being overrun. Wall of frost, sigiled starfish ect would help in my opinion.
Is there any particular reason why you deprive yourself a third color if you don't care about the commander? You have Lady Evangela, Merieke Ri Berit, Sydri or even Umezawa himself. I suppose merieke is a pretty good back up plan herself, and should help against agggro. Also, white should be useful.

As odd as this sounds, I think R will be big in this format, it might even help to include Hydroblast and/or Blue Elemental Blast, as I foresee playing this deck you will hear "in response to you trying to win, Lightning Bolt your Manaic" a lot. Definitely include them in sideboard.
No idea have not played a real player both those cards seem fairly bad outside of combo . I just put in snapcaster for recursion backup on doomsday since for whatever reason I can't use time twister while wheel and windfall are legal.. Snap is actually useful when it's not serving it's purpose of deck resilancy. Though when you cast doomsday your pretty much all in most players will wait to kill Labman or interrupt your chain post DD.
I built this deck and tried it out and here are some suggestions.
Run a Lotus Petal.
It makes for some insane draws and helps with piles if you need blue mana for example.
Change your mana base to allow for tainted pact and demonic consultation as it gives you some way to win even if you doomsday gets countered.
Idea's unbound isn't that great it usally just sits in your hand would have any instant speed draw spell instead to win with.
Celephid colesum is bad with doomsday great with like demonic consultation and tainted pact as its not counterable unless they have stifle which most dont run.
Someone here suggested culling the weak and its really good to go off with also dark ritual.
This deck is really tough to play and you should mulligan a lot to find either tutor or a ton of cantrips.
I have played it at 2 tournaments at my LGS lost mainly to dying because of not doomsdaying correctly or just getting burned out after casting doomsday. Did get some sweet turn 2 or 3 wins.
First of all what do you guys think of Quicken? Making Doomsday into an instant and replacing itself, looks pretty sweet and it could be useful with other sorcery spells in the deck. Also, I'd imagine the deck is pretty good with the win condition part but do you have a plan B? Or do you sometimes need one? I was thinking maybe mill could be sneaked in as a side win condition, with cards like Nephalia Drownyard, milling 40 cards while having some forms of combo should be pretty feasible.
Just wanted to say I really loved this idea and was thinking of doing it as my second Tiny Leaders, but is it resilient and achievable enough? (The fact that you can use the combo pieces and then put them back in your library with Doomsday excites me alot hahaha)
Edit: Worth looking at; Demonic Consultation calling for Laboratory Maniac, when Laboratory Maniac is on the field is also a way to win
Edit 2: Sorry this deck really inspires me, if you fear removal, why not play a Reanimate effect? Too bad we can't play Azami, Lady of Scrolls to regain priority...

Sygg being cheap can be sac'd to Culling the Weak for a mana boost, not to mention Dark Ritual.
