MTG Salvation

This Baral, Chief of Compliance deck is classic mono-blue. When you say you're playing mono-blue to your friends, or particularly, Baral, Chief of Compliance, this is probably very close to what they're thinking and hating you for. It's chock full of counterspells. It's literally a deck full of answers that says no until it wins. It wins with Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur. It's got four Polymorph variations and six tutors, so you often see our Praetorian pal around turn four. I intend to sit at a table with decks trying to Storm, Ad Nauseam or High Tide about that early. That's why I included the counterspells decks use when they have to put on their big boy pants, like Flusterstorm and Mental Misstep. I've never built a deck that wanted to need those sorts of cards -- in fact, I think they represent a game that bears little in common with Commander. Despite that, I do hold the Commander concept dear, and couldn't forsake theme and style, and I think this is a deck Baral would be proud to call his own - why, if I lived in Kaladesh, I imagine a deck like this would make me his deputy in no time. Baron Cappuccino, Deputy of Compliance. It has a nice ring to it. What I don't want is opponents actually casting any spells or having any fun -- not if I can help it. Not if Baral can help it.
