I've tried similar approach but it didn't work. While discard plan is good on paper, most of your deck consists of mana dorks and stones which you may play from graveyard over and over and... nothing more. You have literally only one way to win - Emrakul - and even that is not reliable when your plan is stripping opponents of their hands. You need more draw effects and more threats / some kind of combo to win. I used Flash-Hulk but still suffered badly from unlucky draws and card quality I mentioned.

That's fair. I have plans with LED, Image, animate dead for infinite mana into playing my graveyard but am looking at more options for finishing the game. Thinking that Perncious deed or Sunder to make sure I'm the only one with a board would work well.

If you're looking to do Muldrotha Stax I have a few suggestions.

Lethal Vapors - With Muldrotha on the board, this either kills every creature your opponents attempt to cast, or causes one of your opponents to lose their turn every turn cycle. In either instance I think this card is pretty sweet. And replaying it every turn when your opponents are losing turns to destroy it is just icing on the cake.

Standstill - This card serves two purposes. First, it makes some of your opponents not want to cast spells, while also making your other opponents that get to draw cards thank you for the card draw. This helps alleviate a little bit of the hatred you'll get at the table for playing a Stax deck. And second, when you go infinite with Muldortha, LED, and Phantasmal Image, Standstill is your win condition as it allows you to just have your opponents deck themselves.

Glacial Chasm - Don't play the cumulative upkeep, and just replay the land every turn. Never lose to damage. GGs friends.

I like the first two and will likely test them out in the future. I don't know about the chasm since a majority of the win cons in my opponents decks include destroying lands, comboing out, or pretty much everything but attacking

If you were able to resolve a dream halls and a greater good you would be able to draw your whole deck and win with laboratory maniac

These changes may not stick, I don't like cutting Ponder or Preordain at all but sorceries are fairly bad in here. This will likely change in the future as I only cut them because I wanted to test those 6 cards. I want to try Dark Depths as well which means Thespain stage and crop rotation will likely be added in that test.
Minister of pain and Profaner work well with Living plane and gives me a one sided geddon which has been my biggest need. I can nuke all permanents easy but have few ways to kill lands. This seems like the best route for land destruction.
Anyway, looking forward to testing these out

Cut Emrakul, Liliana the last hope, and Tatyonia for Razaketh, the eldest reborn, and Shreikmaw.

Figure repeatable removal and the sagas seem good in here. Eldest being the best option for me.
And Razaketh can easily combo with the deck. Just find Mindslicer and remove opponents hands. With that tutor find Intuition for the win or Living plane for one sided wipes if that isn't an option.

I always thought of building muldrotha Stax with a way to sacrifice the Stax pieces at the end of the last players turn and recasting them on our turn so they don't affect us.

Could also do that but there aren't many cards that allow you to sacrifice any permanent.

my plan with mukdrotha is to use stax pieces to lock everyone else out and sac them before my turn and then recast them so they dont affect me.i made my group quit when i had tangle wire out with atraxa and played cataclysm. fun times to hear the moans of agony. fun times

That does sound like a lot of fun. Do you have a list online?

anyways... the stacks pieces tend to be artifacts or enchantments. if we focus on artifacts, im thinking theres cards out there to sacrifice artifacts. i dont have a list. i would need to sit down and do research on gatherer but thats what i was hoping to do with muldrotha. was hoping someone else had the same idea and had alrdy posted a list. lol

heres a gatherer list of cards that will let you sac perms. some of them are a one time instant a few a perms themselves:

When I built the list I saw the same cards and found that only Claws of Gix is really worth while in here

You can make more work but they need 2 cards instead of 1. Servant is a good card in general and barrin would work great. We alrdy run a lot of mana rocks to break the symmetry so the mana is used to activate barrin as many times as there are creatures in play. Then, and maybe im misunderstanding the rules a bit, any of the cards that say you may sacrifice a permanent to ignore an effect, you can do as many times as youd like to ignore the affect that many times and none of them say do this only as a sorcery. Then any of the o es that sac artifacts work as well bc a lot of stax cards are artifacts so we give thermal navigator flying as many times as we need to. Theres multiple ones that work

I like Barrin and I want to test him out in the future but my group isn't very creature based so I don't think he would be as good. I like that saccing of a permanent but my current build doesn't have too many things that I need to sacrifice often.





One of my favorite combos is landing Walking Balista with Living Plane and shooting down lands. When I get a cradle active it's usually a one sided geddon.

Barrin doesnt have to be only their creatures, just a heads up its essentially a way to remove a bunch of our stax pieces in one card. There are a lot of creatures we can use to lock down or slow down board states as well. For example, even though its not in our colors, hokori, the dust drinker hurts us as well unless we bounce it. But yeah... it is a downside to barrin. I dont like to blow up lands using 2 cards when i can do it with 1. And if im blowing up lands, i usually dont need mine bc im ahead on board with rocks. Usually mass LD is one sided in stax bc of how stax is built to break the symetry of the locks. Thats why i can cataclysm, or cards of the like, and not care. Lol

While it's fairly color intensive, I really like the inclusion of Voidmage Prodigy or Spiketail Drakeling. Combined with some of the Stax effects you're playing, it's possible that the 2 counters the spell you need it to. Both cards sac themself so you can recur them with Muldrotha while also being strong effects on their own.

I feel like Glen Elendra and Siren Stormtamer would be better and I have stormtamer on my list to test out right now so I'm not sure there's room for them. I don't feel like I'm lacking in those effects but possibly could try it out in the future.

So another change that I never really considered before is I have too much ramp in here. Other builds I've done had ramp around 10-13 cards while this has 19. I know that is too much but am taking the number down a little slower
Today I just cut signets for more 1-2 cmc cards that I want to test and one of which can ramp as well
