Hello everyone! This is my first posting on these forums. I was wondering if anyone out there had any suggestions for my Angus Mackenzie deck? Any help and suggestions are appreciated.
I can see how deck direction and win con could be useful! The deck is VERY hug focused and the general win con is making people draw their deck. A key part of this is staying as non-threatening as possible.
The two Eldrazi are only in the deck to shuffle the graveyard back into your deck. If I recall correctly I have only ever summoned one of them once when a game was going very very poorly.
Many of the spells are used to help thin out peoples decks and have them help you do it. Things like collective voyage and minds aglow help with this.
Late game sphinx's tutelage and jace's erasure dropped right before big draw or a wheel can win you the game.
I've tried to avoid counters, board wipes, and most taxes(not including attacking me). I have tried to make a fun hug deck that can win and that the entire table can actually enjoy. The ultimate goal is to win the game without attacking, countering, or clearing anything from your opponent.
Forced Fruition is a hilarious hug card. If eating through opponents library is what you are aiming to do, that enchantment is the ticket. If you aren't opposed to tutors maybe Academy Rector or Enlightened Tutor to set that one up. Mesmeric Orb is Dreamborn Muse's best friend and Clever Impersonator can double as any of the previous mentioned bombs as well as copy something juicy on the other side of the table. Phyrexian Metamorph to a lesser degree.
Ok, so you're a turbofog deck that likes to win though milling.
As to Forced Fruition: in my group that card gets you targeted almost immediately. Giving everybody cards is one thing, but there is such a thing as too much. The Eldrazi make you seem really threatening even if you don't plan to cast them. If you truly want to seem harmless, Gaea's Blessing and Elixir of Immortality can accomplish the same thing.
Some other suggestions, in no particular order:
Awakening is a nice hug card but also allows you to untap your lands and commander during every turn, which means you can always use him when needed.
You need a way to eliminate opposing cards that prevent you from winning with mill. Erase can do the job, but if you run Jester's Cap + Academy Ruins you can do it repeatedly. This also gives you a way to cripple combo (Bye bye labman!), because they are probably not hampered at all by the fogs but helped tremendously by the additional draw.
As additional protection vs combo, a "you can't lose" card might be good. Seeing how you prevent combat damage anyway, Gideon of the Trials might work as an additional failsafe. Otherwise, maybe Platinum Angel? I see you're already running a Pariah's Shield but that simply won't prevent you from dying to an infinite combo.
This deck has so many artifacts and enchantments, it could use an Enlightened Tutor.

The secret to enjoyable Commander games is not winning first, but losing last.

I am no expert at MTG so please correct me if any of my logic is flawed. I like a lot of the suggestions!
Forced Fruition - This is generally something that goes down later in the game after decks are already thinned out. It has won me a few games and is a card I never mind tossing into the discard during end step since I can get it back multiple ways. If there is a card that could take its place I would love to know.
Clever Impersonator + Phyrexian Metamorph - I actually really like these two. Metamorph less but still great. I would love to fit Clever Impersonator in but not sure what I would cut.
Awakening - What a great card. Like the above cards not sure what I would cut for it but being able to Angus at the start of every combat sounds hilarious.
Gaea's Blessing - I like this one and will probably cut one of the Eldrazi for it. I do like having them in there for those just in case situations. I don't like winning from attacking but I will if it really requires it.
Seasons Past - Although this does seem to be a better card as far as its effect it does cost a lot more then Nostalgic Dreams. The low cost of Nostalgic Dream makes sure I can use it early game to get back things I might/need.
Jester's Cap + Academy Ruins - Fantastic combo and still fits with a the 'play nice' feeling of the deck. I'm not sure what I would cut for the cap though.
I usually don't find infinite damage combos to be that threatening. Once Pariah or Pariah shield comes out along with bubble matrix killing me with damage becomes very difficult. Or either of the Pariah cards with an indestructible eldrazi.
Seasons Past v.s. Nostalgic Dreams: Maybe it's just a matter of preference, but another quality I like about Season's Past is that it allows you to recover fully from topdeck mode with just one card. It's cards like this and Genesis Wave that allow you to get back in the game completely after a boardwipe or something set you back completely. The Dreams requiring discard means it's card disadvantage (you spend 1 card more then you get back) whilst Seasons Past always gets you back at least 3-4 cards in my experience and never goes below card parity.
Edits posted in the original comment for the deck list. I added in Fractured Identity because I think this will be a hilarious hug card. I know you suggest it for spot removal but I think it would be fun to use it on something likeFont of Mythos.
As for Twincast and Redirect. I would love to add redirect to the deck but not sure what I would cut for it. I will do some playtesting and try it out. For Twincast I'm not sure what in the deck it would be used with other than the tutor. Most of the other cards in the deck are single use does it all like Constant Mists.
Twincasts usefulness varies from meta to meta. Mine is pretty spell-heavy so there are always good targets to copy. Can't beat a Tooth and Nail or Bribery for UU.

As for what to cut for Jester's Cap: I think the Magus of the Vineyard can go, as it's not helping you fog or mill.
