This decklist is simply to keep track of the Edric deck I decided to build. It's a lot more fun to play than I anticipated and it allows me to play a more aggro-control game. It's a fairly simple deck, all things considered, but there are still some good decision points in a deck.
Also note that this deck, while being exceptionally cheap to build, outside of a few non-critical land (i.e. Time Warp, Craterhoof Behemoth, and Gaea's Cradle), is very consistent and surprisingly effective at winning games. Casting Biomass Mutation is far and away my favorite way to win with this deck, beating out even good ol' Hoofer.
EDIT: Um, this deck is actually WAY stronger than I thought. It's actually one of the more competitive decks I have, and it's hella cheap too.
One of the most powerful cards, actually, is Druids' Repository. This card generates mana like nothing else in the deck, often more powerful and relevant than Gaea's Cradle. One could easily build this deck for under $100 dollars and have it turn out great, so this is a great option to keep in mind.
Ok, I've tweaked the deck so that it's much more competitive. I've updated the OP with the current list that I've been running and it's satisfyingly annoying and consistent. Take that, Animar decks!
The new Time Walk spell that they've spoiled in M19 looks fantastic for this deck. Nexus of Fate shuffles itself back in and creates a reliable infinite combo with the deck (draw your deck with all of the Edric triggers and chained Time Warp effects and kill each opponent with an unblockable creature and Nexus of Fate) until their dead. Granted, Beacon of Tomorrows does the same thing, so it's good to have some redundancy. And the art is cool!
Is Tetsuko redundant? Or does that help in case a Bitterblossom drops early, etc.? Been thinking about building this deck recently because I have all the cards.
@MRdown2urth Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive is great at making some of the utility pieces and mana dorks unblockable and legit Edric creatures. He himself isn't awesome as a card, but being able to grant unblockable-ness to the mana dorks or other utility creatures to allow them to trigger Edric is very relevant.
If we could play Bitterblossom, I don't know if we would. It doesn't generate a creature immediately so that you can swing with it and trigger Edric. It's much better when we're chaining Time Warps together, since the 'Blossom's effect compounds over time, but it doesn't generate value quickly enough for our purposes. It does add a dimension of stability to the deck since a Wrath effect won't really slow down Bitterblossom very much.
I totally recommend this deck. It's hella annoying and draws more cards than any other deck I've ever seen that wasn't going infinite. I consistently draw 30+ cards over the course of a game, which makes my inner control player VERY happy. I don't think you'll be disappointed in playing it!
@umtiger
Right you are. I was still tweaking the decklist last night, and the proper decklist as I have it is reflected in the OP. The OP list is what I'm officially playing and it's been a blast. My preferred way to kill people is via a HUGEBiomass Mutation. I know that there are cEDH lists out there that eschew pump effects, but it's really satisfying to rumble through for absurd amounts of combat damage with some of the stupidest creatures in all of MTG.
@MRdown2urth
Ah, I see. Yeah, Tetsuko breaks any stalemates that are in the sky with other opponents who have flying blockers.
Frobidden Orchard has been a very interesting political tool for this deck. It's nice because it generates mana of any color and it creates the illusion for our opponents that we're helping them. I've been able to persuade opponents to protect MY Edric because I've given them cards via these tokens. And since most of our creatures are unblockable or flying, we don't really care about the spirit token that we give away. It's been a very interesting experiment in politics for this deck and I've gotta say that it's pleasantly surprised me with how useful it's been.
@umtiger
Yeah, with Gaea's Cradle over $400 now, a lot of people are locked out of purchasing one for their decks. But I actually find that Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx is just as effective and, more importantly, creates the super precious U for the Time Walks we play. It's not uncommon that there are 4-5 U symbols on your side of the field and it can EASILY snowball into 10+.
The deck is still running smoothly and is still hella annoying to play against, which is precisely the reason that I built it in the first place, so I'm still very pleased with the deck. It's become one of my staples in my deck lineup and I don't regret building it at all.
@NerdSoda
In comparison with the other two drops in the deck, no. I value the other 2 drops more than just a flier with card selection. And there are plenty of Rogue creatures in the deck as is to consistently trigger Notorious Throng
The new Guardian Project looks AWESOME for Edric. Every single creature in Edric cantripping is just too much to ask for. I'll be preordering a copy of this card, make no mistake, since I believe it will be ridiculously powerful in Commander generally and Edric specifically.
The new Winged Salamander is cute and a decent inclusion for the deck. The fact that it can become a 5/5 for U will probably be relevant when the Board gets cleared for the 2nd or 3rd time, but otherwise it's just a 1/1 flyer for U. I'll be picking up a copy of this as well just for the lolz.

I also like the salamander for late game, but I don´t know what "guardian´s plan" is. Could you enlighten us?;)
1 mana cantrips are really good in Constructed, so being able to turn EVERY 1/1 creature in the deck into a cantripping flier is massively awesome. It helps to mitigate the damage of consistent Wrath effects since you can rebuild your hand fairly quickly with the Project.
Now, the biggest question...
What to cut? It's probably going to have to be a counterspell, but I'm loathe to do that because I'm a U mage through and through...
Welcome to the cEDH forums, themakokid! Glad to see you here.
To answer your question, I don't run any recursion cards because I'm trying out a heavier Counterspell/Interaction package currently. I've observed that once the deck really gets going with taking Extra turns, it's really hard to fizzle out. I'm much more concerned about being able to counter early plays or remove problem permanents, particularly since my wife's Kaalia deck is a deck I play against most frequently. I haven't been able to get any substantive games with this deck in months, so I don't really have any hard data to chew on yet.
I'm officially retiring this deck from my roster. It's not fast enough to compete with the Flash Hulk variants in my meta and folds to Kaalia far too often. I'll keep tabs on it occasionally, but it won't be a priority for me.
