^ the only way I can portray the noise of a thousand minotaurs playing the instrument of their people, the humble vuvuzelaDidgeridoo
This is primarily a fun deck for the sake of a tribal and not terribly competitive. I saw Neheb, noticed my spare Didgeridoo and thought the hell with it, why not make a minotaur tribal EDH deck! The plus side is it's delightfully cheap to make. I had a small portion of the cards already, picking up the rest only cost me around £20 plus postage. Obviously a large portion of minotaurs work with Hellbent and Madness due to discard effects, so I've woven a little of both into there. With it being B/R I've got for an aggro shell backed up by a slew of staple control like Go for the Throat, standard all-star Unlicensed Disintegration, and Terminate etc. I've thrown in some card draw, although not as much as I'd like to. Could probably use some recommendations on how to refill my hand without missing out on the use of Hellbent/Heckbent cards like Hazoret the Fervent and Nihilistic Glee.
Seems like a cool deck! Had no idea there were so many minotaur lords. but where is Anaba Shaman????
Thanks for the input!
I actually hadn't thought about Balthor or flashback. I've got a spare Avaricious Dragon knocking around and the Skullcap seems like a sweet choice too. I recently bought an Outpost Siege specifically for this deck but somehow forgot about it. I'm a little apprehensive about Ghirapur Orrery - I played a couple of similar cards in my other EDH decks, and the card advantage for my opponents is a really bad idea in my meta!
Didn't include Anaba Shaman because it seemed a little weak?
Will probably buy a Cover of Darkness in future, and desperately need more midrange creatures. Twinstrike did some serious work, and the deck is bizarrely good at filling the board with early game threats. Overall it's not as broken as some of the decks with engines and combos, but it's great fun to play. Kaervek the Merciless was brilliant with political play, I wiped an opponents board after another player risked playing his spells and dumped 8 mana in a turn.
Planning on swapping in Anaba Ancestor if I can get hold of it, and perhaps a Emberhorn Minotaur.
Can't wait for what minotaurs await in Hour of Devastation.
You need a MAze of Ith! You can't have all of those Minotaurs running around all willy nilly, they need to be in a maze!
i 100% second this opinion. it's true. the maze is a minotaur's natural habitat. without it they will be scared at the unfamiliar world and the stress can kill them, especially during in combat. it's like a pet lizard - you wouldn't put a desert lizard in a water-filled aquarium, would you? it would drown. so don't do it to the minotaurs. if you can get Mystifying Maze that is also acceptable (both is even better). you will be forgiven for not running Dark Maze.
I've been working on my own version for a while now, and Key to the City works very nicely, you can thin your hand quick and easily , it also plays very well with Archfiend of Ifnir and you dont have to draw a card if you want to stay hell bent. Ghirapur Orrery was ok I felt, but that's probably because I didn't actually get the draw off of it as much as I wanted.
Edited original list to include some commander protection and man rocks. Ordered a playset of every common and uncommon from Ixalan so I'll probably throw in some of the new control cards. Also added list of cards I want to buy to improve the deck (mainly dual lands).

Also flashback goes well with Hellbent, so maybe Devil's Play?
If you want to stay hellbent while drawing cards, stuff like Grafted Skullcap, Ghirapur Orrery and Avaricious Dragon can be good. There's also Outpost Siege and Chandra, Pyromaster as impulse-draw engines
Seems like a cool deck! Had no idea there were so many minotaur lords. but where is Anaba Shaman????

some other thoughts:
- Skullclamp (reasons are obvious)
- Cover of Darkness seems solid
- maybe the artifact omni-lords like Metallic Mimic and Adaptive Automaton? I never liked them for flavor, but more lords is always good
- Urza's Incubator is good ramp, and makes a lot of minotaurs free if you get it with Ragemonger

- Fling
- Warchanter of Mogis
- Avacyn's Judgment
- Alchemist's Greeting
