Cool - I look forward to see where your list ends. It would be great with some more cycling goodies in the next set, but I already have a hard time cutting stuff
I've been considering 5-c aswell, also mainly becuase of The Gitrog Monster. Such a great effect with land-cyclers, and I'd really wish I could run him with Hazezon. Your idea with Reaper though seems really fun, and i guess it could be quite opressive.
Havn't thought of Containment Priest, it does seems pretty epic in fact to blink creatures with her on the battlefield.

Yeah, lol. Containment Priest could be a great nuisance. You could even protect your own things from her effect by blinking her out first, and then have the other creatures blink in before her at end of turn.

A reason for the omission of New Perspectives? I know, expensive, but another way to go off?
I have considered it. Although expensive to cast, it does at least give me 3 cards when entering the battlefield. I'll probably cut out a cycling creature for it.

I enjoyed running Life from the Loam in my cycle.dec when I built one. It's a solid card draw engine, especially when you manage to get a cycle enabler (like Fluctuator) in play. Just Loam yo three cycle lands, cycle them and Dredge the last one to get back Loam also the value with Gitrog!

I would reconsider Shadow of the Grave. It's synergistic with your strategy and wheel effects are pretty common.
Yeah, I'm gonna definitely have to find a slot for those. The synergy with Life from the Loam and cycling lands is too great to ignore. Shadow of the Grave is another card I need to be running.

For those interested, here's my 5-color take on cycling. It revolves around the idea I was already playing with which is a cycling deck where only lands are being cycled. In order to take full advantage of it, the lands aren't merely here for cycling. So I added lands that bounce other lands (the lairs and double mana bounce lands) in order to play the cycling lands early on and then bounce them in order to cycle them later on. Thus, the deck also has a heavy landfall theme, as well. Playing lands from the graveyard and bouncing them later on provides for a lot of land interactions. Here's what I'm tinkering with so far:
The deck has a couple of wincons such as a Splendid Reclamation + Prismatic Omen + Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle win. Valakut on its own does nothing but Splendid Reclamation and Prismatic Omen are still good on their own outside of the combo. Most of the landfall effects are for producing creature tokens or outright hurting opponents. I have some ways to take advantage of the card draw as well. Goldfishing so far the deck has been super fun to play. I haven't been able to test it out per sé being as Hour of Devastation hasn't been released yet and is thus not active in Cockatrice.
In any other setting the Soratami wouldn't be such good cards but here they're great. Granted, there're 15 lands that bounce other lands so maybe it may feel that I'm bouncing too many lands. However, I run every single card that allows me to drop more than 1 land. I also have cards that literally have me dropping lands from my hand. I also have Crucible of Worlds and Ramunap Excavator. So it's about as lands.dec as it gets.
The token doublers are there because the main point of the deck is to use lands to an advantage. It starts off slow but having a Reaper King in the command zone doesn't really tell opponents what the deck is all about until it starts playing. Although it starts off slow, I do have ways of slowing it down for opponents as well with cards like Overburden, Mana Breach, and Storm Cauldron. These help me more than they hurt me while hurting opponents more than it hurts them. I also run Xenograft and Conspiracy to make sure those tokens are scarecrows and make the game easier for me once I hit the midgame.
Again, I'm liking this version of what I want to do. I have some cards I'm considering but I would also like some feedback on this version, as well. The jank is something I can do without, so there are cards I could live without. I could also possibly run a different commander for it. However, it's relatively cheap to assemble since the mana base isn't expensive.

This was a helpful read for my Zur Astral Slide deck. Is Wharf Infiltrator worth a consideration? I just see it as more ways to trigger discards to my Faith of the Devoted and Drake Haven plus 3/2s are sizeable blockers and attackers. I'm just not entirely sold because unlike Drakes with Flying Evasion, he can't quite get the job done. Would Spirit Cairn be better for the defensive minded?
One thing I discovered today as an absurd interaction is Palace Jailer with Astral Slide. The Jailer makes you the monarch when it ETBs but also Exiles a Creature until you lose Monarchy. This means that if you Slide the Jailer out each turn, you're Exiling new Creatures and the old ones aren't coming back until somebody hits you. Considering how defensive Astral Slide makes you, it is quite possible to get Monarchy and proceed to eat everybody's board while it provides you with extra card draw.

I'm glad this able to help you out in some way!
I don't include Wharf Infiltrator because, upon reading it carefully, it only triggers when you discard a creature card; I'm only cycling land cards, so it's not really helpful (to me, at least). Although, along that vein, Spirit Cairn is, because it doesn't care what or how you discard a card. However, it's harder to activate than Drake Haven and the tokens are weaker, too. So I'm on the fence about it.
Flickering Palace Jailer is always a great thing (especially with Deadeye Navigator). Fortunately, it's even better than you think. Remember that when flickering something, it returns as a different instance of that card. So the moment you flicker Palace Jailer, any creatures it exiled as its previous instances, will not return to the player - only the current instance. So keep that in mind when your exiling creatures away to your heart's delight .. Hm, although, come to think of it, I don't know if that delayed trigger is dependent on Palace Jailer of the monarch per sé... So I'm probably wrong and you're right on that.

WHAAAT?!
That's absurd! I'm going to have to research that. Though it would make sense power scale-wise as the only Monarch card that gets Vintage/Legacy play (I can't remember which format exactly.

Unlike every other Oblivion Ring effect in the game, it is not the card that remembers but the game. So, it is possible to Exile all of the Creatures, not have Palace Jailer in play but they'll all remember to come back when Monarch goes to an opponent.
In theory, if you're playing a team game and you're eliminated as Monarch and the next player is not an opponent, the Creatures Exiled would stay so until an Opponent becomes the Monarch which is just a delightful weird fringe ruling.

I concur; that is most likely what happens. Still, it's good to know that the exile clause is not like Banisher Priest. Meaning that as long as you're the monarch those exiled creatures won't return even if Palace Jailer leaves.

I am currently working on a similar list. I am currently not as involved in the re-animator style with this deck thus I threw out Living Death and it's family. I am still working on it and am looking into Delirium Threshold and Spell mastery mechanics as with this deck those types of cards will throttle up quickly. The decklist for those curious will be here: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/tasteful-trash/

It seems like you're trying to abusing etb abilities with Astral Slide. I'm also abandoning the creature cycling route and am probably gonna go 5 colors in order to add every land with cycling but I'm still on the fence on it.

Is it consistent? Have you tested it much?
Consistent? Yes so far...It has a bit more interaction rather than the cycle creatures I have some more spells so I can usually influence the game a bit more than just sitting down and playing solitaire and hoping no one finds my draws threatening and decides to board wipe. This can sometimes mean that I don't have a hand full of cycling every turn due to the advantage you have with oversold cemetery affects. Also didn't mean to but discovered it can go infinite in testing which is why lab maniac is in there.
In my meta I can mostly just rely on creatures as blockers rather than trying to win with reanimating them in one swell foop. So the alternate win condition maniac provides is excellent.
Yeah, I've been tinkering around with those cards you guys have been suggesting (Trade Routes and Faith of the Devoted) but with the Reaper King version of the deck. I've actually been devoting more time to fine-tuning that version than the 4-colored version. A 5-colored version allows me to add each cycling land (the only one I'm not included is Ash Barrens because I'm not running any basics) so I figured that's the best way to go. I'm also adding tons of land hijinxes like Excavation, Trade Routes, Splendid Reclamation, Sunder, etc. Once the engine gets going, I can go off in a single turn with lots of blowout plays (which are pretty much guaranteed due to running Conqueror's Flail). I also swapped out Reaper King for Progenitus, which is a wincon in and of itself. Here's the edited 5-colored deck list:

Thanks for turning me onto the synergy this partnership has with cycling. I'm fan of both Kydele and Ravos's art, so I'm glad to have a reason to use them. Here is the list I came up with. I'm close to putting it together in paper; mainly I just need to buy some more sleeves.
It's intended to be a fairly casual deck that can win through an elaborate combo on occasion. We'll see how it works out at the table.

and I'm also considering a Razaketh, the Foulblooded + Bloodghast combo (I'm probably gonna build a Razaketh monoB combo deck anyways so it'll probably go in there). Since I'm bouncing and playing around with so many lands, it may be difficult to play some heavier spells earlier on, so I'm considering adding either mana rocks or mana dorks to alleviate the situation a bit. Anywho, here are some cards I could probably live without:
Archfiend of Ifnir
Retreat to Hagra
the Prismatic Omen + Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle combo
Xenograft / Conspiracy and use a different commander.

There're many amazing interactions and synergy with the deck. You can kill opponents by dropping lands into play (and hurting them via Ob Nixilis, the Fallen and Retreat to Hagra), bouncing those lands back to your hand to then discard to something like Seismic Assault and then recover everything with Shadow of the Grave to do it all over again. You can then cast Praetor's Counsel to recover all those lands and do it again. Then cast Creeping Renaissance to recover all lands and do it a third time. Then cast Splendid Reclamation and get them all back to play and hurt them with Ob Nixilis, the Fallen and Retreat to Hagra. A full hand and New Perspectives in play means that you can dig through pretty much your entire deck thanks to the cycling lands. Alhammarret's Archive and The Gitrog Monster help you dig through even more of the deck with each cycled land. You can also hurt opponents while cycling with Faith of the Devoted. And that's just by pain. You can also win by drawing your entire deck with Laboratory Maniac in play (very viable and consistent thanks to The Gitrog Monster), win by Maze's End, or by Progenitus, which is a nice clock.

It's intended to be a fairly casual deck that can win through an elaborate combo on occasion. We'll see how it works out at the table.
