I do want to fit Mystical Tutor in just so I have a second Chord of Calling; I think maybe over Whirler Rogue? I'll test it.
I don't really need creature removal very often, and if I do need it, I can normally tutor Llawan and she does the trick (my meta is like half Zur now, lol)
As for Dominaria and Battlebond, those sets were duds for this deck. I did consider Saproling Migration, but it's worse than every other card in the deck.
I've tried Panharmonicon, I think it's still to slow. Any fast mana you get early you'd want to dump into Ezuri to start getting counters. If you play this after Ezuri, it would probably take a turn's worth of mana, and for 4 you can probably drop 2-3 creatures anyways, getting you 3-4 experience counters. It would be good in a longer game where you end up just beating face with 19/19 mana dorks, but if it resolves it's almost always a prime target for removal. With the combo going off at 5 counters, I don't think its worth it. If you have a more casual build/play group, you could probably put it in for fun.
Looking to test Runic Armasaur in the Whirler Rogue slot. With the number of fetches etc that people run, it could draw multiple cards per turn cycle. Also highly disappointed we have to wait until Ravnica Allegiance for Simic.
Can anyone tell me if the whether the deck is still reasonably competitive without the expensive mana rocks and $50+ plus cards like Earthcraft? Especially considering very few people in my meta has access to those types of cards. I'm seriously considering buying the tutors as that and the super expensive cards are all that I'm missing.
I built this deck about a year ago, and started off with no cards over 25$. It still works, but you'll lose consistency/explosiveness. I have recently just bought a Earthcraft and added in the combos for it, but I did play it for about a year with out it. I even managed to take some games of other competitive decks. If your play group is casual, you can certainly do well with the cuts, and in my experience the deck was almost too strong for casual game play even without the expensive stuff. It can still combo off turn 5-6 pretty well. I'm adding in the more expensive pieces slowly. You can run a budget land base, mana rocks, and counterspell package to keep the deck price reasonable.
I recently went to the Baltimore open series, and purchased a lot of cards for this deck. But before I purchase the 5 remaining cards. Has there been any changes to the deck at all??

Master of Waves seems like it could fill the spot of Whirler Rogue. It loses the unblockable part, but could sometimes create 3+ tokens. Also easier to cast, and bonus pro-red!
Pro red is irrelevant, but easier to cast is nice. The problem is it is not always going to be 4+ creatures, so I feel like it's not going to reliably be worth it. If I really wanted 3 creatures for 4 mana with a bit of other relevant text, I'd be playing Eyeless Watcher; Rogue was in for the cheese-em backup plan with Viridian Corrupter. The new Beast Whisperer from Guilds of Ravnica is going in in Rogue's place. It's the kind of constant card advantage the deck needs.
Beside Beast Whisper in place of Whirler Rogue
Have you thought of any cards to replace Nissa, Voice of Zendikar, Bloom Tender, Simic Signet , & Coiling Oracle??
No video. No replacements yet either; I imagine RNA will yield multiple cards for this deck. Then again, only one card from GTC is still in the deck, so I might be overly hopeful lol
(1/18)
-Elvish Spirit Guide - I didn't need this to be explosive.
-Lumbering Falls - ETB tapped.
-Temple of Mystery - ETB tapped.
+Mox Diamond - My turn 0 mana should stick around.
+Opposition - Locks opponents out to buy time
+Island - More moon effects have been showing up, and I need these for Earthcraft.

Snake was clunky and easy to read, and bad in my opening 7's. Manglehorn gives me a bit more tempo and can help stop weird eggs business.

Also, any worthy inclusions from RIX or Dominaria?

Llawan is doing wonders as well, especially since my meta is blue and counter heavy. Any cards you can recommend for this kind of meta?

Any good results from your play testing with Chrome Mox?
Do you think any cards from Dominaria or Battlebond might make it in?
Merfolk Trickster, Saproling Migration, Spore Swarm, Spellseeker are cards I think I might try.
The Mystical Tutor (it only fetched Mana Drain and Chord of Calling) was fine, but I've been trying Mystic Remora recently and it's been better. Chrome Mox was alright; it's been in and out, not sure if it or Bloom Tender will be staying.
