Infinite Casting Triggers
1. Peregrine Drake/Great Whale/Palinchron + Peregrine Drake/Great Whale/Palinchron + Cloudstone Curio
Example: With Cloudstone Curio on the battlefield, play Peregrine Drake. As Drake is essentially free, you are now able to play Great Whale, which is also untaps lands, and return Drake to your hand. You can bounce these cards infinitely to get infinite casting triggers.
2. Infinite Mana/Omniscience + Stonecloaker/Æther Adept/Venser, Shaper Savant
Example: You can use either Infinite Mana or Omniscience to cast Æther Adept and bounce itself back to your hand over and over.
Infinite Mana
1. Paradox Engine + Mana Rocks + Stonecloaker/Æther Adept/Venser, Shaper Savant
Example: With Paradox Engine and enough Mana Rocks in play, cast Stonecloaker. Stonecloaker triggers engine, causing your rocks to untap. You are then free to recast Stonecloaker and repeat the process.
2. Eldrazi Displacer/Deadeye Navigator + Peregrine Drake/Great Whale/Palinchron
Example: Deadeye Navigator bounces Palinchron, costing only two mana while untapping seven lands.
Note, that three of your lands must produce colorless mana to use Displacer in this combo.
Aetherize
1. Infinite Casting Triggers + Aetherflux Reservoir
Example: Fairly self-explanitory. Infinite Casting Triggers nets you infinite life and lets you kill the board.
2. Eldrazi Displacer/Deadeye Navigator + Eldrazi Displacer/Deadeye Navigator + Angelic Chorus + Aetherflux Reservoir
Example: Remember that infinite mana combo? Bouncing wont give us casting triggers, but we can throw in Angelic Chorus to give us infinite life and win the game anyway.
Mill Opponents
Infinite ETB Triggers + Altar of the Brood
Example: Where's the Infinite ETB Trigger explanation? These combos are all mentioned in the previous sections and I didn't want to be redundant or make this section more convoluted then necessary. Any combo that causes a creature to enter the battlefield over and over will trigger Altar of the Brood and let you mill everyone.
Obliterate the Board
1. Eerie Interlude/Ghostway/Venser, the Sojourner + World Purge
Example: Bounce all your creatures with Ghostway until the end of turn, then return all of your opponent's permanents to their hands with World Purge.
2. Infinite Mana + Eldrazi Displacer/Deadeye Navigator + Venser, Shaper Savant
Example: After achieving infinite mana, use Eldrazi Displacer to bounce Venser, Shaper Savant infinitely and return all your opponent's permanents to their hands.
Mill Yourself/Play your Deck
1. Infinite Mana + Eldrazi Displacer/Deadeye Navigator + Cloud Blazer/Muldrifter + Laboratory Maniac
Example: After achieving infinite mana, use Eldrazi Displacer to bounce Cloud Blazer until you draw Laboratory Maniac. Then, after playing Laboratory Maniac, draw the rest of your deck.
2. Infinite Casting Triggers + Mind's Desire + Laboratory Maniac
Example: This time we use casting triggers to up our storm count and draw our deck with Mind's Desire.
Interesting build! This is for more semi competitive I'm guessing? Well, even for semi conpetitive, here are some cards to consider and the reasoning behind them:
whispersilk cloak-Ideally Brago has to survive and deliver hits to make the deck function optimally. I have been playing Brago a long long long time, so I know he is often killed, locked down, etc, so having protection in the form of equipment that not only protects him but gives free hits is amazing.
stoneforge mystic-She finds lightning greves, swiftfoot boots, whispersilk cloak, and she can slip any of them into play uncounterably, and she is repeatable with Brago, simply amazing
Mystical tutor or enlightened tutor- These jewels find a host of any of the powerhouses like cyclonic rift, treachery, auras, you name it.
strionic resonator-Unless you are strictly anti-combo or your playgroup is, this card is amazing, doubling etb triggers and the legendary 2 mana producing rock for infinite Brago triggers!
Parallax wave and parallax tide- Both of these cards are undeniably powerful in Brago, Repeatable removal OR save your guys from removal is stellar. Parallax tide is a better version of perengrine drake, as it can accelerate you or eat enemy lands.
stupefying touch- Cantrips, cmc 2, shuts off pesky generals and creatures. Innocuous yet precious.
trinket mage- He tutors up sol ring and the mighty pithing needle (which is another great cheap way to lock down a pesky card and can be reset with Brago.
reality acid-Paired with Brago it is brutal, paired with Brago and stronic resonator plus the aforementioned 2 mana producing rock is GG.
strionic resonator and any rock that taps for 2 is infinite blinks.
Then throw reality acid or spine of ish sah into the mix and you're the only one left with any toys.
I'd cut the drogskol reaver for a mulldrifter. You'll get far better milage out of it
I personally think you should be running a ton more Etb effects to actually utilise brago
Resonator is really good and I enjoy combo, but I wanted this deck to play differently than my Sharuum deck. It may end up going in. I think it will be one of those cards that I will add after a lot more play testing. Once I have a better feeling of the deck then I can be like "Oh, yeah Resonator would have been good here," and see how often I'm wanting it.
I have definitely been wanting to add mulldrifter, and Drogskol seems like the most natural cut. It's mainly there to fuel aetherflux and provide a little damage. It's one of those things where I'm like "yeah, it's not amazing," but a good life gain card is most often an oxymoron. I hate playing 7 mana creatures that don't do anything by themselves though; I'll have to see how terrible it is.
I will need to find room for reality acid for sure.
@ Elminster: You are correct , my decks are not very competitive.
I just like building decks that do different things. Ideal game length for me is around 30-45min.
Parallax wave and parallax tide- Both of these cards are undeniably powerful in Brago, Repeatable removal OR save your guys from removal is stellar. Parallax tide is a better version of perengrine drake, as it can accelerate you or eat enemy lands.
I like a lot of you suggestions as well, especially this one.
Drake is out for tide for sure. I will try to find room for wave while I'm at it.
Have been play testing and made a bunch of changes.
Cards that have stood out? Parallax Wave and Oath of Jace have been champs.
I didn't like Reality Acid. It's great value when you have access to your general, but was less than stellar against groups that are playing heavy removal/control.
If I was playing more counter I might run it.
Also, I noticed that I was having a hard time closing after establishing a strong board presence so I added some more draw and a few beaters.
I could add combo or stronger locks, but I wanted to a different direction with this particular deck.
Looking Outstanding! Closing games with Brago without Strionic Resonator or archaeomancer+time warp is slow but manageable. If this is the case, using something that generates tokens repeatedly like Elspeth, Sun's Champion is wonderful. Planeswalkers are hard to interact with, and in this case Elspeth generates 3 tokens, can be blinked for even more, and her ultimate boosts all your creatures and grants them evasion. She is also another wrath effect if need be. Venser, the Sojourner is also stellar because he has an ability that makes all your creatures unblockable, which helps close games quickly.
I recently for the fun of it revamped Brago. I have played many versions before, but this one is more unique to me, so I wanted to share what I added etc. As of now I have added 3 elements I was trying to play before, but other iterations of Brago that had been hyper focused, however, I changed that to add all 3 elements of lockdown potential, infinite combos and board control through value. I always had karmic guide, reveillark and body double, so I figured I might as well add altar of dementia as the final combo piece. Since I am playing deadeye navigator I decided to add peregrine drake back into the deck with the final addition of blue sun's zenith for another combo finisher, and of course the well know stronic resonator, 2 mana rock and reality acid combo. I also used to play the whole Staxx engine, but found out I can achieve a seemingly identical boardstate without all the Staxx pieces. How? I added brine elemental and vesuvan shapeshifter which combined create a Stasis lock, but only for your opponents, and it only requires two cards too create the lock instead of all the Staxx components that were typically required, AND the cards are good on their own which is a huge advantage. Lastly, the element of board control through typical value Brago cards like Parallax cards, the new Panharmonicon, plenty of O-Ring effects (especially the ones that can slip onto hexproof generals like Narset/Geist)is essential. Adding stoneforge mystic has helped me so much to get to lightning greaves and whispersilk cloak and slip them into play uncounterably, and the fact she is repeatable is powerful. Filtering with cheap permanents that cantrip like oath of jace, mystic remora, spreading seas are always a huge boon early to rip through the deck and offer disruption. It is in my metagame still important to play countermagic, so I still have to respect that and play Force of Will alongside generic counterspell, swan song, negate and Glen Elendra Archmage. After playing multiple games with this new version I found I love that I was able to squeeze in all the disruption, lock and combos. I have to admit having access to multiple combo wins helped tremendously in closing games at any given moment, since Brago in general is rather durdly, and relying on one combo win was too fragile. Lastly I am going to squeeze in a Time Warp for the time magic combo with archaeomancer as another win con. So, this is what's been going on with Brago on this side of the World lol.
That lock combo is pretty cool. I actually broke down and added some combo myself.
I'm unable to update the deck right now, but I'll post the key pieces.
I was also thinking of putting drake back in to go infinite with Eldrazi Displacer, and maybe Rings of Brighthearth/Basalt Monolith/Grim Monolith.
Then I might add some generic Sharuum stuff that kills everything with ETB.
It's very similar to my sharuum deck, but different enough that I think I would enjoy playing it.
The card aerherflux reservoir and paradox engine is sick good lol! Thinking of Paradox engine, you could also have an isochron scepter with boomerang and a mana rock that produces 2 mana on it and bounce every permanent on the table back to their owner's hands since paradox engine will automatically untap isochron scepter and the mana rocks AND since the imprinted spell is count as cast, hence untapping isochron scpeter infinitely.
Yeah, it had occurred to me that capsize might also work, albeit a little more rock intensive. Isochron is a pretty cool way to do it, and might be easier to assemble.
Edit: Updated deck and combo section with explanations.
Plea is cool but 6 mana is a lot though in competitive and being sorcery speed is not the best thing. Omniscience, is a great card so I am thinking do you also play academy rector? Duplicant is pretty sweet as he exiles and can nab Iona if need be, same with spine. I find more and more oath of jace to be utterly fantastic in Brago, as the filter it provides is pure gold. I play oath and mystic remora as both are awesome with Brago in order to draw as many cards as possible. The cheap ETB cantrip cards like spreading seas, stupefying touch that also offer a little disruption are equally valuable. I don't know how you feel about it but in hyper competitive games pithing needle is also stellar and can be easily tutored up by our main star trinket mage. I had some games this weekend with Brago against a fairly powerful table of maelstron wanderer, derevi, ezuri and Brago just performed so very excellently. The combo wins can come out of nowhere, which is huge. My latest addition of stoneforge mystic was epic amounts of magical goodness. Also on a side note, I don't know how many mana rocks you play but play A LOT. I stress this point many times to other Brago players, because not only is speed power in edh but also Brago untaps mana rocks which is just awesomeness incarnate.
Plea is there because it draws me Omniscience and Future Sight. I'm not really a fan of Academy Rector because it has to die. Unless you're playing sac outlets, you're opponents are going to know what's coming and have lots of time to prepare. Plea is 5 mana but you untap rocks with Brago and Paradox Engine. Worst case scenario you cast Omniscience the next turn, whereas with Rector it might be several turns only to get countered.
Mystic Remora and Pithing Needle are good cards, but they always end up getting cut from my decks as they become more streamlined. It's worth noting that we already have Reflector Mage and Alhammarret, High Arbiter, which are bouncable.
My mana rock count is not ideal at 7, but I also play Drake and Treachery. I had added artifact lands thinking "Hey, Paradox untaps artifacts," forgetting that they still get hit with it's "nonland" clause.

If combo should die before I wake I'll slide a Smokestack in every deck I play, roll in every shop wreck the Spirit of EDH.
I might have missed this being mentioned in a previous reply, but if you are going to run Thespian's Stage, why not go ahead and run Dark Depths too? Just gives you another win condition with Marit Lage when you use Thespian's Stage to make a copy of Dark Depths since the copy will come in play without the tokens, and then you just sack both of them for the token.
Depths is cool, but it doesn't produce mana.
I'm already running 36 lands, so it's not like I could just cut a land for it.
Then it's between a vanilla 20/20 beater and an answer, which makes it hard to squeeze in.

Oath of Jace/Mystic Remora seem much stronger than High Arbiter honestly. HArbiter is a 7 drop and susceptible to easy removal but Oath/Remora are cheap and hard to remove. Low cmc really metters, and in this case I believe Oath and MRemora are much stronger than Arbiter.
On Omniscience: I know it is a great card, but I am looking at it in context to Brago. Since you are not playing Enter the Infinitelab maniac or some random Eldrazi titan, I do not see the upside of playing Omniscience. Yes it allows free casts, but it costs ALOT and is a dead draw in the first 7 turns easily, and since you can't cheat it into play, to me it seems rather mediocre.
Recently, I had considered vendilion clique as she is low in cmc at three, has flash and can be used repeatedly as a way to either filter away unwanted cards or disrupt the opponent.
Why Aetherflux Reservoir? Do you cast enough spells to make it ever relevant? I can't see a way to loop spells or go off, just curious.
I really like the Rishadan creatures with Brago + Strionic Resonator. ie, rishadan cutpurse
Despite its incredibly high cost, do you find Alhammarret, High Arbiter worth blinking at many tables besides a way to strip opponents of removal/wincons?

I don't see how you can really compare them; they do completely different things.
Arbiter lets me see everyone's hand and pithing needle every turn. Oath of Jace is already in the deck. I like Remora as a card, but I'd rather play Mul Drifter or Cloudblazer because they can draw my deck with infinite mana.
On Omniscience: I know it is a great card, but I am looking at it in context to Brago. Since you are not playing Enter the Infinite lab maniac or some random Eldrazi titan, I do not see the upside of playing Omniscience.
You have to look at Omniscience in the context of a combo card. (I updated the combo section to include it btw). It is going to be just as dead as Altar of the Brood or Atherflux until I have the right pieces in my hand, then I win the game
Recently, I had considered vendilion clique as she is low in cmc at three, has flash and can be used repeatedly as a way to either filter away unwanted cards or disrupt the opponent.
I had Clique in the original version of the list but I disliked how it drew my opponent a card. In a 100 card format like commander where people are playing so many broken cards, I feel like its kind of a crapshoot because I might draw them something even worse than the card I eliminated.
Why Aetherflux Reservoir? Do you cast enough spells to make it ever relevant? I can't see a way to loop spells or go off, just curious.
There are a few cards that let me grind to Reservoir, but it has become more of a combo piece. The idea is to get infinite mana then bounce creatures that return themselves to your hand an infinite number of times. This triggers Reservoir, gaining you infinite life, and let's you kill the table. It hasn't been very consistent, but I just added a bunch of cards which I hope will make it more so.
I really like the Rishadan creatures with Brago + Strionic Resonator. ie, rishadan cutpurse
Several people have mentioned this combo to me and I may eventually replace World Purge with Resonator. I have this crippling condition where I'm obsessed with doing things differently and trying to win the game with janky cards that no one else plays. Sometimes it doesn't work out, but sometimes I come up with strategies that I wouldn't have otherwise.
Despite its incredibly high cost, do you find Alhammarret, High Arbiter worth blinking at many tables besides a way to strip opponents of removal/wincons?
Arbiter is a really fun card. It obviouslly isn't something you'd stick in a a higher tier deck, but I've been pretty happy with it. It is more of stall than a solution obviously, but it is a political card and can paint a huge target on one of your opponents. It airs everyone's dirty laundry out in the open. People will even protect it for you if you block something they really don't want played.
I like FoF sphinx a lot; I play it in my janky Sharuum deck. It might be a better addition than Arbiter, but I've been pretty satisfied with Arbiter so far. This may change as the deck continues to evolve.
Good assessment on cards and reasoning. I forgot Oath was already in the deck. I can see your point about vendy clique, I never tried it before but allowing the opponent to draw is....yeah lol. Well, I think your deck is well rounded, I think I have pretty much made all the suggestions I can at this juncture. I tried manifest cards, Staxx, and value. I think the best options are the Parallax cards, brine elemental+vesuvan shapeshifter and strionic resonator. Other choices are meta dependent. I can say that my recent addition of stoneforge mystic is doing an outstanding job. The little lock guys as well, they can be quite powerful. I did play the rishadan guys and recruiter of the guard to tutor them up, however I think they are best in the Staxx version of Brago as they fit perfectly.
Huge overhaul. The deck is much closer to where I want it to be now.
Wasn't feeling Brighthearth combo. I cut it for Cloudstone and added Palinchron and Whale.
These cards are dead a much smaller percentage of the time, and make the deck far more consistent.
I also added Mind's Desire and Laboratory Maniac as win conditions.
Maniac had actually been in the deck; I'm not sure why it wasn't on the list.
There were also misc draw and tutor substitutions.
One of my favorite additions is Mirror Mockery, for it's versatility.
Combo section has been simplified and updated.

Deck Name: TESSERACT
Infinite Casting Triggers
1. Peregrine Drake/Great Whale/Palinchron + Peregrine Drake/Great Whale/Palinchron + Cloudstone Curio
Example: With Cloudstone Curio on the battlefield, play Peregrine Drake. As Drake is essentially free, you are now able to play Great Whale, which is also untaps lands, and return Drake to your hand. You can bounce these cards infinitely to get infinite casting triggers.

I was also thinking of putting drake back in to go infinite with Eldrazi Displacer, and maybe Rings of Brighthearth/Basalt Monolith/Grim Monolith.

Since you are not playing Enter the Infinite lab maniac or some random Eldrazi titan, I do not see the upside of playing Omniscience.

You have to look at Omniscience in the context of a combo card. (I updated the combo section to include it btw). It is going to be just as dead as Altar of the Brood or Atherflux until I have the right pieces in my hand, then I win the game
I had Clique in the original version of the list but I disliked how it drew my opponent a card. In a 100 card format like commander where people are playing so many broken cards, I feel like its kind of a crapshoot because I might draw them something even worse than the card I eliminated.

A+ answer, I agree.
Also Oblivion Ring has more utility than Stasis Snare.
And Mind's Desire doesn't really result in consistent plays unless you get your infinite cycles with Ancestral Statue/Stonecloaker

Stasis snare is mainly there because it has flash. There are a whole bunch of ways to go infinite now with Mind's Desire.
