Also looking for room for War Cadence. Any suggestions, or is Cadence too cute?
Personally, I think it is. I play Break Through the Line in my Kari deck.
It's awesome with Grenzo, Hanweir Garrison, Marton, etc.
Break Through The Line definitely helps a bunch of different situations, though I like that War Cadence can allow for alpha strikes with a decent board by simply overloading it.

You don't call "dying to removal" if the removal is more expensive in resources than the creature. If you have to spend BG (Abrupt Decay), or W + basic land (PtE) to remove a 1G, that is not "dying to removal". Strictly speaking Goyf dies to removal, but actually your removal is dying to Goyf.
Shinka, the Bloodsoaked Keep can give the monkey token first strike. This will only matter in the rare corner case, but the land enters the battlefield untapped and makes colored mana so it's pretty free to run. And speaking of utility lands, Ash Barrens looks pretty odd in a mono-colored deck. How about any of

So I am testing Hero's Blade. The humor in it is great, plus it makes Marton Stromgald and Grenzo a tad more threatening, and makes Ragavan a legit threat.

While I set up a board, Mayael tries to go balls to the wall, setting up Urabrask and Blightsteel drops. Karador promptly nopes the board out of existence, but leaves mana rocks intact. I land a Flameshadow Conjuring, which draws no attention. Mayael goes straight revenge route and manages to get a kill on the goatlord. Rafiq and I simply exchange glances. I then land Combustible Gearhulk, and conjured a second one. Mayael decides to let all six cards rip at him with only 16 life. Akroma, Angel of Fury and Conquering Manticore, along with a land deal a tidy 14 damage. Next three are land, land, and Chandra, Pyromaster for the kill.
Rafiq finally reveals that he is based around Exalted triggers, and lands a Sublime Archangel. But a flashbacked Faithless Looting draws me into Cold Storage, and I manage to steal and deep freeze his dude. He goes into dig mode to find an answer (revealing later that his hand was all creatures and swords of x and y). In the meantime, Kari descends from on high with a Hero's Blade, and Cold Storage breaks to bring Sublime Archangel along. Seeing the board and no answers, Rafiq calls it good.
Round 2 versus the infamous Max Essig, and two other players. It didn't matter what they were playing. Max killed us all on Turn 5 with Mike & Trike off of combo deck #28. I took 2nd by virtue of actually dealing damage to Max before we all died.
So not a bad performance. Flameshadow Conjuring does impressive work, but the deck is rarely going to be a front runner, and cannot sustain that position if forced into it.

Here's why.
Kher Keep might definitely be a good choice, as would High Market.
"I hope to have such a death... lying in triumph atop the broken bodies of those who slew me..."
I admit. I laughed. Hard.
