I do think it is a good card, and it will likely perform reasonably well; I just think there are a fair bit more than 99 cards that are better for Titania. Though it would go up in value if you run a decent number of expensive creatures.
I finally picked up a City of Traitors, but where do I slot it in? I don't want to cut any basic forests because I think I'm already on the low side there. I don't necessarily need to a cut a land for it either. I'm currently at 42 and 43 doesn't seem unreasonable. I'm considering Mosswort Bridge or Dark Depths to fit in City. Mosswort is hit or miss and I rarely get a Marit Lage onto the battlefield.
Also, do any of you run Field of Ruin? Or is Ghost Quarter, Tec Edge, Dust Bowl, Wasteland, Strip Mine good enough?
The land destruction I'm running is probably plenty, I guess I just wanted to hear if anyone had any success with Field of Ruin. I kind of forgot about the card.
Speaking of land destruction, Ghost Quarter is a potential cut for City too. Ghost Quarter is the worst of those type of effect.
I feel like one of your GG producing lands could go instead. They come into play tapped, which is really annoying.
If not, I've always found Drownyard Temple really underwhelming. It just costs too much to renimate only one land that only makes colourless and can't sac itself.
I use ghost quarter on myself quite often to get two elementals from titania and/or fill up my graveyard with lands. It hoses nonbasics just fine as well.
I never thought about Drownyard Temple, but you’re right. I’ve probably only activated it a couple of times and it’s never been all that important. It was just something to do with extra mana. I always just kind of assumed the land belonged in the deck because it wants to go to the graveyard, but in practice its ability is rarely relevant.
I’ll start to pay more attention to how much I get bit by the GG lands coming in to play tapped too. I could always fill those slots with more forests or even some of the panoramas.
Seems like it would generate a ton of plants for us (might encourage synergy for people running Avenger of Zendikar). Bonus points with Dredge from Life from the Loam.
The activated ability seems expensive just to put the land back into your hand, but recurring lands is always good in this deck.
Overall it seems difficult to use, but might have a wider variety of uses that make it worth playing. What do you think?
It can certainly make a lot of plants. But for my deck at least, I don't really have anything to do with 0/1s outside of making Hoofy's overrun even larger, and that's something I very rarely need. As for the recursion side, getting one land to hand is pretty minor. While it is reuseable, most of the time, just running an extra regrowth effect for more flexible recursion or even just an extra tutor to get Ramunap Excavator seems more worthwhile to me.
For a "lands matter" deck, the Jund precon seems to be pretty poor for us. There's not even really any decent reprints (e.g. Life From the Loam would fit perfectly and could do with having its price dropped a bit).
On another note, I had a rather amusing game over the weekend. One of my opponents was playing Omnath, Locus of Rage and, quite reasonably, felt that adding card draw to his tokens would be a good idea. So he played Kavu Lair. He...never actually got to draw a single card off of it, as another Elemental Bond sent my deck into overdrive....
I was also very disappointed in the lack of interesting cards/reprints in this Commander series in general. "Lands Matter" seemed like it should have given us at least something interesting...
Actually I've just remembered there is one card that I wanted to bring up - Myth Unbound. When you combine this with Titania ramping on ETB, you can basically ignore commander tax, plus it's some extra card draw. I don't think it quite fits into how I want to play her, but if you're looking to run a slower, more attritional deck with Titania, something she is pretty good at doing, then it could be worth a slot.
It's in my deck, as it looks like it should be a strong card, but I haven't drawn at a relevant point in the game in in the 3 games I've played since I put it in there.
Scavenger Grounds is a pretty good one to have. Easily fetchable and can exile graveyards repeatably. It does exile your own graveyard, but it may be a necessary evil when you just can't win through fogs.
In terms of dealing with Meren, good old Lignify is difficult for any commander-centered deck. I run it in tandem with Treefolk Harbinger.
Scavenging Ooze and/or the new Ravenous Slime are good options against recursion decks. I'd always want at least one of those - probably the Scooze thanks to it's flexibility - in every green deck, and I'd happily run both if I was in a recursion heavy meta.
I think the point is to Lignify Meren and not the frog haha. But I'd consider Song of the Dryads over Lignify. If you Song Meren it will be much harder for them to put her back in the command zone for recasting because most of their sac outlets are for creatures and not any old permanent.
Okay! I bit the bullet and finally purchased my own Gaea's Cradle. It's moderately played and en Français, mais c'est pas grave! Tout le monde comprendra de toute façon!
I also took out Treefolk Harbinger to try out Berserk (which I had just lying around for some reason). I'm including it mostly as a 1-mana removal spell, but the ability to both kill an opponent and get rid of the best creature in play for massive blowouts seems really nasty.
My next step is acquiring a Craterhoof Behemoth, which will most likely take the place of Kamahl, Fist of Krosa. In the meantime, what are your thoughts between Kamahl and End-Raze Forerunners (of which I also have a copy)? The boars make a slightly better Craterhoof impression, but they don't give me potential land shenanigans like Kamahl does.
Other than that, the only other card I'm unhappy with is Fade into Antiquity. The exile removal is an important way for me to deal with Darksteel Forge or Spine of Ish Sah permanently, but in most cases it just feels underwhelming and overpriced. I am contemplating swapping back into Wave of Vitriol which I also hate, but would be more versatile, even though it doesn't deal with Darksteel forever when facing Daretti and Scrap Mastery. Any advice on this topic? Thanks for the advice on Deglamer/Unravel the AEther!
Last thing I'm contemplating is Scavenger Grounds, being able to repeatably wipe graveyards seems great, but it comes with the drawback of exiling my own graveyard, which might be problematic. Of course, you can always work around your own cards. Any idea what I could cut to try it? I hesitate to take out more forests, as I find myself occasionally pinched on green mana for stuff as it is. What do you feel is the minimum?
You would need more Deserts for Scavenger Grounds to repeatedly wipe graveyards. Sacrifice is a cost, so it would be in your Graveyard by the time the Activated Ability resolves, exiling it.

Thanks, I hadn't realized that. Still worth it? I could also take out Tranquil Thicket for Desert of the Indomitable, but maybe that would be getting a little cute.

It's been awhile since I've put in any work to this list, but I'm coming back around on it. Has anyone played with Natural Balance lately? It was a card I ran in the past and I think the one or two times I cast it it was alright, but I ended up cutting it. I've been pondering changes to my list and I started thinking about this card again. Is it worthwhile? Also, has anyone slotted in Pir's Whim yet? At 4cmc it seems expensive since the land comes into play tapped, but getting everyone to sac an enchantment or artifact makes up for a lot of that.
Is there anything in my list that hasn't served you well to cut for any of the cards in my maybeboard??

Last night I had Titania out with Zuran Orb. I floated my 6 mana, sacrificed all my lands, played Natural Balance (destroying a bunch of my opponents' in the process), fetched up five new untapped forests, got 6 5/3s, tapped it all (now 7 mana floating), sacrificed it all to Scapeshift (5 more 5/3s), sacrificed 5 more lands (5 more 5/3s), played my Gaea's Cradle for the first time and tapped it for 20 mana and proceeded to win with Greater Good into my finishers. It was gross.
Natural Balance is a card I always found to be very inconsistent. There were times when it was amazing, and there were times when I couldn't get a good use out of it. As such, I ended up cutting it, along with several other cards with similar problems (Natural Affinity, Constant Mists).
Natural Balance is a card I always found to be very inconsistent. There were times when it was amazing, and there were times when I couldn't get a good use out of it. As such, I ended up cutting it, along with several other cards with similar problems (Natural Affinity, Constant Mists).
Thanks for the feedback. It got me thinking about why I would want the card and in what situations it could be good. While there are time you can live the dream with the card, it doesn't seem like a card I would want to cast if I'm not living the dream. Unlike Scapeshift, which can really be cast just to upgrade some lands, Natural Balance only fetches basics. It can set opponent's mana bases back, but it still leaves them with 5 mana which is not nothing. It also brings you back to mana parity with your opponents if you don't have a Cradle out, and a mana advantage over your opponents is one of the big strengths of this deck. I think when I want this effect I just want Scapeshift.
In the same vein as Natural Affinity, how do you feel about Heroic Intervention? I guess Natural Affinity is only really useful when someone specifically casts a destroy all creatures card where Intervention can protect against all that plus spot removal. From what I remember when I briefly ran Natural Affinity is that I was rarely lucky enough to have the card in hand when someone board wiped. Heroic Intervention being a bit more flexible would probably see a few more casts, but we actually recover pretty quickly so maybe it's not needed. On the plus side of the cards, if they resolve in the face of a board wipe then we usually just win the game on our next turn.
Constant Mists is an interesting one. Every now and then I get into a game where I'm glad to have it, but I can see why you would cut it. We're almost always the aggressor and usually stronger in combat due to our disposable army.
Is anyone still running Duplicant? This was a card I had for awhile, but at 6 mana with no real way to leverage the body besides tutoring I ended up cutting it. I just wasn't too excited to spend 6 mana to 1 for 1 someone. At the same time, I have no other way to deal with a problematic creature like Avacyn or Ulamog. I've always just relied on killing them if they get something too threatening out.
I'm hoping to see Three Visits reprinted soon. When this card becomes more available, what do you plan on cutting to fit it in. I'm not sure if I'll cut a non ramp spell to increase the amount I run, or if I'll cut Sakura-Tribe Elder for the minor upgrade of getting the land into play untapped.
I tend to always find a way to make Natural Balance useful, honestly. I've often used it as a way to sacrifice my own lands to make 5/3s when I have more than 5 lands in play. It's a very easy card to make asymmetrical, even if it looks "balanced" on the outside.
I've also found Natural Affinity to be a difficult card to pull off against a board wipe. I have used it in a few scenarios as a way to block with my lands to save life and make better creatures and as well as helping to finish off the game with Triumph of the Hordes. It can feel pretty narrow, though.
I don't think I've cast Heroic Intervention yet in all my games with the deck. If I have, it was probably as protection against Spot removal for titania and not the complete blowout against board wipes. It seems good to have, but it rarely gets played.
I will never cut Constant Mists. That card has saved me so many times. People just don't expect fogs, which makes them great tempo plays or just blowouts. Saccing lands is super synergistic with the deck, too.
What are your thoughts on Blast Zone in the deck? I've purchased a copy, but haven't had a chance to play it yet.
And what about Emergence Zone? Being able to play spells at instant speed and getting a free 5/3 seems like it could allow for even deadlier turns for us before we untap.
Blast zone doesn’t excite me that much even though it is a pretty unique effect on a land. I’m just not sure how efficient it is or what we can realistically expect to blow up with it. I currently run Mouth of Ronom and have only used it once. Maybe this is a good replacement or complimentary card.
Emergence Zone on the other hand has me very excited. I feel like this is a surprise concordant crossroads. There are so many powerful things we can threaten to do on an opponent’s end step. I’m probably going to cut Havenwood Battleground for it.
Also, do any of you run Field of Ruin? Or is Ghost Quarter, Tec Edge, Dust Bowl, Wasteland, Strip Mine good enough?
