Lands have always been my favorite card type in magic with enchantments being a close second. When Titania, Protector of Argoth came out I fell in love with the play style she brought. After Titania came out, Omnath, Locus of Rage was printed and I made a deck with him and stuck Titania in it. Then The Gitrog Monster was printed and I was stuck at a crossroads. I needed to build a deck around the Hypno Frog but Omnath and her would play too similar. With that being said I decided I was going to build a Jund lands matter deck.
Xira Arien is the commander but isn't casted often. She's used just for her colors but I have used her to draw when I have nothing better to do with my mana. No other Jund commander did anything relevant for a lands deck so she is kind of the obvious choice.
This deck is somewhat budget. I will post a non-budget list ASAP when I'm not as busy at work. The jist of it is adding in all the fetchlands and Crucible of Worlds (taking out Rites of Flourishing probably).
Anyone ever try something like this? I thought about going the 5 color route but I felt like the only thing I would be adding is Noyan Dar, Roil Shaper and Sacred Ground.
I've been testing out Ad Nauseum with Seismic Assault and Borborygmos Enraged as an extra win condition. I died from it against a Kaalia deck (I would be dead next turn anyways and I left her at 4 life). I then finished off two players with one Ad Nauseum when they were both under 25 life which let me win the game. Seems pretty sweet.
As all your important "combo" creatures are green, may I recommend Natural Order?
As a Borbor Enraged player, I love how well Keen Sense, Abundance and Sylvan Library all work together to do awesome stuff depending on what pieces you have.

Wow I really like Abundance and Keen Sense. That looks like a really fun combo, especially if I am using him and Seismic Assault as my main win condition.
Lol, I'm pretty interested in your budget list because Dark Depths and Crucible of Worlds is about as non-budget as you can get
I'll have it out by the end of this weekend. Though what do you consider budget? I would say that an EDH deck under $200 is a budget deck, therefor I would be able to fit Dark Depths in there since the new version is only $25-$30 and is a monster of a win condition. Unfortunately there really is no other card in magic that is synonymous to it.
I'll probably add some budget replacements for cards over $15 though, hopefully that would help.
Well, I guess budget depends on the person. But I would say at least $100 should be budget. And yes, Dark Depths getting a reprint slightly reduced its price. But yeah, it would be great to include some budget choices if you really want to make a budget deck.

Well I really enjoy brewing and making budget decks especially since most of my friends are more on the budget side. Maybe I'll do $100 deck and then list the largest top priority upgrades.
This is my Xira Arien build, which emphasizes low mana curve, lots of card draw and card selection, and a high threshold of cards that interact well together.

Cabal Pit and Barbarian Ring need to be added in my deck actually. I've always believed I am light on removal and these will definitely help. I'm going to be testing Ad Nauseum and Seismic Assault tonight so depending on how it does will depend if I lower my curve some and take out some of the high cmc win conditions and make it more streamlined.
If this is supposed to be a jund Gitrog deck, why arent you playing Green Sun's Zenith. Its essentially a 6 mana copy of Gitrog. Or a 5 mana copy of Mina and Denn. Or an 8 mana copy of Omnath. I could keep going, but you get the idea. The card is insane. You should play it. PLUS...its super cheap right now because of the EMA reprint.

I have a GSZ. It is beyond me why I didn't put it in here. I also added a dryad arbor because of the synergy with fetches and GSZ.
This is the same reason I've suggested Natural Order.
I decided to take out a few of the weaker wincons such as Rampaging Baloths and Beastmaster's Ascension and added these two cards. There will be a big update to the deck hopefully today. It cut out the chaff and has focused the deck on either a token strategy or Seismic Assault and Borborygmos Enraged.
Should be interesting! Keep an eye on occasions where maybe you'd want to putting a Craterhoof Behemoth in play as well. He does work in my Gitrog deck typically reanimated off the back of a Worm Harvest or Avenger of Zendikar.

That is something I will have to try. I am really trying to consolidate the deck to it having 2 consistent win conditions (tokens or seismic assault/borb). With this being said I almost want to try taking out Angry Omnath and try out craterhoof. He is by far the slowest token producer I have and the only one that doesn't do anything the turn it ETB.
The one thing I DO like about Omnath is that sometimes, he just makes the game unwinnable for your opponents. Being in a position where sweeping the board kills them is a great place to be! Nothing quite as awesome as making 10 tokens, then sweeping your own board and dealing 55 as you choose.

That is true. I could probably add Greater Good if I keep him for added synergy.

The win condition in this deck is tutoring The Gitrog Monster and then tutoring/drawing into either Omnath, Locus of Rage, Rampaging Baloths, Avenger of Zendikar, or Titania, Protector of Argoth and winning with tokens usually with the help of Beastmaster Ascension. It's two other alternate win conditions is the Dark Depths and Thespian's Stage combo and Borborygmos Enraged after you Creeping Renaissance once or twice.

Here is the tappedout page to see cmc...I like to see this type of thing so thought others might too.
