I like the cheap landchantments you run. I don't use them in my Kamahl anymore - exploration and burgeoning go in their place. My list is weird and pricey old cards - i'll see if I can find a list later. You're not running Green's Cyclonic Rift - The Great Aurora. That thing is seriously amazing late game in my list - every time it resolves, it's a blowout.
I didn't even consider The Great Aurora. It always looked more of a green Warp World to me.
I'll pick up and exploration and G Aurora and see how they fare.
I would love to see your list. Always fun to compare lists.
I know that sylvan advocate is a new card, but I'm still surprised that it has yet to catch on with the edh community.
I actually did consider Sylvan Advocate. It would be painful if I encounter an Ætherize or Ætherspouts though.
Wouldn't it be better to use my mana for the Overrun ability, activating it multiple times, instead of having extra creatures?
I'm just thinking out loud here... ^^
If you are after card draw, maybe you should give Tireless Tracker a chance. Havn't played with her myself yet, but have been playing the somewhat similar Seer's Sundial and that has been sweet with a ramp-heavy deck. I imagine tracker is even better. And you should mos def be playing Soul of the Harvest! Sylvan Library is another option, and I always like to play the cycle-lands in monocolored decks.
I like Utopia Sprawl and Wild Growth, but I think you have to play some kind of enchantress to make them worthwhile. You seem to be good mana-wise, so I would cut them.
Surprised no Priest of Titania with the amount of elves you run. Also synergizes brilliantly with Joraga Treespeaker. I'm more interested in playing big dudes than powering out a Kamahl, so I cut it. You're looking for lots of fast mana, these would be good additions.
Courser of Kruphix seems to be a lot more helpful for you, with the amount of Landfall you're building and lets you play more lands. It's just another Oracle of Mul Daya.
I think Silverglade Elemental is more helpful than Seedguide Ash because it gets you the mana upfront. But of course, you could always run both.
To be honest, your deck seems to be split in two. I chose, probably, the worst version which is play fattiest. I think going fast mana, drop a Kamahl and Overrun everyone is a much stronger, aggressive option. I'm not sure which way to really say you should go.
@Rogerandover: Tireless Tracker is indeed another interesting option. I got a Soul of the Harvest laying around, I just need to figure what to take out for it. Tranquil Thicket, cycle lands are indeed a cool option, but I'm not convinced it should be included here.
@Burntgerbil: Fetches and Earthcraft are things that won't go in here. Fetches cost me too much money, and I consider Earthcraft good for the infinite squirrel combo or something else. Caustic Caterpillar for Acidic Slime is another interesting choice. I included Acidic Slime because there're some Voltron (Rafiq, Uril, Kaalia) decks in my meta, and it is a wonderful blocker. Caustic however, comes out super early.
@Tev: Priest of Titania would indeed be a good fit. I wanted the original, but my local shop didn't have one in stock. They did have the reprint, I'll try to keep my eye on it.
Priest for Joraga seems like a good trade. Silverglade Elemental for Seedguide Ash is another good trade.
I'll try to post an updated list soon. I've made some changes with stuff that I had laying around, and took out some things that didn't really pull their weight.
Suggestion for cuts would be mana/land stuff. You have four manadorks - seems like more then enough. Sylvan Ranger doesn't ramp, so i would cut him. Ondu Giant could also be a candidate.
Just to give you some other option, Nacatl War-Pride is a creature that plays really well with Kamahl. I just traded for one, so don't have any experience yet, but I look forward to it. The cats also make Champion of Lambholt really big, and give them evasion at the same time. Rogue's Passage might be a good idea, if you go down that path.
I don't feel right about Omnath, Locus of Mana being in this deck. Realistically, how often are you going to be hoarding mana as opposed to dumping it on your commander every chance you get?
I don't feel right about Omnath, Locus of Mana being in this deck. Realistically, how often are you going to be hoarding mana as opposed to dumping it on your commander every chance you get?
Oh, and good luck getting those two cards. =D
Thanks ^^
Out of those three I would probably grab Wild Beastmaster. She has the lowest CMC and a card you don't see very often. Extraplanar Lens is a good card, but I would have to change all my lands to snow-covered ones. It's a solid upgrade, but sadly one I'm not able to do.
Beacon of Creation is a card that has been laying here for a good bit, figuring out what to cut for it. Dryad Arbor can go in!
I'm not sure about Bear Umbra, what would you cut for it?
I hadn't considered Living Hive, it's like a vomiting Giant Adephage! (Probably a good upgrade over that one).
What do you think about Saproling Symbiosis? It's a card I've added recently, but I haven't gotten the chance to draw it yet.
Omnath -> Wild Beastmaster
Saproling Symbiosis -> Beacon of Creation
Giant Adephage -> Living Hive
Forest -> Dryad Arbor
I would properly only play Saproling Symbiosis in a tokenheavy deck (which I do in my UG fungus deck). I don't think I ever played it, but I also havn't played that much with the deck - looking forward to hear how it works out for you.
Another suggestion would be to cut Tormod's Crypt for Scavenging Ooze. Ooze is easier to find and recur in mono-green. I have only had good experiences with it!
This might be dependent on your Meta, but how has your mana weenies been running? I use to run them in my Prossh deck because I ran a bunch of creature abuse (Ashnod's, Prossh, and etc). You may want to consider cards like Mind's Eye, Eldritch Evolution, Birthing Pod, and Nature's Claim.
Krosan Grip is usually only better than Nature's Claim if there is an Oblivion Stone. Otherwise, its just more expensive.
You also might want to diversify some Overrun effects. The deck seems pretty focused on ramping early with weenies, getting Kamahl out and then swinging with his ability. Which means that the deck might fall apart to Nevermore, a Blue permission deck, Theft decks, or repeated removal. Craterhoof Behemoth and Beastmaster Ascension would be a good add depending on your meta's acceptance of these types of cards.
Personally, I am not a fan of Mana Weenies without abusing them harder. I think the deck utilizes them fairly well, but think that they could be abused more, or substituted for straight ramp. Overall I just think the deck is punished a lot (more so than normal) by Wraths and there are some straight replacements that would help.
I'm not sure about Bear Umbra, what would you cut for it?
Off hand I'd say Vernal Bloom. It seems you're concerned about opponents possibly benefiting from Extraplanar Lens if you used it. If that's true, than you should be more concerned about a card that lets your opponents benefit from any forest rather than a specifically named one.
By the way, I'm don't know about Chameleon Colossus. You're already dedicating your commander to pumping up things so the mana dumping creature could possibly be either Ant Queen or Jade Mage instead to get some more creatures to help your commander out.

I love having Powder Keg as a potential nuclear option for Kamahl's land animation ability.
Oh that's evil!
I'm looking for a little more card draw. A spot for Soul of the Harvest would be nice.
I'm not entirely sure what to cut, what do you think?
I haven't tested the deck enough to form an opinion, but what is your thought on Utopia Sprawl and Wild Growth?
Soul of New Phyrexia is another interesting card, but I consider it more defensive than offensive.
Offensive is the way I wanna go with this deck.

Utopia Sprawl and Wild Growth improve dramatically once you've resolved an Earthcraft.
Lastly, I've replaced all my Acidic Slimes with Caustic Caterpillar when they came out and I've been very pleased.

Gamekeeper, Defense of the Heart, Survival of the Fittest, Tooth and Nail and Lurking Predators are some ways to tutor for creatures. They're ways to get your bombs into play.
