MTG Salvation

Hello all!

So in a sense I'm fairly new to MTG, have only been playing for about 5 years, and I'm really into commander and could use some professional advice about how to make my Ghave, Guru of Spores deck just a little better.

The entire deck list has been listed below of all the cards that I have in my deck and a sideboard of all the cards that I think could be good in my deck. There are 3 main functions that I would like my deck to do.

1. Tribal Fungus/Saprolings: The creature majority is definitely and needs to be fungi. Now, not all the creatures are fungi in order for combos, but tribal ties into what I want it to do.....mass saproling production. Only tokens produced will be saprolings.

2. Counters: Now this ties into #1, saprolings are weak and need buffing. Mass +1/+1 counters as creatures enter the battlefield. This will also help produce more saprolings. Also spore counters as well, fungi will be able to make more saprolings.

3. Faster: The main issue I'm having with this deck is how slow it is. I'm not asking to make it professionally competitive, but being able to hold its own in 1 v 1 would be nice.

I think the list doesn't show because it asks you to format like this:

From quoting your message, I got the impression that you did it like
1 Card A 1 Card B 1 Card C 1 Card D. Which the site doesn't recognize.
Also, you might want to post this in the deck construction format once you get the formatting right, the general discussion area is generally not for decklists. You can request a commander mod (I'm not one) to move it, or to close this and make a new thread if you prefer.

For mass +1 counter distribution, Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest has been an all star for me. I've especially liked him with new Clue tokens, such as from Tireless Tracker and Ulvenwald Mysteries (though that one makes non-saprolings).

Likewise, I've had success with Perilous Forays in token decks to really get the mana production going.

Other sources of +1 counters can include Archangel of Thune, which can also go infinite with Spike Feeder. If you don't want to go infinite, Spike Weaver is a powerhouse of survival with your commander and +1 counter themes.

Hardened Scales is also very powerful with Ghave, as it lets him increase the +1 counters on himself, as well as doubling his effectiveness on other creatures. Blade of the Bloodchief is another option to restock him with counters. You can just ignore the vampire bit.

That sounds fun. I might try that out after I get done working on my current project.
