So originally my BW Color combo was going to be helmed by Athreos, God of Passage. The Deck was going to consist of alot of small creatures, alot of removal, and tokens. Then 2015 Commander Precons came out and I saw Daxos the Returned and was like HEY I LIKE THIS CONCEPT MORE!!!! the same concept works, small quick creatures, tokens, but hey Enchantments....alot of enchantments. As I was making this, I wondered if it was to similar to my Bruna deck but after playing it a bit the feel is completely different as Bruna is all about auras and tronning her to one shot poor souls. Where as this is more play as many enchantments as possible and overwhelm your opponents.
I would of course would really love any input this deck is still new, havent gotten alot of play testing and if anyone has any other synergies I would greatly appreciate it
Starfield is a nonbo with Daxos tokens because layers or something. You need Skybind and Attrition in your life though.
It's only a nonbo if you need to use the tokens for attacking or sacrifice (for attrition at least, for Grave Pact or Martyr's Bond it's actually better). However, the tokens will still trigger Constellation. I think Starfield is too good to not include despite it change to the deck's dynamic when it is in play.
Yea, but I am not such a huge fan of Attrition to be honest. I like the idea of Grave Pact/Bond better. That being said, I do want to try out Ayli and it would prevent me from using her properly. Correct me if I am wrong but, Starfield does allow Parallax Wave shenanigans though which is vastly more useful than Attrition.
If you have something to sac the Parallax Wave to, and if you have the Starfield online. Attrition works on its own and is one of the dumbest cards in my deck. Feel free to not run it though, and to run the thing that kills your main wincon
Ah right. Doesn't that make it a one shot thing though?
Also, how would you actually win if you turn off the tokens? They've been by far the most... persuasive means to victory the deck has offered so far
No actually I think it is infinite because when it removes itself, its leaves play clause triggers bringing it back into play with fresh counters. So you can either protect your own creatures, or have infinite exile.
Well you could always board wipe then drop starfield giving you an instant army. Or Humility then Starfield. Or if you don't want to use your now creature enchantments, win with a combo.
Also,Starfield of Nyx is a trap... get hit with a Wrath once and you will see what I mean.
The Theros block enchantment creatures are super weak for EDH.
Grave Peril and Planar Cleansing are poor cards. People with offer up a weak etb creature to Peril, and Cleansing hurts you as much. Just go Shriekmaw/Doomblade, etc. Austere Command or the Theros black wrath that hits non-enchantment creatures. (Forgot the name)
It's obvious the list started with the WB precon as the foundation. Hence the things like Grave Peril and most of the Theros enchantment dirt. I feel your pain.
In terms of fun bouncy enchantments, never forget Gossamer Chains. Super fun little ditty.
