Most cards abused by Zada generally give +1 toughness to begin with. With one of those in hand, your army could definitely survive Zap, Flare, Spawning Breath, and Make Mischief (although Zap and Flare I find are too expensive for what could be done with Crimson Wisps and the like).

I don't know, but good catch. That could end up being really handy for doing Twinflame/Heat Shimmer and then flashback, and further arcane splicing the same way. Probably need to be already going off on mana.
Been meaning to comment in this thread for a while, I'm having a blast playing Zada and really need to give thanks for all the advice and suggestions people have posted here.
Anyway, as for Eldritch Moon cards, anyone else considering Otherworldly Outburst? It gives a small pump for when we're going off, but more importantly, means we can be left with a healthy load of tokens if someone wraths. I quite often am finding that my first go at building a board state ends up with people killing my stuff before I reach the critical mass of cards and mana I need to win (though only casting Zada if I can Collective Unconscious at least once in response to said wrath so my creatures aren't completely wasted), so being in a position where all I need to recast is Zada herself in order to get going again seems pretty promising.
I love your take on Otherworldly Outburst. That means that you could essentially do that, then use cards like Zap, Flare, Spawning Breath, and Make Mischief to their full potential for creatures whose toughness is 1! Amazing catch!

I've been thinking along the same lines. My main reason not to go into the zap and flare package described by gxmiter has been my smaller-than average goblin package, plus casting costs. By replacing creatures when they die, outburst effectively reduces/negates the drawback of losing smaller creatures. Now the only tradeoff would be losing something like mogg fanatic or young pyromancer too early.
With the additions of otherworldly outburst and Distemper of the Blood to replace some of the permanents/goblin only pump, I've been exploring retooling the pump list to allow for finally cutting balduvian rage and even getting another cantrip by slotting in zap and flare, which is a big deal.
I have had a brief discussion with lyonhaert and would like the input of everyone with a vested interest in Zada a simple series of questions, as you may have assumed from the sudden presence of a poll. The first and perhaps most important question is whether a more universal resource for Zada is something you might be interested in.
The second and polling question is, for everyone that is interested in a more "primer"-esque resource, would it be beneficial to turn this thread into that resource, or would the discussion be better served with a clean slate? The reason to ask is specifically, as you may have noticed, I am not able to post/update frequently. If this resource is desirable and the existing discussion in this thread is worthwhile (which I believe to be the case), then the first post will be reworked into a compilation of work from anyone who is experienced and able to put forward their contributions. This would likely be done in some other location/collaborative software so that everyone involved could create, submit, and review content. The final product from that would then be uploaded by me into the first post, and I would try to keep it up to date on at least a weekly basis.
This is a relatively new idea and how public/private the creation group will be is open to discussion. Please let me/us know your preferences and whether you'd be interested in putting together a given section of the deck/strategy/stack interactions. As most other Zada decks haven't had as much traffic, I anticipate that we could cover most or all of the variations between storm and midrange with packages from goblin to arcane or toughness.
Already told crazy monkey some of this, but I'll just drop my two cents here, too.
I'm not a big fan of the idea of using a simple collaboration tool like a Google Document or something. I'd prefer something like a text file in a github/bitbucket repository so that it can handle a separation between the latest "solid" version of the content for the OP and one or more branches of contributors' in-progress work. Especially if we have more than 2-3 people writing. Also shows history better to me. It's added complexity, but I'm down for managing, merging of pull requests, and whatnot that comes with the territory. As far as public/private for that approach, it can be publicly visible without being publicly editable (permission capabilities vary between the two sites). Might be an interesting thing for people to see. Or it can be private so that only those collaborating can read/write and everybody else just sees the result when the OP is updated.
I don't envision a fast swarm of collaboration, but rather gradually composing the content at a comfortable pace.
I think it'll be great to have a Zada primer. Yes, this is the most visited Zada thread so it kinda makes sense. I wouldn't worry too much about udates for the deck. Basically any cantrip or token-maker is the only thing worthwhile to consider for Zada. And, honestly, Zada doesn't get much of it with each new set so it won't be a lot of work to maintain this primer!

To me it seems pretty decent. I'll probably try it for a while after it comes out. The only part that gives me doubts is that it's a sorcery. Probably not that big a deal for what it does, but I do tend to favor instants.
So far the poll appears that we'll be doing the OP of this thread. I'm going to work on setting some stuff up and start a skeleton of the document over the next week or two or whatever (while also working on packing and moving my fiance into my apartment) while we discuss this and come to decisions. Haven't seen any objections to the text-file-in-source-control approach.
I think having a Zada primer would be pretty great, since there are a good number of variations on how to build her, and i'm sure people would enjoy being able to see what other versions are doing in order to borrow cards from one another.
Additionally, I haven't gotten any testing in with it yet, but Bedlam Reveler could be promising, just as a way to draw more cards later in the game. It's not particularly great when the deck is actually 'going off', but if you don't have the cards you need in hand, he gives you another shot at finding more cantrips or rituals or whatever the deck might need at the time, while providing a body. It's on my list of cards to test out when I'm next able to play my Zada deck with my playgroup, and I'm decently optimistic about it.
Thanks all of you for your input and creation of the Zada deck! I've been looking to break apart my mono red Goblin deck (led by Ib) since I've had it for a long time and feel like something else. With Zada a lot of the cards can be recycled and the new playstyle sounds super fun. I hope the new primer will be here soon, looking forward to picking up some tips and tricks while I'm creating my decklist.
Once again, thanks all and keep up the work
Don't forget that Zada is a ridiculously cheap deck to build. It can easily be built for around $50 and if you're lucky enough to know people who just gift away commons, than you can you can build it for so much less. This is something that should definitely be discussed in the primer. I for one was able to build my list for practically nothing.

It's a lot of work to write, so it'll be a while. In the meantime it could be valuable to read through the thread. It can take a while, but breaking it up into chunks helps a lot.
If you guys like, I can help write out the Budget Section of the future [Primer]. I have experience writing about budget builds and I can pretty much help keep it up to date. If you want an idea of what I can do, just check out the Budget Section in my Sidisi, Brood Tyrant primer (in my sig). If you'd like it to be in a different direction, just let me know and I'll try and do it like that. I would like to help out though because I run this deck as my current list in real life and it's superbly fun to play!
EDIT:
Almost forgot to ask: what would you consider budget? No more than $100? Average price per card (excluding basic lands) of $1? Less than $75?
EDIT:
Here's my current decklist. It's at approximately $90:
My YouTube Channel: The Commander Tavern - a channel I just started where I'll post deck techs and gameplays. Please support by checking it out. Maybe you'll like its content and subscribe! Thanks!
Dang, that is an extensive primer. Some of the formatting seems a bit busy in places, but we also don't have nuanced control over it.
As far as what is considered budget, $100 sounds fine to me. If I remove all the expensive cards that are not essential to making the deck work but just push it a little further, my list becomes about $80, and that includes keeping Krenko, Firestorm, and Past in Flames.
Since multiple of us will be contributing, and with variations on the theme, it might be interesting to have those multiple decks in the primer with their own attribution to whoever's decklist it is (like "DementedKirby's Budget Version") and their own changelogs. Then we could keep those updated there while posting our changes at the end of the thread, rather than posting our whole decklists once in a while in thread.
I'll shoot you and crazy monkey PMs about email addresses when I get the repository set up so I can invite you for access.

As for building on budget, I concur with not removing Krenko, Mob Boss and Past in Flames because they're so key to the deck. The deck needs to make tokens in order to abuse Zada's ability. I'd be able to make my list almost $20 cheaper by taking out Cloudstone Curio and Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx. The deck is pretty budget by default because 1/3 of it is commons and another 1/3 of it is basic lands.
I'd also like to approach the Budget Build from the standpoint of someone who has literally none of the cards and how they could possible build the deck all the way from people/friends/LGS donating commons and basic mountains (this is not an unusual practice). I for one am the type of person to give away commons for nothing just to help people out. There's also a LGS (not so local to me 'cause it's pretty far away) that opens tons of boxes and they keep around the commons in boxes so that people can just sift through them and grab whatever they want for free. So I'd like to suggest this commander for those who are on a super tight budget. Most of the uncommons are pretty cheap to come buy and the rares aren't that expensive to obtain.
From my own experience, I already had most of the "expensive" cards and all the commons from the most recent sets I was able to get from buddies who play standard. Most of the older cards I already had 'cause I've been playing MtG on/off since '94. There were only very few cards I needed to obtain in order to build the deck I was tinkering with in Cockatrice. This sometimes means that some cards will remain in your hand until you get the combo pieces to go off. Some may want to simply bypass the arcane aspect and go full-blown draw and pump in a very simple way. Since this is crazymonkey's thread, I'm gonna leave his idea intact in the budget build. If the primer is gonna discuss other angles to Zada (not using arcane) I could also discuss a budget build for that.
EDIT:
I've been extensively testing with Otherworldly Outburst and Make Mischief and they've just been too broken! The amount of tokens produced is ridiculous. I wish EMN would've given us more token produces for R. At least a creature that creates tokens when entering the battlefield. Hopefully Kaladesh will provide that much needed token production (with thopters, no doubt).

EDIT:
Now that I think about it, I have seen people use Phyrexian Altar with Zada. Using that spell and then using the creatures as sac fodder to the Altar is pretty broken. If you also do that with Make Mischief, you can really go far with it:
Step 1: Target Zada with Otherworldly Outburst.
Step 2: Target Zada with Make Mischief. Congratulations, you now have a ton of 3/2 Eldrazi Horrors and 1/1 Devils
Step 3: Sacrifice the Devils to Phyrexian Altar for mana and pain. Use the mana to possibly go about it again.
Step 4: Cast Past in Flames. Recast Otherworldly Outburst and Make Mischief. This with Purphoros, God of the Forge in play is pretty ridiculous. This also works with Spawning Breath as well. But Make Mischief produces a bunch of Goblin Arsonists, lol.

That'd be awesome. I'm definitely up for some community collaboration.
Hopefully, it could be easy for other people to build this deck.
Also, to note, my build is a version based on crazymonkey's concept of abusing arcane spells with Zada.
